Great gun at even twice the price
Bought for my grandson, but it was hard to give it to him after I set it up and tested it. Trigger is much better than my 4 other break barrels, also best scope ever received on a combo deal from this company, no need for a replacement. It seams to not need a break in period, as was shooting good enough groups to hunt tree rats, after sighing it in, this has been a first for me, but I cannot say any other rifle, even from this manufacturer would not need to be broken in. I just can say I have never been more pleased with a break barrel
ProsTrigger Scope Nail driver
ConsI looked hard, I wanted to justify giving it to a 13 year old, didnt find any, it was hard for me to part with it

Great air rifle
I bought this refurbished and was amazed at the power and accuracy. For shooting over 75 yards it does need a different scope .The light weight surprised me. I put 200 rounds through it the first day and the accuracy was great. The workmanship was also better then I expected. As a retired U.S. army Special Forces NCO I know weapons and this one is well worth the price.
Consneeds a better scope

Powerful good gun for hunting and garden pests
something was loose when i got the gun and i shot it about 7 times, might want to tighten the stock later. If u want a quiet gun this is not the one for u. It sounds like a 22.

Decent gun
This rifle needs a scope since it has no open sights. Throw out the piece of junk it comes with and buy a Leapers or Hawke air rifle scope. Once you do that it will shoot fairly well but is not as accurate as many rifles. Do yourself a favor and buy a .22 cal. rifle instead. They hit harder and are more accurate. I bought the Ruger Air Magnum and have not regretted it.
ProsLight weight for an air rifle. .177 cal pellets are dirt cheap. easy to cock.
Consnot as accurate as some other rifles, supplied scope is junk, no open sights

Great Little Air Rifle
This air rifle looked brand new when we got it and we got it pretty quick. Shoots well and is nice and lite. Works well for birds and other small animals. We use it for european sparrows that eat our chicken feed and for just target practice. Nice gun for the money. We've purchase this air rifle for a gift and have had family members purchase it also.
ProsLite weight, durable, reliable shot after shot, over all nice looking gun, great price

Great Bargain
Great rifle for the price. Pretty accurate and consistent shots in the 890 fps range with the Crossman magnum pellets.

Nice Gun For The Money
It is very powerful. My first shot went through a 1/2 piece of plywood. It took six or seven or eight shots at 45 yds. to zero in the scope that came with it. The workmanship is better than I thought it would be. I bought it to get rid of chipmunks, but it could kill bigger animals.
ProsLooks good. Feels good. Shoots good. Good price. I'm happy.
ConsIt is loud at first. The first shot sounded like a 22 short, but after several shots the sound got lower to half. It is hard to cock. No wimp could shoot too many times.

Good Value for the Money
Very pleased with this rifle. I have purchased several for my family and friends. Not too hold sensitive, comfortable to shoot and well balanced. Shoots most pellets accurately, even the Daisy Max pointed produced dime sized groups at ten yards. The rifle performed best with pellets in the 7.4 to 9 grain weight range with velocities averaging in the low 875 fps to a high 950 fps with nickle sized groups at thirty yards.
ProsShot extremely well and looked brand new right out of the box with no break-in other than the standard bore cleaning and a screw tightness check. Very smooth to cock and the firing cycle has little spring twang noise. The trigger, while not the best has a predictable second stage break and is quite serviceable at 3.75 lbs. A very powerful rifle for the cost.
ConsThe scope is so-so. Plan on investing on an air gun rated scope with mil dot reticals for the best performance down range.

Great Rifle but now I realize I need a .22 cal.
Shipping was super fast and came in on a Saturday! Scope was easy to mount, I mean, SUPER EZ. I'm having a small range war with what I call Flying Desert Rats, but I believe they are known to most as pigeons. I zeroed in on one on top of the Tele pole south of my house. First one hit solid ... the pigeon looked at me like"IS THAT ALL U GOT?" So I shot him again. He finally flew off in boredom. I used to have a .22 Titan Crosman/Benjamin. It did not have the delivery power of this one but when it hit MOST pigeons dropped. I LOVE this Umarex, so far. Powerful, fast, accurate. GREAT STARTER RIFLE. Cocking is easy. Im using Destroyer rounds but my pigeons are Destroyer Absorbers.
ProsAccurate ... not really any louder than anything else with a muzzle on it. So quiet that I shot the same bird three times. Very Little Kick. EZ to sight in ... it almost ALWAYS hits the target. Well made ... NICE rifling in barrel.
ConsNot enough punch. I think a .22 cal would wake the pigeons up FASTER!

Screw Loose
The main stock screw ( the one located at trigger area) will not stay tight. I noticed that it already had some blue loctite on it when I broke it down. I had to break it down because the screw holding the pivot on barrel was so loose, I could turn it with my finger tip. I went ahead and applied more loctite on the stock scew near the trigger. As far as the gun goes it shoots pretty well and seems to have plenty of power. It has a good sturdy feel to it and maybe a little heavy but quite easy to load. Accuracy is hard to determine due to the loosening up of the stocks main screw. I've fired 100 rounds and it has quieted down some, it shot really loud at first till most of the oil has burned out. The 4x32 scope that came with it is adequate enough for a ten yards as long as every thing stays tight. I'll have to see how it goes with the stock screws loosening up. I've purchases the Ruger Talon before this and it had the same problem. The Talon is quite a step up to this one. I had to return it because the stock broke at the barrel breach area when I cocked it when the stock screw popped out.
ProsInexpensive, nice well built feel and easy to cock and a pretty good trigger.
ConsStock wont stay tight........very worried about it snapping off. Have to tighten it after 50 rounds.

Great field rifle!
Took the Surge out on a FTX to zero-in the 4x32 fixed objective scope and explore target-rich environments. Took two male tree squirrels @ 30-yards with some cheap Winchester HP,s...both head shots (quick kills). Very comfortable finger grips and my thumb just wrapped around the pistol portion of the grip as if it was molded for my hand...makes a big difference whether plinking or on a hunt. The quality of build and field performance in this "budget adult air rifle" is usually found in spring-piston rifles costing $100 or more. For larger vermin (raccoons, jack rabbits, etc.) unless you have a better scope, use a premium heavy HP and within 20-yds with good placement...don't try it. Nothing worse than wounding any animal only to loose it in the brush and it suffering.
ProsGood balance. Ease of cocking. Good recoil padding (does have a kick). Great quality and holds up well to field ops.
ConsThe 4x32 is good for basic target and small game within 25-30 yards in a field environment. Need a better scope for anything further out and bigger.

BANG FOR YOUR BUCK
THIS RIFLE GIVES YOU GREAT BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!! ITS POWERFUL, COOL LOOKING, AND HAS A GOOD FEEL TO IT. YOU ALSO CAN REPLACE THE BREECH SEAL, AND ADD A SHIM FOR MORE POWER. JUST USE THE SAME KIT AS RUGER AIRHAWK OR BLACKHAWK USES. ALSO, RIFLE SHOOTS VERY GOOD WITH ANY DOME PELLET, BUT I USE THE 8.80 CROW MAGNUM WHICH PUTS OUT 900fps WITH OVER 15fpe. NOT BAD FOR $99.00
ProsGOOD PRICE, GOOD LOOKS, GOOD FEEL
ConsNORMAL SCOPE
