Narrowing Down Your Choices; Simple or Modular PCP?

We’re still on the road to helping you narrow down your choices when purchasing an airgun. The hope is this blog will cut your options by more than half. Do you prefer one platform that is aesthetically transformable or gives the ability to change calibers?

For the Tinkerers

If that’s what you’re looking for, you are a modular kind of airgunner. Modular is a design approach allowing an object to be constructed from separate parts or modules that can be connected and rearranged for varied uses.

Another type of airgunner is those that prefer simple, not giving the ability to morph the air rifle into something else, one airgun serving one purpose. When another need shows up, so does another airgun, ready to perform to fill that new need. Which one are you?

Let’s take a look at a few of the modular airguns. Modular can mean anything from interchangeable calibers, stock configurations, and the exchange of the air source from a cylinder to a bottle.

A Few Options

One of the most modular airguns is the Air Venturi Avenge-X. This airgun can be transformed into countless platforms utilizing the same action. The barrel, stock, caliber, and air source are all interchangeable. The calibers offered are .177, .22, and .25 which are great for anything from backyard plinking to pesting and hunting.

The EDgun Leshiy 2 is another option. The calibers are interchangeable with the purchase of a barrel kit in the caliber/s you prefer. It is also available in a couple versions, the Standard, and the Long are available in .177, .22, .25, and .30 calibers.

The FX Impact M4 PCP is available in .177, .22, .25, .30, and .35 calibers. The calibers and barrel liners are interchangeable with the purchase of a barrel kit in the preferred caliber/s. It comes in three configurations Extended, Sniper, and Standard and FX offers two color options black or copper. If you choose this option, it doesn’t limit you to small bore or big bore. You can order it in .22 caliber for small game and pesting, then for medium to big game buy the .357 Barrel Kit and utilize one platform for multiple purposes.

Narrowing It Down

All three examples of modular air rifles are also adjustable, making them perfect for the tinkering type. Some airgunners enjoy digging in and making changes or customizing their airguns, while others don’t. If you prefer modular airguns, your choices have been narrowed down immensely.

Little To No Effort

Some may want to, but they are intimidated and concerned they may mess their airgun up instead of improve it. If you prefer an airgun that requires almost no set-up, adjustments or customizations, there’s plenty of airguns for you.

The Beeman Underlever is a great one that expresses simple and fun! Capable of some fun backyard plinking orup to small to medium game hunting. No adjustments necessary, just load its favorite ammo, and enjoy! There’s nothing wrong with that. The Beeman Underlever is great as an offhander and is available in .177, .22, and .25 calibers.

Then there’s the Macavity MA2 which does have some adjustability but shoots great straight out the box! From .177, .22, .25, and .30 the possibilities are endless! This one is available in standard or long but are not interchangeable from caliber to caliber.

I could list several more, but the fact of the matter is, your options are almost endless! This blog may not have helped you much but there’s more to come! Stay tuned!
