Get up to 200 shots from each CO2 tank! Never run out of gas, again. Uses an 88-gram CO2 tank that delivers even, consistent velocities. Refills are easy, too...just take along a spare CO2 tank. The Hammerli 850 AirMagnum will become your go-to air gun. It's made in Germany and delivers one-hole groups. No heavy cocking effort, no bulky fill devices. Just load and shoot.

German quality and loaded with features, the Hammerli 850 AirMagnum is so much fun to shoot that you'll have a hard time putting it down.Let's start with the all-weather stock. You can take this gun anywhere and not worry about a fragile finish, because it's made from a durable polymer. It's ambidextrous, too, with a raised cheek piece on both sides of the Monte Carlo stock! This CO2 rifle uses an 88-gram AirSource cartridge, giving you about 400 shots before you have to change cartridges. The fiber-optic sights will help you acquire your target, but feel free to mount a scope on the 11mm dovetail rail. (Umarex also makes a dovetail-to-Weaver mount) The checkering on the pistol grip and forearm will help you get a good grip while you plow shot after shot from this 8-shot repeater. This gun is everything you ever hoped for in a CO2 repeater!

The fun never stops with this rifle! Ideal for plinking, shooting targets and spinners and avian pest control..

RWS is known for standing behind their guns, and their warranty has always been viewed as the best in the business. We've recommended some pellets to help you get the most from this airgun, as certain shapes of pellets tend to jam in the magazine. Please see our accessories tab for recommended pellets. great air rifle, love CO2
October 4, 2010
I have enjoyed my Hammerli 850 rifle. I bought it to replace the Crossman 66 that I have been using to control squirrel and rabbits at my home. The 66 did great for a very inexpensive rifle, but I was starting to shoot farther and wanting a better scope and rifle. The 850 gives a little more fps (I bought the 0.177 version) than the 66 at 10 pumps, but the 850 is all about convenience. Not having to pump 10 times for a follow up shot is very nice. If I go through two magazines on the 850, that would have been 160 pumps on the 66 for full power. The combo I bought came with the Walther 6x42 scope. I like the 6X magnification and the image is very clean through the scope. I was going to go with a 3-9X scope, but the included 6X scope is just about right for my needs and distances I shoot. I bought the RWS Superdome and RWS Super H-Points based on recommendations of other reviewers. I haven not been disappointed. At 20 yards they are as accurate as I am and give very repeatable tight grouping. I bought a spare package of cartridges and pre-load two cartridges with Superdomes and the other two with H-Points (for closer targets). The cartridge works great and I have not had a problem with jamming. The bolt is a little ‚catchy‚ so I find moving the bolt quickly and firmly is the way to go. I thought I wouldn‚t like the automatic safety, but it is very easy to turn off after the bolt action. I purchased the Umarex compensator for my gun. I have to admit it was mostly for vanity as it does look nice on the end of the rifle. I rationalized it by saying it would help protect the end of the barrel. A few inches of heat-shrink-tubing (2‚ or 1.5‚ heat shrink tubing works great) now covers the compensator holes and the sound is greatly reduced. The sound of the pellet hitting the ground/target or the bolt sliding is as loud as the air sound now. I have used both the Crossman and Walther 88g CO2 cartridges. The Walther screwed on much easier than the Crossman. Be sure to follow the instructions (small sheet) that says to loosen the CO2 by ¬ľ turn after you bottom out. Also be sure to put a dab of special made air-gun oil on the tip of the CO2 before you screw it on I live in Southern California so I rarely see temperatures below 60F during the day. CO2 is ideal for me and the convenience of is great.

best decsion i ever made
January 7, 2010
This was the best Christmas present ever. Im 11 and used to my real guns like 308 Win or 243 Win but this is just as good. I am shooting birds with it a hve killed like 5 small ones and 1 squirell i shot it and it did not run but 4 yards and hit a tree then. I shoot it again from 25 yards and put it out of misury. I really would sugjest this gun to anyone. The reason is it is realy easy to use. It is also very powerfull. The scope is realy nice almost nicer than my dads simmons 3-9x50 scope on his 308. It was only three clicks of when i got it. Scope cannot shake out of place. I no by experence. Packedging was realy nice it came spotless. The scope is already assembleled to the gun. It came with rws diabolo pellets 500ct. It came with a allen wrench for adjusting the scope (i would make shure they are tight first before shotting mine werent all the way tight). It all so came with a little sand bag to shoot off of. Cons: It does not come with co2. Uses co2 pretty fast during winter. Has no spot nfor a sling. Has no spot for a bipod. Scope is set at 6x power. Uses 88g co2. Pros: Its very acurit. Scope is very good. Comes witht some exceserys. Packedging is very nice. Verry powerful. Very qiut. I am a experenced shooter. I do kill everything legaly

Bought this a while back, and like using it often. And when i dont, the CO2 stays secure in the barrel and shoots perfect. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. (Even great for beginners)

i like the 850 alot but i hate spend ing money on co2 i would recomend a break barrel air rifle before a co2 air rifle. because break berrel rifels are more powerful (most of the time) and you wont spend money on co2. but overall i really like the 850 it is very fast to shoot. it feels very solid, looks cool. and the scope is very accuate and was easy to sight in.

Awesome Gun
April 16, 2009
I searched the web for a CO2 gun because I was tired of my daisy powerline 880 (multi-pump) because of how much I was shooting and pumping 10 times (each shot) for 50 shots wears out your arms. I came across the RWS 850 and was drooling from first sight. I just recieved the gun and I gotta say it feels solid and looks great. The power on this rifle is amazing, and the scope came mounted was almost perfectly zero'd. I just had to a click it a few times upwards and it was dead on from 50 feet....which made it only 1/4" off @ 100 feet (not bad IMO). The gun was a little louder than I had thought, but it doesn't bother me. The compensator is a must because the CO2 puff fills the scope view area when you it looks cool when the puff comes out of 4 sides of the compensator. I found the best accuracy out of 14 different kinds of pellets was the Gamo Rockets and the Gamo Raptors. When my chronograph comes in the mail I can post fps's...but they have to be well above 700 as my daisy shot @ 700. Overall...I am thoroughly impressed with the gun and VERY glad I bought it. Thans for the deal!!!

Thanks for Everything
April 8, 2009
Your review of the 850 lead me to believe that this was an exceptional rifle for the money. I was surprised that it was all that and more. The metalwork is rock solid and precision fitting is evident all around. The stock is so solid that you have to look at it to remind yourself that its not wood. The scope and mounts were solid and the zero held. The two things not emphasized enough might be the trigger and the quietness of the rifle. The trigger is sweeter than my custom centerfire rifles with $250. triggers...almost difficult to put into words. There is no resistance yet it's not too light. You fire almost subconsciously. This, of course, contributes greatly to the out-of-the-box accuracy (you were right...Superdomes are the ticket). The quietness was gravy but appreciated. And it helped to make it more pleasant to sight it in in my overlong basement. I'm so appreciative of your honest and thorough review that I might even fire a warning shot before shooting the first house sparrow. Of course, he might not hear it anyway... Thanks again, BD

This is a very good gun. One thing they should do is tell what the age limit is.

CO2 .22
November 28, 2008
Love this rifle I have the .22 version. The only issue is the magazines, some are a little wobbly and can jam, you just have to weed through the good and bad magazines. Over all I like it alot and it is accurate and hard hiting. I modded mine for power and now it is an excellent hunting rib. Thanks Again AGD

Good Gun
June 25, 2008
I really liked this rifle, and the scope works great. I haven't run into any problems other than I'm having a hard time finding more CO2. I like the bolt action because you can shoot more in less time, if you want, but you don't have to spend the majority of your time loading the rifle. Out of all the pellet guns i've shot and seen, i would buy this one. It is durable and it feels good when you shoot it, and this site sent it fast, except some of the packaging for the CO2 was partly ripped open...

Fun Gun
April 23, 2008
A fine gun, and great fun. If I were asked to help redesign it, I would make a few suggestions. I like the way the CO2 cartridge is incorporated into the foregrip, but it is executed poorly. The cover comes off if you breath on it, and I don't know how many times I've picked the gun up by the forend, a natural thing with rifles, only to be left standing holding the cover while the rest of the gun thuds to the ground. A good gun deserves better attention to detail. Also, the way the receiver is designed, it is impossible to use a bore snake to clean, rather than running a rod through the barrel from the muzzle, something I dread. Also, why should the adapter allowing the use of 12gr cartridges cost nearly half the original price of the gun? Finally, please send some instructions along with the set regarding the scope--it's a good one, but I'm having trouble focusing it for my eyes. All in all, a good gun, just clean up the details to make it great.

Saw 2 rabbits , 2 shot 2 kills at 30 yrs
March 30, 2008
All I can say was WOW. This gun arrived on Friday. The guality and and build are great. I was not really impressed until I got the scope sighted in.. I was hitting groups the size of a quarter at 30 yrs and with enough power to drill nearly through a thick wooden fence from that distance! This gun is not the .22 caliber but it will take our small game all day with one shot (very humane). Once I got the scope dialed in I noticed a couple of rabbits that have just been eating all our scrubs.. Thes animals do not have any natural preditors in our area so they are somewhat out of control.. Well I basically have a new rabbit snipper rifle..

Top Quality,Shoots Great
December 23, 2007
Once I got the 850 out of the box, I knew I had a winner. Shoots in the bullseye after just five shots and scope adjustments. Smooth steady shooting all day. It;s a winner. I have tried them all any finally found the one. I like the option of .117 or .22. I have the .22 for the bigger knock dowm power.Very well made.

RWS 850
November 19, 2007
So far it is great. All parts and pieces work as required. I am thinking of buying a .22 next. The only thing that needs to be changed is the "O" ring on the mag. It should be a coil spring, I think that it would last longer. (Mine still works fine though) and a 4 power or 3X9 Scope would be my preference. Accuracy very good. The bolt functions perfectly. The open sights also are very good. I would definitely recommend thi A/G...Also I thank Airgun Depot for there fast service.
