My brother originally purchased this gun to take care of a pigeon problem a few years back. Certainly got the job done. Great starter rifle. As people have mentioned already, the scope isn't the best, personally I prefer to fire without anyways.

This rifle has got to be THE BEST DEAL AVAILABLE ANYWHERE! When I got mine I disassembled it, shimmed up the mainspring with 2 grade 8 3/8 flat washers to add additional preload to the spring for maximum performance. I did the home tune, lubed up the piston with moly paste and did the "Crosman trigger fix" with the washer. Google Crosman trigger fix, there is a youtube video that shows you how to do it. All these parts are available at any auto parts store for under $5.00, and they really wake this gun up. After testing several brands and weights of pellets, I've found this gun's "favorite" pellet is the Daisy 14.3 grain wadcutters. They are very accurate and hit very hard. These are made of softer lead than most other brands which makes them mushroom out on impact just like a hollow point. One more thing, forget the cheap bundled scope and just go with the iron sights, they are excellent. If you want a scope, buy a better one.

Pros
Easily modified and tuned Accurate with the iron sights Powerful Same mechanism as most other Crosman guns Fury, Optimus, Phantom etc.

Cons
Stock has a poor finish. (I refinished mine with Minwax stain from Wal-Mart) Now looks beautiful

It's like all the other standard coil spring Crosman guns, and they all work good for what you pay for. You can buy a .177 barrel for about $16 from Crosman and have a dual caliber for less than a typical new gun. The generic 4x scopes work fine for me, but you usually have to adjust the parallax. I always recommend a home tune to smooth it up, reduce cocking effort, increase power and accuracy, and reduce noise considerably. As with all Crosman break barrels, it's nice to tune/mod the trigger. Lots of people complain about it but they're easily fixed and work great after. I gave 4 stars because I have to tune them before I use them.

Pros
Great deal

Cons
Needs some tuning to make ideal
