The Stoeger X50 is the magnum choice for all air rifle chores and challenges, from plinking and target shooting to pest control and small-game hunting. A robust, spring-piston, break-action system gives you the power to drive .22 alloy pellets at a potent 1200 feet per second. The airgun has an ergonomic cocking grip that assures fast and easy, single-stroke charging on each and every shot. The blued-steel, rifled barrel provides accuracy and years of service. It comes with standard, fiber-optic front and adjustable rear sights. Target acquisition is quick and easy with red front and two-dot, green rear fiber-optic inserts. All X50 receivers feature an integral dovetail scope-rail. For added security, the X50 features an automatic, ambidextrous safety, easily accessible on the rear of the receiver. The trigger assembly can be screw-adjusted for second-stage length. X50 models are mounted in Monte Carlo-style stocks for improved control and target acquisition. The raised, ambidextrous cheek-piece lets you shoot comfortably, regardless of hand preference. Checkering on the pistol grip and fore-end ensures a firm grip in wet weather. A rubber butt-pad provides a solid shoulder mount.

Excellent sniper from a prepared position! Zeroed at 60 yards, average group is .75". Using JSB 14.3 domes. Dropping small game at 80 yards. It's louder than normal, cocks easy, sights in quickly. Have had zero issues with it. Great rifle.

Pros
Power, accuracy, weight stabilized.

Cons
Just a little loud.

Had a defective X20 so stoeger asked if I wanted this, I said H yes. With scope black synthetic stock. I love wood but this looks great too. Adjusted scope for my eye relief and tightened screws and about 15 shots later I was on, I had a rocker recliner for a rest so it was really hard to hold steady. Only bad thing was front sight wasnt glued on good and I felt it when I cocked it so removed and glued it on good with black 3m weatherstrip glue. Its on now. I am getting ready to go out and shoot again. After about 60 shots I sprayed wd 40 in barrel and blew out with compressed air, I knew the first shot would be hot but now that its clean its going thru a metal chair at 60 ft. Shot thru same hole twice wed, but it may have been luck. Get a good rest set up and you wont put it down.Easy to cock too,I was worried about that until I got it,barrel is so long its a breese, you can feel it but if you ask me the stoeger X20 short barrel was just as hard or harder.Skip the X50 unless its too heavy for you or younger shooters. Here I go.

Pros
Very hard hitting gun, highly recommend the 22 cal or even 25. But 22 pellets more readily available. Its long and heavy but worth it. The video by you know who must have had a bad gun.Plus he did a 177, but the problems he described is what my X20 were doing. You get a great one or bad nothing in between but Stoeger really takes care of you, they send you shipping label so you dont pay.Mine went in twice so they gave me a new gun and I wisely chose the X50 TERMINATOR.

Cons
Heavy and long

Bought this somewhere else, was my first air rifle Very accurate, altho each diffrent sort of pellet goes a bit in it's own direction even for a starting shooter it's easy to make nice coin-size groups pretty fast...was very happy with the scope too. It's loud, specially the spring, neighbors didn't like it that much Has a good solid feel to it, but is a heavy & long rifle...needs some strength to keep steady on target Trigger pull is very long, but when shooting with a rest, it's easy to set it till right before it goes off it's pretty far away too, I found it hard to reach that far & hold a comfortable grip while doing so

Pros
accurate + good scope hits hard price

Cons
heavy & long trigger grip needs a lot of cleaning

The Stoeger X50 Is my favorite pellet gun. It is amazingly powerful and accurate with blazing speeds with or without PBA pellets. This gun usually shoots Crosman Pointed and Destroyer pellets supersonic. Good pellets include: Lead free pellets like Crosman Fast Flight Penetrators have passed right through 3 mm of aluminium and kept right on going. Gamo Rockets are able to penetrate up to 1 mm of stainless steel. JSB Exact Monsters are high mass and benefit fro extended effective range. Overall this gun seems to prefer: JSB Exact Monsters, Crosman premier Hollowpoints and crosman domed pellets. When I received this rifle it dieseled maybe for the first 3-5 shots then quieted down a little but was and is still quite loud with its large spring. I've had to do very little work on this rifle to keep it in great condition with only the fiber optics needing tightening out of the box. I was able to put 8 pellets in a dime sized group standing from 40 feet. The scope works fairly well with my being able to shoot golf balls with moderate effort at 25 yards (I'm not a big fan of scopes and thus relatively inexperienced with them as of yet). This gun is also deadly with a test using dead fish yielding nickle to quarter sized holes in the fish using Crosman Destroyers. Due to its high power it is possible to use pellets that were formerly reserved for PCPs like the 16 grain H&N Rabbit Magnum II which weighs more than the average .22 caliber pellet. Most pellets shot from this gun can penetrate 3/4 inch wood at 10 yards and still retain a significant portion of their kinetic energy. Animals that can be hunted with this gun range from mice to (reported ) deer and sheep with a well placed head shot. I highly recommend this gun due to its cheapness and high power with only its stiff clunky trigger detracting from my approval of it.

Pros
Extremely powerful. Accurate with both scope and fiber optic sights. Compatible with many brands and types of ammo. Screws stay tight for a long time without locktite or other similar substances.

Cons
Heavy. Barrel fouls with large amounts of lead quickly due to high speed of pellet in barrel regardless of pellet hardness. VERY loud. Trigger is stiff and unpredictable when firing.

Great gun had mine for two years now. Easy to break open by just a sharp whack on the end of the barrel. Took me a while to work this out too.

Pros
Great distance gun.

Cons
Could be quieter but means business.

I have had the Stoeger X-50 for over a year and put around 2000 pellets through this gun and it has never let me down. The gun is easily accurate up to 50 yrds with the Stoeger 3-9x40 scope. I have shot pellets ranging from light weight alloys to 16 grain pellets and have had no jams or problems at all. For alloy pellets I would recommend the stoeger x-speed alloys. They seem to have the best grouping in this gun of all the alloys I tried. Average speed with alloys is around 1250 to 1300 fps. I was able to achieve a high speed of 1553 fps by dieseling the pallet ( I would not recommend doing this as it can damage your gun. ) With alloy pellets this is a very loud gun. Egual to a .22. If shooting in town use a heavier grain to slow the pellet down for less noise. This is a hard to cock gun. It is like a gym work-out and a day of shooting all in one. Used to it now and can shoot all day with out any repercussions. This is also a big and heavy gun. (just look at the specs.) I always shoot it on a bag to rest on or a bi-pod for best results. I think of this more as a sniper rifle then a hunting in the woods rifle. I added a high end laser pointer that shows up at 50 yrds and flash light for night shooting to the gun scope. Every time I take this gun to the outdoor range I end up with a crowd wanting to know about this rifle. They are always amazed to find out it's an air rifle and these guys are shooting military grade weapons and they get excited when I let them try it out. This gun is by far the best gun for the money. I now consider myself a stoeger only airgunner

Pros
This is as good as it gets for break barrel airguns.

Cons
The only con is that I wish they would make the x-50 with a suppressor on the barrel.

Great rifle for the price. It has a high quality scope that utilizes a distance focus as well as a diopter adjustment. It is very accurate, smooth trigger pull and looks like a big game hunting rifle. On the down side, the cocking action requires a muscular arm, 58 lbs, compared to the usual 30 on other guns, but it does fling pellets at 1500 fps .A competitors rifle puts em out at 1600fps, but costs $200.00 more. The other downers are: To break the action to cock the rifle, it takes considerable force to start the cocking stroke, I crack the gun across my knee to break the barrel free before I cock it. Maybe this will break in with use,[ I hope so].The other is the weight, at 81/2 lbs it weights as much as my M14 did in the Army, the barrel is made of all steel, [ my other air gun is a 22, comes in at 5 lbs. and has a steel liner in a poly barrel, with a 30 lbs cocking effort. Maybe the steel barrel is a design feature to withstand the high cocking effort. I still like this rifle, and would recommend it to anyone as long as I could explain the factors that they should be aware of.

Loudness? No rating in the specs.

asked bob

This gun can be fairly loud depending on the weight of the projectile fired. A 14gr pellet (for example) can be just as loud as a standard .22 rifle. This gun does much better with the heavier pellets @ or above 21gr . In my experience. 21gr is much quieter but still a little on the loud side.
