Each pellet performed well in both tested guns, so I really didn't learn anything other than JSB makes good pellets and neither of my guns is picky. In the end, though, I saw a slight preference in both, so I guess that's helpful. I'd say this is a good test selection at a reasonable price and a good place to start when trying to figure out what pellet is best. This and the similar RWS selection will probably give you a great comparison.
Pros
Good selection and enough of each to get a real feel for how they differ.
Cons
None really. This covers the basics.
What a great product line for sorting out possible pellets for your gun. JSB Diabolo pellets are excellent quality. This was helpful in finding what my guy likes to shoot. Accuracy was good all around.
Gave me a good idea on what pellets my rifle likes
This item is one of those that can be helpful on finding the right ammo for your gun.I like the variety on shapes and size and a decent price for the amount. The practicality of the storage is good in the way that is all enclosed in one container. Gives the shooter in my opinion,a very good selection on ammo.
Pros
Good selection from a great manufacturer in different sizes, weights and shapes. The price is good also.
Cons
Difficult to know which size and specific pellet is being used since the section on the opening to access the pellets is not marked (as far as I can tell)
Every air gun may have different preferences when it comes down to pellets. This assortment or world-class JSB Diabolo provides you with sizeable quantities of four different .177 pellets to try out. At a reasonable price, you will be able to hone in your pellet selection w/o breaking the bank and - who knows? the ones that are not great for your gun today may be the ones your next gun (and you) will love.
Pros
Great quality. Good assortment.
Cons
None so far.
I tested these 4 different pellets in two 177 air rifles.one a benjamin md.397 and a stoeger x10. the jsb 10.34 gr. and the 8.4 gr. shot slightly over 1" at 40 yds.The jsb 7.3 gr.shot 13/16 in. and the 8.3 pointed pellet out shot them all.9/16in. at 40 yds. This was the benjamin 397.
I've only tested the stoeger x10 at 25 yds. and it prefers the 10.3 gr. and the pointed 8.3 gr.I get 1/2 in. groups with these two.The other two pellets in the sampler shoot a little over 1" at 25 yds.All shots were off bench rest.
This sampler pack is the way to go.For accurate plinking or target I'll use the 8.3 gr. pointed pellet and for hunting the 10.34 grain. in the stoeger x10. In the benjamin 397I'll hunt with the jsb dome pellets in 7.3 gr. and 8.4 gr.For top accuracy in the benjamin i need the pointed 8.3 gr.
You may not get the same results out of your benjamin 397 as i did.Mine chronyed close to 800fps with crossman 7.9 gr. pellets.
Almost forgot. Both rifles were tested with leapers 3x9 ao scopes and neither rifle liked the crossman 7.9 grain.
Pros
Try a sampler pack
Cons
Hang on to your old screw on lids to put your jsb pellets in.
This is a great way to test JSB pellets without spending a lot. You never know what pellets your gun prefers until you try different ones.
Pros
Great sampler pack. Good quality pellets.
Cons
None
I used these pellets to test the accuracy of my Gamo Swarm .177 . The Exact RS gave the best group of the ones supplied.
