Protect your Air Venturi 4500 psi Compressor from potentially harmful moisture with the Air Venturi Dry Air Intake Filter by Hill. The Dry Air Intake filter removes moisture from the air as it enters your compressor.  This significantly reduces the chance of moisture entering your tanks or PCP cylinders when you fill them.  Easily installs onto the Air Venturi 4500 psi compressor in just minutes.  Includes a stand, hose, and enough Hill Dry Pac media to fill the filter.

Tech Note: Do NOT set your Filter on top of the compressor while running. The vibration could cause the filter media to break and turn into dust which can clog the filter and damage your compressor.

One more thing: the Filter kit comes with a piece of very stiff hose that is about 2.5 feet long. The instructions say explicitly not to set the filter on the top of the compressor because the shaking will cause the filter media to break down early; however, the hose is too short to put the filter anywhere else and the hose is too stiff the allow the media to sit in a stable condition on the floor. I bought some additional, much longer and more flexible hose so I can put the filter on top of a bench.

Pros
I bought the Air Venturi Krypton compressor, which, I think, is the successor to the 4500. I live in a rather moist area with standard humidity in the 65% range. In the first few days of having the compressor, I was getting quite a bit of moisture when I vented during and after a compressor run. So, to remove any effects, I bought the Intake Filter. The filter has noticeably reduced the amount of water that is being ejected during purging. It was easy to install but there are a few things that I will discuss in the Cons.

Cons
The intake filter comes with an attachment to connect to the intake port on the compressor. It was very difficult to install the attachment - the threads kept cross threading - like the threads are not the same. The filter media comes in two packets, and each packet contains little white balls and in a separate packet with some yellow media that is supposed to turn blue when the filter becomes saturated. Disappointingly, the instructions do not indicate if both packets of media are to be used. After filling up the filter with media, I had quite a bit left over. On the top of the filter there are threads that seem to indicate a lid should be used when the filter is not in use. Disappointingly, a cap was not included. I was unable to find a cap that fits the threads. Seems like something that sucks moisture out of the air should include a cap to prolong the life of the media - is that a ploy to make a customer buy more expensive media?
