Daisy Airguns- Model 880 Pellet Rifle Kit

A great little gun, and accurate too. Forget about using the scope though. The rail that it mounts to is too flexible. Once you get it dialed in, it will change on you. As a matter of fact you can grab the scope after its mounted and flex it on its mount. The only other drawback that I see is when shooting pellets, loading them is difficult.

The 880 is very accurate and reliable. The barrel is %u2018rifled.%u2019 This feature is frequently only found in air guns at twice the price. With 10 easy lever pumps, it delivers an honest 700 fps. Since I use mine for basement target shooting at 33%u2019, I only give it 3 pumps. I have had mine for several years and use it regularly. If you clean yours frequently and tighten the screws occasionally, yours will give you years of faithful service too. For routine cleaning, I just fire a dozen oiled BB's through it once a month. Since gunpowder is not involved, harsh cleaners do not have to be used. A good quality gun oil/cleaner is all that is required to lubricate the cleaning BB's. If you primarily shoot lead pellets, investing in cleaning kit would be good idea. Once a year I spray the barrel, chamber, and trigger assembly a spray with an aerosol %u2018break free%u2019 gun cleaner/lubricant. The scope is a good candidate for replacement. I purchased a 3-9 x 40mm BB gun scope. Yes, it cost as much as the 880, but it makes a huge difference. Without the better scope, I would have never discovered how good my Daisy is! At my target distance, I can group shots in a 1%u201D diameter circle. If you are center fire or rim fire hunter, plinker, or target shooter, this is an excellent practice item. 22 ammo is now over 10 cents per round and hard to find. Larger shells currently are often over 1 dollar a round. BB's are only about a penny a piece and since I shoot into a target trap they are recyclable. As a standalone or for rifle practice it is an overall excellent value. While it is sized and feels like a standard rifle, it is also suitable for younger users (With Adult Supervision). It is NOT a toy. Even though it is reasonably priced it is powerful, especially when pellets and 10 pumps are involved.

I bought this gun to keep squirrels out of the bird feeder. Problem is, is that you cannot hit a three foot square with this piece of junk.

For a relatively inexpensive air gun, I found it powerful, accurate, and easy to use. As a baseline, I had a Red Ryder 69 years ago, but since then I have primarily used target pistols and shotguns. The Model 880 was far superior to my memories of the Red Ryder.

I had this gun for 2 years before I moved up and bought a more powerful airrifle. I loved this gun. If you're not a hunter type, with this gun you can target shoot and it will do the job. For the hunting purpose this gun is great. I took out many birds with this gun. I killed a dove with a head shot, a lot of it was luck but the gun still did the job. For kids I think this is a perfect gun. The cocking of the gun is very smooth and easy for little children. The scope that comes with it is garbage if you want to see farther. However, kids would just want it to show off so it is a good scope for them. The gun is extremely light. This gun is also really durable I once dropped it from 15 feet from my stand in a tree I made, I thought for sure it was done for. When I got down it was still in perfect condition.

I had this same model in the 1970's as a young teenager. It was a real trip back in time for me. I attatched a small envelope to my clothesline and sat 70 feet away on my patio. It took about 100 shots to fine tune the scope. Now I rarely miss. 5 pumps. I pinged a few groudhogs and don't expect them back in the yard. They seem to understand me now. Cool gun! Feels good, light and well made. I highly recommend it.

I bought this for myself and i have never owned a Pellet/BB gun. Its very accurate and very powerful on small game and "Pest Control". I recommend Crosman Destroyers and Gamo Rockets.

this pellet gun is very fun to shoot . It can kill small varmints with ease ,but should pump it 10 times for max velocity and knock down power. I can knock down cans from 40 yards with iron sights and scope .The scope is cheep and takes me a good 30 min to sight in . I recomend the hollow points and the pointed pellets. Over all this is a great gun and good for kids

If you want to know this guns ability, I killed a raccoon in the woods today with it. I was sniping at it from about 75 feet, and got about 4 to 5 shots that hit. When my friends arrived, they were really amazed. We ran at it with my 880, a crosman pumpmaster, and a crosman c11 pistol. It took less then 2 minutes after their arrival to kill the raccoon, and I, with my Daisy 880, got the kill shot. I counted an estimated 54 shots hit it! But, if you get it in the right place, it only takes about 5 shots at the most! I also managed to scope it in and hit a double A battery from 100 feet away! Amazing gun, worth the price, I have had no problems with it at all! Absolutely amazed!

Gun is very good. Accurate with iron sights. Telescopic sight will not adjust sufficiently to be accurate. Don't know if it's defective but you just cannot adjust for elevation sufficiently - it shoots high. Other than that, good value.

I bought one of these guns today and it is VERY powerful and amazingly accurate. If I were you I wouldn't even bother with the scope it comes with, Its very cheap. I personally put a red dot sight on mine and it works perfectly, This is a must buy!!

Just bought this rifle yesterday and I was very surprised that a cheap pellet rifle would be as great as it is. This thing is very accurate straight out of the box. I am using it with open sights because it is so accurate. Shooting this Daisy Powerline 880 while using open sights, I can spin the cap off of a bottle at about fifty feet with just five pumps. Very Impressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ive had this gun for like 4-5 years now i just wanted to let people now the plastic is very brittle my nephew dropped it about 6 inches off the ground trying to pump it up and i picked it up the scope fell off (the scope is garbage anyways) but i liked the iron sights better more accurate oh and my brother his sights broke off when he shot it be careful and use extra care when dealing with these guns

bought this rifle 3 years ago because i had a squirrel in my attic, chewing up my insulation. was a interesting encounter up there , but after 2 shots the little guy was down. and my problem was solved, great rifle for the money

today i was in the woods. i killed 3 birds and a grond hog with my led flat headed pelits i thing there the best because every game i shot dies in 1 shot!

This gun is great for the price. I am an adult who uses it to shoot pests in my backyard. I own many high end centerfire rifles that I shoot regularly. This low powered pellet gun compares favoreably. The scope that came with it is crap but if you actually take the time to sight in the opens (off a rest) I can hold 1/2 groups at 33 ft, the recommended shooting distance in the manual. Its a pellet gun not a .22, marksmenship goes a long way here.

For it's price, it's accuracy and power are both incredible. Only down side that I've noticed is the plastic it's made of is somewhat cheap. I'd say just don't manhandle it too much.

very good gun but is hard to load pellets in if you have big hands but I have had my gun for a month and have had no problems with ist is a very very powerful gun and the sight is very accurate if you like a scope i would reccomend getting a 4-32 scope but otherwise a very good gun

i got this gun today and it was a relly cool. I killed a rabbit i seen him in the woods and shot him in the face and it killed him. i killed birds to and squirrels

got this gun on about 9/15/10 had a few practice shots then finally saw the squirrel i had been waiting for, 10 pumps, about 40-50 feet away in the tree, i got him right in the chest. scope worked out great i know a lot of people have been bashing it, but if you take the time to sight it its actually not THAT bad unless your 30+ yards out. i would definitely recommend this gun for almost anything from targets to small rodents/varmint

Great gun! This gun will take out almost any kind of pest you can think of. scope is okay but its better without it. so accurate i shot a dragonfly 15 feet away without the scope guts splattered everywhere. Also very powerful for game i would recommend this for a starter gun!

Excellent gun for a cheap price. Fairly accurate and very powerful, blew holes in fairly thick concrete boards. Scope is complete crap do not use; looks adjustable (moving windage and elevation screws) but absolutely isn't. P.S. Don't buy at Walmart, spend the cash here and get the wicked cool starter kit, you won't regret it. (Walmart version doesn't have fiber optic so is hard to aim.)

Don't under estimate this gun. I have a problem with racoons in my neighborhood, and have killed 3 using an 880 .177. I'm close, less than 30 feet, but it can do it. Will be getting large caliber.

I got this airgun for christmas and as of now I am very satisfied with it. I have taken down a sqirrel on second shot at about 100 feet away and another on the first shot at 60 feet. I have also brought down several birds on first shot. On another occasion, with only his head in site, I killed a rat on first shot at 40 feet! And these shots were with the cheap scope that you get with it. If you buy a better scope (the one that comes with it isn't bad considering all you pay for the whole kit) you may be able to get even better kills with it. Although not powerful enough for game larger than rabbits this gun is great for small game and plinking.

This is an awesome gun, spot on accurate, awesome scope, kinda makes your arm tiered though.

this gun is good for beginners. my friend has this kit, i doubt it can kill squirrels but can kill birds, the scope fits this short range rifle great. nothing special, but great for the money.

the model 880 shadow is a great gun.This gun as great stoping power for squirrels at 30 to 50 yards,they will flop around a little bit,but you still get the harvest.The pumping is not a problem when you get use to it.Overall great gun okay power and cheap price get this gun

This gun is great accuracy without the scope. Amazing from short range. Lasted me 2 years, but then totally fell apart.

I have owned the Powerline 880 gun for 27 years!! Now my son is enjoying the same. Unless they have redesigned this gun since 1 pump or 10 it has always been accurate and easy to shoot. A must for any shooter learning the ropes. My son is six and he can pump and properly aim the gun. Any younger than that I would think it may be too heavy.

I bought this rifle because rabbits and squirrels were becoming a nuisance to my fruits and vegetables. First rabbit was shot at 10 yds away with a bb. It blew a hole in its chest, ran about 10 feet and dropped. First squirrel was shot at about 15 yds and dropped dead. Second rabbit at about 20 yds., ran about 10 ft and dropped dead. No scope was used. Only used bb's. Pumped rifle 10x each time. Pretty darn accurate gun. May need a better scope than the 4x15mm it came with.

This is an awesome gun. Pros: Good accuracy with top of the line products. Definite Knockdown Power (Took out 8 birds on my friends property yesterday.) Shot a bird from 30 yards out standing and dropped it. Cons: 10 Pumps (You better make it one shot one kill.) Pretty weak scope. (I bought another 3-9 zoom one and it is so much better.) Great gun and extremely good accuracy if you use beeman or rws pellets. They are expensive pellets but if you try them you won't want to go back to anything else.

this gun is sick, the scope it comes with is horrible so i shoot with out it. it can do the job of small pest control very well and its very accurate- i can hit birds out to 20yrds so great gun beginner or pro gun.

I have had this gun for five years and it was the first gun i ever got. it has excellent power and amazing accuracy even without a scope. The scope this gun comes with is a piece of crap so i bought a Winchester 3-9x32 scope for it adn it made all the difference in the world. Buy this gun it is cheap, accurate and powerful

This gun is very accurate with the iron sites. the scope is hard to get sited in but once there it works ok. The power is awsome. I love the fact that you can pump it 3 times and have yourself a very accurate low velocity gun. If you have troubles loading pellets due to the poor design of the chamber erea , try using a pair of tweezers to load the pellets.

Great gun. Realistic feel, quality parts, good accuracy. The scope is confusing to work with, but it looks cool. I have had this gun for about 4 yrs, and it still works great. I recommend this gun.

This was my first pellet rifle, and I bought it when I was 12 years old. I shot it probably about 200 times a day for the first three months I owned it ( Iwas excited). Later I saved up and put a Tasco 4x20 scope on it (I had the stripped brown model) I hunted with it year round, quail, dove, crows, rabbits -you name it... The only problem I had was over a period of time/cleaning, the gun oil made the plastic brittle and it cracked one day when I put the scope back on. All in all, a great air rifle... well worth its value!

i got this gun satuday,i shot 20 birds since,it great and accurate. For a clean kill use hollow and pointed pellets.

This gun is great i dont like the scope though it is not so good if u bump it. But still a great gun. A great buy.

ONLY RECEIVED THE RIFLE LAST NIGHT SO A VERY OBJECTIVE REVIEW WOULD BE HARD BUT THE ONLY THING I SEE BEING A SLIGHT PROBLEM IS SIGHTING IN THE SCOPE .... TOOK MAYBE 15 SHOTS AND THE PATTERN WAS "HORRIBLE" BUT AGAIN ONLY MESSED WITH IT FOR 1/2 AN HOUR .... OTHER THAN THAT SEEMS VERY DURABLE & POWERFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!

i haved owned this gun for a while. out of may many other guns this has the most accuracy. very nice shot. fun, accurate, powerful except the one thing i would change about it is that you have to pump it 10 times for maxiumum fps. for me thats to long!!!
