Top Picks
This heavy pellet is best used with the most powerful airguns. Although the heavy weight will lower the velocity they will shoot with greater stability and impact. The triple rings seal the pellet into the bore, and helps lead to less in-flight wobble.

Again out of a QB78 best group was .810" @ 10 meter with open sights Hart hitting pellet first to penetrate my trap (i think due to the point (good thing i had adequate backing!))

Pros
Hits hard groups pretty well, would not be afraid to use this as a good hunting pellet deep penetration

Cons
little pricey for 300 count

Not as accurate as the rest flatheads

My pellet pistols loved this round but my rifles did not. To shot nice no tumble or anything. But shot big groups in my rifles

Pros
Great in the pistols

Cons
Not so good on my rifles

I have a Gamo Big Cat 1400. I love this gun and have found up until now that the Gamo Rocket was by far the best pellet for this gun. I have tried lots of pellets and the Gamo match wad cutter was also very accurate during break in. Now that the gun is broken in it is very accurate and very powerful and I love shooting this gun. Has the great stock, very light and with Hawkes 3X9 32 HD with 3 bolt accu shot mount, stays zeroed and 80 yrd shots all day long with one of my new favorites the Silver Arrow. A liltte cheaper if you get the H&N tins but I bought for of the Beeman so have to shoot these to see if I prefer one over the other. So back to the pellet, 11.57 grain pointed head with a nice fat barrel. These little dudes hit the hardest of any pellet I have shot so far. Very accurate and just make a wicked thump when they hit. Accurate like the Ultra Mag from Cross man but especially wind and longer shots these are my new go to. So impressed with these I bought .25 Cal and look forward to testing those. This is a magnum pellet like the ultra mag you will loose FPS but gain distance and accuracy

Pros
Hardest hitting super accurate good for long shots

Cons
None

Not the most accurate but they do hit hard

Pros
Will pierce a 1/2" plywood

Cons
Not that accurate and the tin is not screw cap

While the Crow Magnums are noticeably more accurate in my QB78 these shoot the tightest groups by-far of the 10+ grain pellets I've tried through it. When the time comes to whack any varmint that isn't a bird these will be my choice. My P3 tends to like lighter pellets in general, and these were no exception. No noticeable difference from other good 10+ grain pellets I've tried. I also tried them in my Gamo spring-gun and can only warn not to expect any miracles if yours shoots as inconsistently as mine.

Pros
Price; Quality; and unlike others - I happen to like the slip-on lids (you can open/close them with one hand)

Cons
None

I'm going to compare several pellets and give them scores, RELATIVE TO EACH OTHER, ranging from 0-10. The pellet gun I'm using is the Benjamin Trail NP .177 caliber. Since my targets are chipmunks, I've only tested this at ranges from 10' out to 30'. I know that's not very far, but my kill zone is less than 1" diameter. Against a chipmunk, stopping power is kind of hard to judge, so I used a coffee can for that. Beeman Silver Arrow. Score - 8. Surprisingly tight groups with no bullet drop out to 30'. Doesn't always penetrate the coffee can and the dent in the can isn't as large as I thought such a heavy pellet would give. RWS Hypermax. Score - 10. There might be better pellets out there, but I haven't tested them yet. Stopping power is hard to gauge here too. Goes right through chipmunk and coffee can. Such a clean hole it almost seem armor piercing. RWS Meisterkugeln. Score - 8. Just as tight group as Silver Arrow and Hypermax. Doesn't penetrate coffee can either, but I'm going to assume a blunt pellet hitting with such velocity at close range is going to be bad news for the poor chipmunk. Crosman Destroyer. Score - 7. Not as tight a group as above, but pretty good and much better that others I've shot. Stopping power? Tumbles in flight so leaves a gaping, jagged hole in coffee can. It does this every time. Crosman Supersonic SSP. Score - 5. Groups are too large to be useful at anything past 10'. Good penetration, but who cares if your not going to hit your target. Crosman Powershot Gold. Score - 0. Bad groups, poor penetration. Usually doesn't expand to fill up pistols rifling. No penetration of coffee can. Remember this is only tested on 1 pellet gun. It might be better on others. RSW Super H Hollowpoint. Score - 5. Fair groups, but pistol doesn't have the velocity to let this expand. Seldom, but sometimes would penetrate coffee can. Gamo Raptor PBA. Score - 5. Kinda same groups as others with this score. Penetrates coffee can with no distortion like Crosman Supersonic SSP and RWS Hypermax.

Pros
Beeman Silver Arrow. Tight groups, no bullet drop out to tested 30'.

Cons
No mushrooming upon impact. Probably does, but transfer of energy on impact isn't obvious.

I bought these to test for the right pellet in my B40 and although these shot well and were accurate the velocity was not were I had wanted it so they were not the best pellet for my gun

Pros
good snug fit in bore and accurate at close range but need to use in higher powered spring guns or PCP gun for best results as they are to heavy for lower powered FT guns

Cons
none

My Dad was having problems with pest birds disturbing the hummingbird feeders, and making a mess on his patio furniture, so I gave him my Diana 34 for a few weeks of pest elimination. I've used these pellets primarily for shooting at water filled pop cans, and the occasional pigeon, but Dad piled up over 30 starlings in an afternoon shooting from a rest inside the kitchen window. They all dropped like a sack of cheeseburgers when hit, and smaller sparrows would erupt in a cloud of feathers. The occasional scorpion in the rocks in the back yard would simply explode into a bunch of parts. Accuracy out to 60-70 feet was perfect.

Pros
Instant kills, no misses. Nothing else like it for tough back yard pests.

Cons
Beeman makes top quality pellets. They need to quit cheaping out with their tins and start using screw-on lids.
