Sometimes it’s just convenient to top off your airgun without any added gear. There are definitely times when you want to leave the world and all extra gear behind, when your airgun and the ammo is all you want to deal with; are we wrong? We didn’t think so, and that’s why there are options with integrated pumps called pneumatic pump airguns.
No Big Bore Pneumatic Pumps?
The options are limited, we don’t know of any big bore airguns with an integrated pump. If this is the platform you’re seeking out, you’ll be confined to small caliber options from .177 BBs to .25 caliber pellets. Some have been around for quite some time and we’ll talk about those first.
Crosman Has You Covered
Crosman has the most to choose from. They made their integrated pump airguns available in pistol or rifle platforms. The Crosman 1377 PC77 or the Crosman P1322 pellet pistols. These both have a pump integrated on the forearm and with as little as three pumps it can efficiently send lead down range.
You might say these have adjustable power settings perfect for plinking or taking out small pests. To take out some pesky pests or to use as a survival tool, pump the pistol the full ten times, for sufficient energy for the job. You can also stick to low power by pumping it as little as three times.
Then there’s the Crosman 760 Pumpmaster, it has been a widely used tool to teach youngsters shooting safety and basics. This airgun shoots .177 pellets or BBs and also has the option of low power or high power with the desired amount of pumps.
The pump variation is one of the reasons it’s a great platform for young shooters. As they grow, get stronger, and are more practiced in safe handling they can pump more for higher power and longer distance shots.
Their newest Crosman is the .177 Vapor Max, this one is another great one for those desiring to bring as little equipment to the table as possible. Like many of the others, you can pump it as few or as much as you’re able within the appropriate minimum of one or maximum requirements of ten.
We’re not done showing off what Crosman has to offer in pneumatic pump airguns. The offerings are not limited to .177 caliber pellets or BBs; the Crosman 362 is a .22 caliber air rifle.There are many more possibilities with this one.
The 362 is equipped with the same variable pump/power option and is efficient for activities from fun backyard plinking to pesting to small game hunting. With ten full pumps it is capable of a velocity of 875 fps which is sufficient for steel rats like the Air Venturi Rat-On-A-Stick or the real thing.

Crosman is not the only manufacturer catering to this niche. The Umarex Strike Point is a pistol and it’s available in .177 and .22 calibers. This single shot bolt action pistol is capable of speeds of 600 fps in .177 and 520 in .22 caliber.
Their rifle version is the Umarex NXG APX available in .177. This one is sleek and lightweight (3.4 lbs.), and great for some fun and easy offhand practice. This one is a multi-shot bolt action airgun with the same “adjustable power” option the others offer. Included is a ten shot rotary magazine and a single shot tray for the shooters’ preference.
Moving onto the Seneca Dragonfly MK2, this one is available in .177 and .22 calibers. The pump on this one makes the pumps equally easy from the first to the last. This technology is the patented Butterfly High Efficiency Pump System.
With fifteen pumps in .177 it can reach velocities of 890 fps and 800 fps in .22, making it sufficient for many applications without needing any extra gear. This air rifle is extremely light weight at 6.3 lbs total, making it a great choice for almost anyone to take into the field without tiring.
Air Venturi With An Integrated Pump PCP
The final option is a sort of crossbreed, the Air Venturi Ascent is actually a pcp that doesn’t require extra gear to go into the field because it has a built-in pump. It is recommended that you give it three to five pumps after each shot to keep it full and ready.
We don’t recommend you deplete the air and then try to fill it with the pump. We recommend you give the Ascent a few pumps between shots to keep going.
Air Venturi has also made the Ascent’s caliber interchangeable. To change to .177, .22, or .25, just purchase a barrel kit and swap them out. With the Ascent, you can go from backyard plinking or pesting to medium game hunting easily.
