I love all desert eagles...

They say it's not the outer package that matters, but the contents inside that matters. It's the case with this, the box it comes will not win u over, but the airgun definitely will. It's plastic body is....well plasticky but the weight makes up if u don't like plastic. It's heavy, solid and fits great in my hand. The blow back is awesome, and the pop it makes when u fire is almost as firing a real firearm. It scared my dog and he didn't come out from under the bed for a whole night. My girlfriend's face when she fired it was priceless. Lol! It's def a mans thing. I love desert eagles and this comes close if u can't own the real thing. The power of the gun puts holes the doors in my house whenever I miss the target. (not because of the guns accuracy) Its very accurate and powerful. I love it, def worth the money.
Pros:I love the blowback and the power...425 fps....perfect....oh and the sound it makes when it fires.Cons:What don't I like? Well just that it's plastic and some parts on the gun aren't functional, which u don't need anyway, but would add to the realism if you are into that. That's it... |

Good Fun Pellet Gun
November 13, 2011
![]()
Fun pellet gun that is accurate from across an average sized suburban yard. Should have been made more like the Airsoft stainless model mixed with the workings of a real Desert Eagle, like a clip style slide in CO2 an mag, or something. Overall Good pellet gun cause it works and is accurate but is not realistic enough for me.
Pros:1. Accurate. 2. Fun. 3. Heavy. 4. Trigger Not Bad. 5. Single & Double Action. 6. Nice Sights In Day Light. 7. Has Style.Cons:1. Blows through CO2 quickly. 2. Safety lever needs to be broken in first then works easier. If not will brake easily. 3. Made of plastic. 4. Expensive. 5. Slide release feels flimsy. 6. Should come with more 8 round mags. 7. Don't like having to use tool to remove CO2. "Surprised I have not lost the tool yet!!" 8. Just don't feel realistic enough for me. |

The cool factor is high and it does seem to be well made. The price is expensive, and having read all the other reviews I did expect it to be more powerful than it is at 20 feet. 3 1/2 stars because of the price and lack of power at 20 feet.

This pistol is unlike any other bb or pellet hand gun that i have ever shot! This is a very loud gun and very fun to shoot.
The one down side is how fast the Co2 Runs out! i will be lucky to get 6 clips in before the co2 is depleted!
I do recommemed this gun to anyone out there that likes to hunt with pellets, this is a great weapon to put your game out of misery, but if your just plinking with it, it isnt worth it!

Desert Eagle pistol

1st pistol - The small ball bearings in the safety mechanism fell out the first time I moved the lever. I filled out the Airgun Depot paperwork and sent the pistol back and AD sent me a new one. 2nd pistol works fine. I'm reluctant to move the safety lever too much, so I don't. The gun handle is very, very big. I wear XLarge gloves and only a couple of my fingers can touch when holding the gun. It is much larger than my 9mm Springfield Armory KD9. Two hand firing is a must for me. As others have said, the gun eats a lot of CO2. Each ammo clip holds 8 pellets. I can shoot almost 5 clips before the gun begins to run out of juice. By clip 6, not much gas is left. It is also very loud, but that adds to the realism. However, you may freak out the neighbors if they are around when you fire the gun. Be sure to tighten all screws before firing especially the safety lever so that the ball bearing don't fall out like they did with my 1st gun.

I bought two of these given the special deal at 120 each. Initially, I regretted it because I thought they were faulty. The guns acted in double action for a short while, then stopped. One gun also suffered from a stuck hammer, that cannot be uncocked.
I was able to fix the stuck hammer by pushing the trigger backwards. I can live with single action only pistols, since it does still shoot. I was dismayed at the extremely inaccuracy of the pistol.
Finally, after a month of shooting, I retract all the negative I initially felt. The gun handles and shoots great, it was the user (me) who was a horrible shot. The stuck hammer and single action can easily be fixed by applying a little lubricant (Crosman Pellegun Oil) inside the mechanical moving parts. Both guns work perfectly, are highly accurate, and are tons of fun to use. Akimbo Deagles :D

Desert Eagle Blowback

This is a "fun gun" to do some plinking. I recommend metal soda pop cans. It is pretty heavy so aiming for long amount of times is not suggested. It is almost impossible to find a holster because this is a huge gun. You might be tempted to stick it in your belt- not recomended. I recommend a leg mount holster. Forget about home protection. Use it for sheer fun of blowing away targets and cans. It is a "Make my day" feel gun. The plastic doesn't bother me because of the huge weight and size. It a thrill to finish off something that your air rifle shot down i.e. squirrel, rabbit, bird. For my requirement I have to install a Co2 cartridge every 32 rounds.

One can have some great fun with this gun, but make sure you buy additional cartridges...they are constructed of too soft a metal, allowing "nubs" that provide for advancing to next shot to distort and keep gun from firing, leaving you dead in the water! Also, this gun eats up CO2 cartridges like candy, so be sure to have plenty on hand. Otherwise, I am really satisfied with the blowback action. Nothing wrong with it being refurbished...its a good buy!

hello well first things first .. i got the t4 crossman pistol, big mistake. so i put a little more money into it and turned out with this gun. im glad i got this it seems to have perfect shots every time. very smooth slide , feels like there is no blow back at all. i will say there is one con :( there is no metal on the gun.
even though every one is conplaneing "it runs out of CO2 to fast .!." i gesses mine is messed up or something because mi dads px4 storm runs out faster and its less power, more recoil. ill get through 8 mags and the PX4 will get through maybe 5 or 6

Mag Research Desert Eagle Blowback .177
July 30, 2010
![]()
I received my new Desert Eagle .177 yesterday. I also have a S&W 586-6 air revolver and started making comparisons right away. The Desert Eagle is pretty neat and shoots well, but the S&W is superior to it in at least 3 ways:
1. Build quality and "feel": The Magnum Research Desert Eagle is of excellent quality, don't get me wrong, but it has a lot more plastic in it (not cheap plastic though), and doesn't quite heft with as much "real firearm" feel to it as the S&W.
2. The magazines for the Desert Eagle are narrower from front to rear of the chambers than the S&W mags by between 1/32 and 1/16 inch, so some pellets that can be used in the S&W cannot be used in the Desert Eagle because they are too long for the chambers. The Beretta Pointed pellets I bought recently are a case in 'point' (pun intended). These look like excellent pellets and I am sure they will work fine in the S&W and in my air rifle, but they won't fit in the Eagle's mags! However, the JSB Diabolo pellets I like so much fit quite nicely and shoot very well. This is the most serious issue I have with this air pistol. I like to use a variety of ammo, and I am not now sure if I can use any pointed pellets in this one. I have some Crossman Pointeds I bought for use in my air rifle against bunnies in the garden, but I haven't checked the fit on those yet.
3. The Co2 cartridge insertion and puncture mechanism is not as slick as on the S&W. It works fine, it just isn't as quick and easy to change out a Co2 cartridge. You have to use a screwdriver-type tool (provided) to remove a brass seating cap, pull out the spent cartridge, drop in a new one, then tighten down the cap again, which provides the puncture and sealing force on the cartridge.
On the plus side, it shoots accurately, and the blowback operation adds to the fun of shooting this thing. After cocking, it is a single action trigger pull and the blowback does re-cock the gun, so rapid-fire shots are no problem. It also works DA on the first trigger pull if you didn't cock the gun, and then SA on each subsequent shot till the mag is empty. From there, after the last round is out, it remains in the cocked position so if you remove the spent mag and drop in a new one, it's cocked and ready to go - like a real semi-auto firearm. I bought 3 extra mags...
It does go through Co2. I could have listed that as a fourth item above, but I expected that to be the case since it IS a blowback model and numerous reviewers pointed that out. But I can shoot 4-5 mags (8 rounds per) per Co2 cartridge, which is about what I expected.
It comes with Picatinny rails top and bottom, and I went and got an integrated laser and tactical flashlight for the thing just for the heck of it. The laser is adjustable for windage and elevation, and once aligned properly, it is a lot of fun to use with this gun. Plus, I can use it on any real firearm I get in the future that might also have these rails, which will be the case at some point!
I was originally going to get one of either the Beretta M92 or Colt 1911 replicas, which are also both blowbacks (and made by Umarex, as is the Desert Eagle and the S&W), but the sale price on the Desert Eagle is what swayed me. I'd like to see how it stacks up to either of those, but I'll be saving my pennies now for a new .40S&W or .45 ACP semi-auto in the near future.
Final comment: the pistol was packaged with an owners manual for a different gun, with enough differences to make the manual virtually useless.

Simply put , yes its big , yes it fairly strong for a co2 long barrel pistol.
I don't want to shoot more than 50 6 (clips)rounds per cylinder.( co2) I think its ideal. Accurate enough a 10 meter to to put every radip fire shot in a silver dollar...that damn good. /edit sometime 65 rd @ 80 + degree's inside

As soon as I opened the box for this pistol, I was blown away at the weight and size of the desert eagle. I did not experience any of the "plastic-y" sensation from the gun.
I purchased the item for visual intimidation and protection from home intrusion.
I must say, I was scared of the sight of the gun the first time I held it in my hand.
The gun is very accurate. Very loud. The blowback is impressive.
The gun does eat CO2, but it is well worth it.
A must have.

Really fun to shoot, and has a nice weight to it.
The safety switch got loose after the first couple uses, so it sometimes falls into the on position after a shot (tightening the screws doesn't help), I think the mechanism could've been designed better. Other than that, it works very nice.

The only thing I don't like about this gun is that it's far too plastic for my liking! Other than that, it has a nice solid weight and good feel. It's nice to hold and fun to shoot! I recieved this gun as a gift, so i do not know where it was purchased. I am very pleased with it's performance. It will puncture a full soda can. I enjoy the blowback feature although it makes this gun feel like a .22 rimfire. I own the real thing in .357 and with them side by side, you can see the small details that Umarex put into the manufacture of this gun. This is a great gun, my son and I enjoy shooting this gun in our backyard and there is no safe place for an empty soda or beer can to hide, especially with the Walther red dot sight on it.

This gun is perfect. it does have a good size handle so it might be hard for some to hold it. it definately has some weight and that makes it more realistic. Most people will love the double action as i do :) DO NOT and i repeat DO NOT buy some of the pointed pellets. some are way too long and wil not allow the rotary clip to turn. They are sending me the new pellets(which are better than what i initiallly ordered) for free and no shipping fees and they said to keep the pointed pellets. Ths site has great customer service and if you buy from here, i can say you will be helped to the fullest of thier extent.
This gun is very powerful so it shouldnt be used to shoot your friends which i know some people will.

Got this monster yesterday and all I have to say is "Damn"! Loads of fun to shoot. Not terribly accurate but let's be realistic here, we're TRYING to be realistic and mimic the real thing. Nit terribly accurate there either, but plenty of stopping power. This CO2 pistol is just plain fun to shoot. The blow back action gives it plenty of kick so it is almost like you're shooting the real thing. Definitely buy a few extra rotary clips as you will blow through a clip in no time what so ever.

All I can say is this is the most accurate and strongest pellet pistol I've ever used in .177 cal. It is big, so if you don't like large guns, this isn't for you. For the big guys...awesome! Beat my walther at the book test. Magnum points went in about 1/3 of the way w/ a 1/4" damage compression. Destroys cans and pests if needed. I also like the mounting rails. It eats almost all .177 pellets, even the pointed ones! which usually jam in other rotory mags. Buy lots of mags and gas! have fun :)

It feels a bit more plastic than expected and I had to get used to the trigger in single action. Other than that, it is impressive, massive, loud, powerful and accurate.
Weight gives it a big moment of inertia (a lot more than a 3576W for instance), making it steadier and easier to aim accurately.
This gun will lose power and a lot of gas when shot in rapid fire, but it's way too tempting.
I guess there is no other way of making a decent gas-powered blowback pistol but having a lightweight plastic slide.

Ok I just got this hardware and put about 64 rounds through it. This is total fun! Unopened soda cans at 25 feet have entry/exit holes and one burst on the front face.... and that was with my CO2 1/2 used! I was using RWS R 10 Match-grade pellets.
The sights were dead on from the factory. And they are adjustable.
This thing *does* eat gas fast. Some guy in the UK wrote on another eval that his would stop firing when it got hot because he got a big wooooossshhh when the action stopped working and he extracted the CO2. He thought the regulator was faulty but I don't think so. That happend to me but I put a new cylinder in and got back to business. It happend after about 32 rounds so yeah but what do you expect. Just order lots of gas! -- and have a gas !!!!
I like the fact it weighs over 2 lbs ... it just feels good and it does help to absorb the slide action.
Double action has creep in it but what the heck I shoot in single action mode anyway so what do I care.

Big freaking handgun
May 5, 2007
![]()
For those reading this, let me state clearly: This isn't some little kiddy toy.
As one might expect of a pellet gun that's built in the shape of the Desert Eagle, this weapon is massive; not just in size, but in weight as well.
The outer shell is made of plastic, with metal parts inside where it counts.
Instead of some fancy removable magazine, the CO2 cartridge fits into a circular port at the bottom of the handgrip, and a threaded brass cap screws in to secure it.
Pressing the magazine release level snaps the main barrel forward slightly, revealing the slot for the 8-shot magazine, just forward of where the shell ejection port is on a real Desert Eagle.
The weapon features both single- and double-action firing, with an exposed rear hammer in case you need to decock it.
The rear sight is adjustable with a small flathead screw, and the safety is accessible from both sides of the weapon.
The top rail is built-in, but the lower rail screws onto the bottom of the barrel with two small screws. Both fit standard pellet gun accessories like flashlights, laser sights, and scopes.
Something to be aware of: this weapon goes through CO2 like a kid through a stack of candy bars. Expect to need a new cartridge every 3-5 magazines.
The upside, on the other hand, is the fairly high muzzle velocity. I've fired at plastic bottles full of spring water and had the rounds go in one side and out the other. Keep that in mind when you're shooting.
A word of warning: this pellet gun has no orange safety markings ANYWHERE. From across the street, it WILL look like a real firearm. Screw around with it at your own risk.
All in all, I was extremely satisfied. I'd recommend this product to anyone who likes large pellet guns.
