The PC (polycarbonate) is used to make the ABS hard and stable drying the cooking cycle (prevents warp). It also makes the ABS impact and scratch resistant. What? No PC in your ABS? Soft (can be scratched with your fingernail), succeptible to warp in the car. Easiest material to process in manufacturing but not very durable.
