NEW! .22 caliber Benjamin Dual Fuel PCP & CO2 rifle- hand pump included.
Airgun Depot Review:
We've been testing the new Discovery PCP now for a few weeks and boy, have we been impressed! We were up and shooting in less than 5 minutes. PCP airguns have been way too complicated in the past with a vast assortment of probe adapters, pumps, attachments, hoses etc. With the Benjamin Discovery everything has been simplified. Simply hook up the gun to the pump, give it about 100 pumps to fully pressurize it and your're ready to shoot. We were able to get about 35 full power shots before the FPS started to drop off. That's enough for any hunt or pest control outing. Another aspect of the gun that really impressed us was it's accuracy. Groupings were well under 1 inch even out to 50 yards! you can expect .3" groups at about 25 yards. We also liked the fact that you can leave this air rifle charged so it's ready to go whenever you are. It's actually better for the airgun to have pressure in it.
We mounted our test rifle with a Centerpoint 3-9X40 scope with illuminated reticle and with this scope the gun is a joy to shoot. No recoil whatsover and near hole through hole accuracy at 25 yards. The gun is lightweight at just over 5 lbs and with a scope mounted it brings it to about 6 lbs which makes for easy handling and enjoyable shooting. If you're looking for a great gun for pest control or small game hunting this is the rifle for you. It's also a fun gun to just plink around the yard with.
Info from Crosman:
Get into precharged guns at an unheard-of price and also get the accuracy of an expensive European target rifle! Benjamin has bridged the gap and taken the pain out of PCP guns. Not only is this as low a price as you'll ever find on a PCP/hand pump combo, but it's so easy to pump up that a wispy teenager could do it! The Discovery has raised the bar for PCP guns because it uses only 2000 psi of air. What this means for you is less pumping! You can have your gun fully charged in less than 5 minutes. While the European companies race toward higher and higher air pressures, Benjamin is going the opposite direction and making it easier than ever to use a hand pump. If you want to use a scuba tank or carbon fiber tank, you can do that, too.
The Discovery gives you a choice! The gun comes with a magnificent walnut stock made especially for it. It also has Williams fiber optic front and rear sights and a built-in air pressure gauge. Included in the package is a hand pump that's easy to use and very clear on showing you when you've reached maximum operating pressure. When you open your box, you'll see easy-to-follow and easy-to-understand instructions that'll lead you step-by-step. If you're an experienced PCP user, you'll soon see that the Discovery is the easiest PCP you've ever used. If you're new to PCPs, you'll become a pro in just a few short steps. If you want to switch to CO2, that's easy to do. There's a special tool that lets you quickly and safely exhaust all the high-pressure air (or you can just shoot the air out). Attach the optional CO2 adapter (separate purchase), connect it to a paintball CO2 tank and fill 'er up! Now, commence to shootin'! With high-pressure air, you'll get about 35 powerful shots before you need to pump up again. On CO2, you'll get a lot more. The Discovery is manufactured and built in the U.S.

This a grand slam!!!

I had a difficult time choosing between the Discovery and Marauder. I am a small game hunter and I thought the Marauder might be a little heavy to carry all day. I chose the Discovery mainly because of its weight. I am very pleased with this gun! This is a very good shooter! I read many reviews on this gun before buying and I must say it's hard to describe how great this gun really is. I have a 10 meter range set-up in the basement. I shot several targets. This gun will put shots in the same hole every time at this distance. Wow! No BS! I won't compare this gun to others of the same price. It would not be fair because they can't hold a candle to this one. I have had many air rifles in my life (61 yrs), and have only found 1 that I really love. I have been shooting BB and pellet rifle since I was old enough to hold one. I sold an RWS 48 because it was not accurate and was so heavy. It was a real chore to carry it all day to miss shots half the time. I wouldn't own another one if someone gave it to me. I also have a Ruger air Mag and it's not much better. Yes, I used the artillery hold and every other hold you can think of. I wanted a gun that you could shoot without having to think of the way you hold it. The hold seems to be more important than good shooting practices. I can't wait until the next hunting season. Until then, there will be a lot less of those
pesky starlings around my house. Crosman you hit a grand slam with this one. I would buy a 25 cal if you ever produce one.
Pros:After my experiences with air rifles, I would have to say I would be ashamed of myself if I said anything bad about this gun!Cons:Not one thing. |

Marauder Rifle and Pistol

I have both versions of this fine gun. After experiencing the power and accuracy of these weapons, I am sure you would agree that a scuba fueled .22 pellet gun is the best there is. I have the rifle\extended grip on the pistol with a Center Point 6X32 AO RGB Mil-Dot scope mounted and you can drive tacks with it. If you were to choose one or the other, get this setup instead of the rifle which, though super quality, is quite heavy and suited for a mono pod or other support if you are moving around a lot. The pistol holds a couple less pellets (8) in the rotary clip (a very nice feature that you will never want to do without once you become accustomed to magazine pellet shooting), while being able to shoot multiple clips before re airing the gun off of a scuba tank. The small portable tank is great for field conditions.
This gun is lethal when 2100 psi remains in the tank, I usually air at 2200 psi when down from approximately 3000 psi full. I have often put 3200 psi in the gun. At 2200 psi you can shoot clean through most small game. I dispatched 6 rabbits in one afternoon as I did not care to share my garden with them. Someone commented that the triggers are plastic, mine are steel and the guns are well made. The synthetic stock on the pistol is quite cool looking. Serious guns for serious shooters. Pic is of the pistol with scope and stock. Shoots as good as a rifle.
Pros:Consistently accurate, powerful and well made. Multi shot (10 in rifle and 8 in pistol) rotary clips for quick bolt throw shooting. As I, you will never want to shoot anything else.Cons:Nothing. Rifle heavy. |

This is my first PCP and all I can say is wow! Very easy to use and set up. I had it out of the box and shooting in an half hour. This will be great for me on my squirrel hunts.
Pros:Very light and pack-able. Good open sights. Clear and readable gauge.Cons:Would like if it came with swivels for a sling. |

Great gun. I'm new to airguns and needed this for pests. It was self explanatory right out of the box. Shoots tight groups with iron sights. I haven't missed yet. The longest shot has been at least 50 yds. My only complaint would be with myself for not getting the marauder, there has been several times I could have got off one or two more shots.
Pros:great value accurateCons:tough for myself to reload fast during combat |

Great Gun!

I read a lot of positive reviews prior to purchasing this airgun. I finally bought one and am very glad I did, money well spent. I put a 3X9 BSA .22 Special scope on it, and cannot believe the accuracy! At 15 yards, I could put 3 shots through almost the same hole. At 25 yards, I could keep all 3 shots within the size of a penny. The gun is definitely accurate.I use it to shoot starlings, and haven't missed one since I sighted it in. Be aware that it does take a bit of pumping to use the gun, definitely all of 100 pumps when you first get the gun and the tank is completely empty. Once you fill it up though, I takes about 2-3 pumps for every shot you take. I can easily get 20 shots before the gauge is on 1000psi. Like I said, a very good purchase for the money, especially if you buy the gun/ pump combo.
Pros:Cost, accuracy, features (comes with iron sights, built in pressure gauge), power, finish of stock, just about everything.Cons:Not much to dislike. It maybe considered "loud" depending on where you live. I don't think it is much louder than spring airguns I have shot. Don't think it is as loud as a .22 rifle. No really a complaint though. |

I wanted a quality air rifle to give to my son for his birthday. If you subtract the price of the pump, the Discovery is a very affordable. It is light weight, easy to shoot, and accurate right out of the box. I had to turn the verticle sight adjustment almost all the way in to zero at 20 yards. Later I added a nylon shim beneath the rear sight so I could back it out. I would have to put a scope on it to see how it groups. For now it is more accurate than I am with open sights. Made a nice head shot on a fox squirrel with it this morning. Plenty of power for small game. Fit and finish is excellent for the price. Great small game rifle for my son to grow into and shoot for many years.
I have since ordered a Marauder for myself. The pump is well built and will work for both rifles. Previously I bought a nitro-piston and was not happy with the accuracy. Airgun Depot was good to deal with and refunded the price. Thanks
Pros:Package includes everything needed to start shooting Light weight and accurate Twenty plus shots between fills Pump requires minimal effortCons:A little loud for backyard shooting Plastic trigger just because it is plastic |

Pros:accuracy out of the box was very good and i expect it will improve with use. The pump worked well and you get about 30 shots with a 2000# fill.Cons:the stock came with some rough spots that should have been sanded before the finish was completed. this marred an otherwise great product. |

Mounted a UTG 3x9x40ao ts platform scope. Needs high mounts. Zero'd at twenty yards. Accurate right out of box. Crossman Premiers. Will shoot thru 1/2" plywood. I like a lot better than break barrels, (break in and hold sensitvity ). I wish I'd have bought this first. Using for pest control, practice, plinking, and fun.
Pros:Light ,powerful, accurate, easy to use. It didn't take as many pumps as specified in manual. Pause for a second on both the up stroke and down stroke. Nice stock.Cons:A little loud. Could have been better blueing. |

Great Gun
November 22, 2011
![]()
The main reason I purchased the .22 Discovery was because it is one of the very few PCP air rifles
with sights on the barrel. The others force you to also purchase a scope. The second reason was that
it is bundled with the pump, so the cost of entry into the PCP style of shooting is less than buying a gun
and pump a-la-carte. It took 78 pumps to bring the Discovery up to 2K PSI out of the box. The effort
wasn't bad at all. The pump pressure gauge and gun pressure gauge agreed. I can get 20-25 shots keeping
the gauge in the green zone and another 5-9 shots into the yellow. Pretty good. After that, it takes
me 55 pumps to bring the gun back up to the maximum green zone at 2K PSI. I really like the fiber optic sights.
The green dot is small as compared to my Phantom 1000 springer, which makes the Discovery more accurate
at greater ranges, because it covers less of the target. As a side note, Ace Hardware sells a nice pen style
screwdriver with two blade nibs and one fits the Discovery site screws nicely and you can keep it in your shirt
pocket. This gun is loud, more like firing a .22 short, but it isn't that bad. This gun is very, very accurate.
I set up a Champion bullet trap at 20 yards and tried RWS Superpoints, RWS Superdomes and Crosman Premiers
(Brown Box). The Crosman Premiers were very good, with groups about 1"-1.25". The RWS Superpoints shot about
4" low and 2" to the right and had wider groups at around 2.5". The Discovery really liked the RWS Superdomes. Very
tight groups about the size of a quarter at 20 yards and the groups were all a single hole - no outliers. I also
liked the trigger pull - smooth and easy. I also bought a hard shell case. With this type of case, it is easy to
put the gun into the open case on the ground and refill the air with the gun in the open case instead of placing
the gun on the ground. I am 6'2", so the Discovery's stock is a tad short for me, but not bad. I may add a recoil pad
just for adding length. There is very little to no recoil with this gun. All in all - a very nice package indeed.
Benjamin - well done!!!
Pros:Very accurate, easy to pump-up, sights on the barrel, powerful, no recoil.Cons:Little loud, like a .22 short, but there are muzzle brakes available. Stock a little short - maybe add a recoil pad. |

posting more info about this rifle after a few months of owning it...i still love this gun, and it still shoots under an inch at 50 yards consistantly, if i found better pellets, it would shoot even better. it works great on cotton tail rabbits, head shots are easy, and body shots are still very deadly if placed in the heart or lungs, no worries there. i have taken out several large ferral cats, that sneak into our chicken coop at night....one shot and they are done. 70+ yard shots are easily achieved on starlings if there is low wind, i have made over 15 kills at that range with this gun, one shot. the gun is very light, even with the 3-9 scope, around 6 lbs. I live at 7,000 feet elevation, and up here it does take more pumps to fill it, around 60-70 once it is in the yellow, but still well worth it, and very fun. I have a friend that has an rws 48 in .177, and he keeps trying to get me to trade....i wont do it, i can out shoot him with this gun lol you wont find a better deal on a pcp.....this gun is simply amazing in the air rifle realm.

First off I would like to say that airgun depot is awesome to work with. I first ordered an rws 34p combo with 4x scope, and when I got it, accuracy was horrible. I thought it may be a break in period, but it never got better, only about 3-4 inch groups at 10 meters, so after 500 shots, I sent it back as defective and got a replacement. And to my disbelief, the second rifle was just as bad, and it just got worse. at 30 meters, I shot 30 shots and it was over 9 inches! I shot it with the scope and the iron sights, so it was the gun. I informed airgun depot, and they took it right back and refunded my money, and I was so pleased with their customer service, I decided to get a much better rifle from them. so, I ordered this rifle. I am very happy with it, right out of the box it shot around an inch at 50 yards with crossman premier, and after I added a second barrel band at the end of the barrel (as you can move the barrel with one finger if you dont do this) it slightly tightened the group, and now it will easily shoot 5 shot groups under 3/4 inch at 50 yards. I actually average about half inch groups. I have a 3-9 centerpoint scope on it. the trigger is not the best, a long squeeze and about 4-6 lbs, but is easily shootable, and it can be remidied with aftermarket parts or if you have some gunsmithing knowledge. It is a very hard shooting gun, after a 5 shot group at 50 yards in a cluster it goes completely through a rough cut 2x6, I have it sighted in at 50 yds, and have made shots on starlings out to 77 yards so far with use of the mil dots on the scope this is a very good rifle, and I highly recommend getting it from airgun depot

This is a great buy. I also own the RWS350 .22 , & RWS mod 48 .177 which are excellant guns. However, I find myself turning more often to the discovery. I have been air rifling for 20 yrs. Its a great way to keep proficient for little money and without having to travel to a riflerange. The discovery is so easy to shoot. Absolutely No recoil. The spring loaded rifles have a back and forth recoil that while it doesn`t hurt your shoulder, it does hurt your aim once you get to 900 fps. It takes great concentration to be consistent with the spring loaders. Tell you what they also change the point of impact on any scope after a certain amout of shooting. Not so with discovery. If you just want to plink away, the discovery .22 is so consistent, you spend more time enjoying shooting, instead of constantly refining point of impact of your scope. The other major difference is it`s weight. So light and easy. I can consistantly hit the circle on a pepsi can at 75 paces, and I`m 6-foot- 5. The initial charge up requires a lot of pumping, but after that its just 15 to 20 pumps after 20 -30 shots. I like to keep it in the green. O2 tanks eliminate that even. If you enjoy air rifles htis is the right weapon for you.

The discovery is a great air rifle. It looks awesome and is the perfect weight. And it is very comfortable to hold and shoot. But, it is very loud. Much to loud to shoot in the city. But you can order a muzzle brake for it from www.tko22.com and it will be quieter than the Daisy Powerline 880. Over all it is the best the best gun to get you started is pcp.

My Discovery

Just got my Benjamin Discovery and I would like to say Bravo Benjamin and a big thank you to Chris in returns at Air GunDepot for all you did to make things right. Wow what an awesome gun. First off this gun is wildly accurate. I shot at 20 yds first. 1st 5 shot group was ".331, 2nd 5 shot group was ".204. Then naturally feeling like I had just bought a match rifle instead of a $400.00 hunting rifle I shot a 10 shot group that measured ".265. Then out to 50 yds. After I shot a 5 shot group at 50 that measured ".589 I can assure you this rifle is for real. Shooting centerfire benchrest has taught me how to shoot but the gun has got to be able to shoot also. People this gun dose shoot. One thing however, this rifle certainly deserves at least a 4-12 scope.
I would like to have seen a rubber butt pad and installed swivle studs but so far I am thrilled with this gun.
Later this week I will try charging it up with CO2 and see how it does.
Great Gun, Great place to buy the gun, great people behind the place, They all deserve a 5 star rating!

You will need 3/8" dovetail mounts (also referred to as 11mm). I would recommend a two-piece mount to maintain clearance for feeding pellets.By Max from Vancouver, WA on January 27, 2012
Answer:
I'am using high profile Two Piece rings (11mm dovetail). That gives me more room for the fingers to insert the pellet. Also high profile rings give some space between scope objective and barrel, which is good if you will find that you run out off clicks for scope elevation, and will need to put a shim under rear ring to solve this problem. For PCP there is no need to use a rail system because there is no recoil at all. My rings have never moved or came loose. With my setup I'am able to put pellets to the same hole at 20 yards.
Hope this will help
