This is an exceptionally accurate rifle which shoots as well with alloy as with lead. It requires very little maintenance, is lighter than most such rifles and is easy to cock. It also comes with a 2 year warranty, which is very unusual in the industry. Customer service very accessible, friendly and informed.
Pros
Inexpensive, well built, easy to cock, accurate and comes with one of the best warranties in the business.
Cons
None!
This gun is great for beginners and experts. The break weight is perfect. You can't beat the fiber-optic sights. Great amount of fps. Accuracy is on the dime. love the noise reducer. not much recoil at all. It's not heavy so it doesn't wear out your arm. Had no problem with any types of pellets. I own the one with the scope an the scope is easy to sift and high quality so also check that out. Stoeger makes some great products.

this gun is the best break barrel i have ever used its lightweight and no recoil but packing all kind of power and its fiber optic sights are tough to beat for a airgun anybody out there that wants a break barrel rifle GET THE STOEGER X5 you wont regret it
I purchased the X5 as my first air rifle, and I am highly impressed. Good accuracy with a proper artillery hold, cocking is not too difficult, and the look of it is high quality. Definitely need to try different pellets in the rifle; Daisy and Crosman Premier slide in properly, RWS Meisterkugeln however are very tight and have to be pushed into the breech with a pen tip, so that they don't deform when the break barrel is closed.
Question?
Login to ask someone who bought this product.Would you recommend it for a 10 year girl? or would the X3 be better for her age.
asked RavijitGuns chosen for kids need to be measured for length of pull (LOP). You find the childs LOP by measuring from the crook of her arm (arm bent at elbow) measure from inside of elbow/ crook to the last joint of their index finger. This measurement is their LOP. You want the chosen gun to be no more than 1/2" longer than the kids LOP. One should also consider a guns cocking effort. Too high an effort will tire kids quickly and create a situation where an accident could hppen such as unintended barrel release. This can hurt the child and also dsmage the gun.
Russ BI would go with the x3, it is the perfect rifle to start with. my daughters love this rifle more than any they own.
JohnWhat does it sound like? How loud is it?

I picked it up thinking it was Stoeger's youth model, but that is the X-3. It seems to have a short barrel but it still cocks easily. The recoil is not worth mentioning. The noise level is medium low. The open sights are really good and easy to use. The dovetail grooves are cut deep enough in the tube that it should be a breeze getting mounts to stick to it. The safety is automatic and disengages easily with a push of your thumb. Right now I have 9 springers and didn't want or need another one. I am glad that this one spoke to me and said take me home with you. I shot a pretty tight group with Hatsan 8.18 gr. Hollow Points. The breach is tight and I would not recommend heads larger than .175
Pros
Quality build and blueing. Easy to cock. Sights adjust easily. Very good and accurate out of the box. Just clean the barrel and go.
Cons
The front sight console can be turned on the barrel if one is not careful.
