Nice rifle!

Forget everything you knew about single pump break barrel pellet rifles. This gun shoots hard and is very accurate to at least 65 yards which is the longest targeting I've done so far, the scope isn't much. Didn't even waste my time trying to mount it, bought an 8-32 x 50 and put it on. Laser bore sighted it and started shooting. Love it! It shoots harder than my 22 rifle.
Pros:
Very powerful, and accurate
Cons:
A little heavy, but not too bad. Scope was cheap and useless. It is loud if your looking for stealth, this isn't it. As loud as a 23 cartridge rifle.

Powerful but Loud
September 3, 2015
At 50' I was able to hit the X ring and the pellet passed through a 1" piece of plywood. Have not had time to take it to a range to give it a real tryout.
Pros:
Powerful not a toy or for use in a subdivision. Would make a great varmint removal weapon.
Cons:
Loud and very heavy.

A new friend, helping me regain some pleasant old memories.
September 1, 2015
A few decades ago, I qualified as an Expert Marksman during the Air Force Basic Training course. I learned how to shoot in my youth, using a, slide-pump, Daisy Mod.# 25. BB gun, a far cry from the M1 carbine they gave us to qualify with during Basic. I've not touched any guns since then, due to life's circumstances, etc. So, I recently retired at 72 years and remembered how much fun shooting used to be. My next step was to purchase a new Daisy Mod. # 25 and a bunch of targets, this didn't satisfy me --- I decided I needed a pellet gun. So,enter the Ruger Air Magnum .22 cal. What a beauty. My only con, is its weight --- it weights more than my M1 carbine rifle. The power and accuracy are more than I hoped for. Pretty soon I'll be popping those bull's eyes just like my younger years.

The beast.
July 10, 2015
I received this Ruger and was surprised at how heavy it was. It has the weight of a real battle rifle. Then I tried to cock it, it is a bear to cock. If you shoot this rifle you will not need to go to the gym. When you cock this rifle it automatically puts the safety on. What a great feature. The safety is right by my thumb on the back of the receiver, so you can switch it off without losing you aim. The safety is very user friendly. Next squeeze the trigger ,, smooth then bam ,great trigger really nice you can't even feel it drop off , just squeeze and bam, what a beast. This gun is an absolute blast to shoot. It hits so hard! I shot a kitchen aid steel fry pan with a extra thick steel plate on the bottom that is for heat dispersion, at 25 feet the pellet shattered and it made a dent that protruded only slightly but still made a bump on the back of the pan. Wow that is the best $100 ever spent. The scope on the other hand is not so good I can't seem to get it to focus. But I have been shooting with open sights which is my preference for my type of shooting.
Pros:
BAM! Great trigger.
Cons:
Not for the weak. Scope was really bad , maybe I is just a bad one.

Not bad for the price

BOUGHT 2 GUNS ONE WORKED FINE THE OTHER WAS RETURNED DUE TO NOT WORKING AT ALL. AIRGUN DEPOT GAVE ME MY MONEY BACK RIGHT AWAY, JUSTIN IN THE RETURNS DEPT. IS A REAL GREAT ASSOCIATE AND IS A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH. I HAVE BOUGHT OVER 15 GUNS IN THE PAST 2 YEARS AND HAVE ONLY HAD PROBLEMS WITH 2 GUNS. THE SCOPES ON THESE GUNS ARE NOT GREAT DUE TO THE STRONG TWANG OF THE SPRING. OK ACCURACY WHEN I PUT ANOTHER SCOPE ON IT. I THINK THERE ARE BETTER GUNS OUT THERE BUT AT 99 BUCKS ITS A PRETTY POWERFUL GUN
Pros:
POWERFUL
Cons:
SCOPE, TWANG OF SPRING. CARFUL OF SOME REFURBS

Coyotes are in trouble now
July 3, 2015
This thing hits like a hammer. I've run about 200 rounds through to sight in the scope and see what pellets it likes. Got a sampler from H&N they were actually too large to fit. Seems to like Predator Mag, Crossman Premier and the Senko New Boy 28 grain (for the coyotes). Blasts through a 2x4 at 30 yards.
Pros:
Beastly load delivery, a hell of a pick up for $99. For the price buy this now. I have no doubt this will be a tack driver once I drop a 'real' scope on her.
Cons:
It is heavy. My wife can barely cock it. I'm 6 foot 4 and 220 lbs - no issues on my end cocking the piston. Also a strong kick but not insurmountable to learn how to keep it on point. As some YouTube videos have stated some pellets want to sit cock eyed in the chamber. Hell for $100, find the pellets it likes to shoot and enjoy yourself. Scope is turd sauce, throw it in the trash and get a leapers.

I'm impressed!
July 3, 2015
Bought this rifle wanting a little more knock down power for the varmits that invade my in town yard. Took about 15 shots to get it zeroed at 100 ft. Packs a wallop! Only issue I have with it is weight. But a good set of shooting sticks solves that. Great gun at a great price.
Pros:
flat shooting, acceptable noise level, well constructed.
Cons:
a little heavy

Minus One Skunk
June 12, 2015
I recently ordered a refurbished Ruger Air Magnum .22 caliber from Airgun Depot. It arrived two days ago. I had planned to take it to the range this weekend to sight it in. Last night I received a call that a friend’s dogs had just had a close encounter with a skunk. I strapped on my .22 magnum revolver as a backup and loaded my un-tried Ruger into the truck along with a can of JSB Monster pellets. I assumed that a refurbished rifle would have been test fired. I assumed that they would have looked through the sights when it was test fired. Thank God they did. Great job guys. I am happy to report a quick and humane one shot kill with my very first shot from my refurbished Ruger. Ken Mosher, II Gonzales, TX
Pros:
Accurate with plenty of power.
Cons:
Very large and heavy, 48" and 9 lbs, unfortunately this is probably unavoidable at this power level.

I love the Ruger air magnum. I own both 1.77 and .22 caliber. They are very powerful rifles and great for pest control because they hit really hard. I guarantee the rifle won't be disappoint!
Pros:
Powerful,Accurate,durable
Cons:
Little Heavy

Very inacurate and inconsistant
February 15, 2013
I am a huge pellet gun hunter. I have always preferred a scope on my gun and my range is 35 yards. It took me 4 hours, I'm not exaggerating, to get this thing to shoot 7 inch patterns at 20 yards. It is pitiful. Another bad thing is the kick on this gun is more then most rifles I own. It is as loud as a 22 rimfire. I bought a 65 dollar refurbished gun from this website and it is no doubt better. The scope that comes with this gun is useless and I had to mount another 80 dollar scope on it and it still wouldn't be accurate.
Pros:
Power
Cons:
Kick Noise Inconsistent Inaccurate Bad scope Hard to load Pellet falls out The list goes on and on...
