Nice "Big" Pistol
May 21, 2013
I bought this for home practice for shooting my .357 revolver. It is heavier and bigger than my revolver and harder to shoot because of the slower pellet speed compared to the .357 so you have stay on aim longer. I have about 1,000 shot thru it and have the open sights dialed in pretty well. I shoot about 1 3/4" all around my sight point ,standing, off hand at about 30 feet and I think all of it is me moving not the gun moving its aim point. I shoot better than I can off hand, so I am the weak link.
Pros:Big, heavy so it handles and aims like a big "real" pistol. It is accurate at the 30 or so feet that I like to practice at ( across my garage ) shoots most pellets with out much variation (off hand) I am very happy with the Browning Express 800 .177
Cons:front fiber optic was loose and wanted to walk out of the tubes a touch of silicon glue and all better. strong spring = hard to cock, my grown daughters have a tough time working it

This is a big, powerful pistol with plenty of accuracy to satisfy the target shooter. Most of the recoil is absorbed by the anti-recoil mechanism, which is something of a floating grip. The trigger is smooth and crisp. It's not fussy about pellets. The cocking assist lever fits snug onto the muzzle, and it's pretty much a necessity with this hard cocking gun. If ever a gun screamed for a scope stop, this is it. Sighting devices tend to move their way to the back of the dovetail. That said, the Browning is a thoroughly enjoyable gun to shoot, much like a rifle with a pistol grip. I can't seem to get enough of it.
Browning 800 Mag w/NcSTAR DAB Sight

Browning 800 Mag & NcSTAR DAB Sight with Crossman 0.177 Premier Hollow Point Pellet delivers tight 1" grouping at 30ft. Will kill mature squirrel at 30ft. with one shot. Easily all of 650ft/sec. Excellent target and small game pistol. The safety mechanism is very poor, and would not recommend to amateur shooters.

(22 cal) I have a BSA red dot mounted and sited in at 15 yards. At 27 yards, I put the dot on a squirrel€™s chin while using a steady rest the other day. One shot, one kill, he didn€™t know what hit him. This has become my favorite short distance hunting rig. This thing is a beast but off hand I lightly hold it similar to a rifle and can hit my mark quite easily. The only drawback I have is carrying around the cocking assist handle, some mount it to the pistol but I€™d rather not.

Big heavy and a lot of fun. I have wanted a pellet pistol with some real power and this is it. I shredded up a phone book with 300 rounds to break it in and love how it shoots now. I have owned a few rim fire and center fire handguns over the years and I was never able shoot as well as I can with this Browning. I'm sure its because of its weight and the 16" between the sights.

After cleaning the barrel with a few patches, I fired several rounds into a tobacco can. The trigger pull felt comfortable and smooth. Some of the pellets (RWS Superpoint) went all the way through the can. The sights were accurate out of the box with no need for adjustment. Due to the weight of the pistol I used an arm rest to shoot from. Later I made a holster for the pistol out of thick pig skin. I also made a small holder for the cocking device out of the same leather. I really like this pistol.
