After testing it with JSB's and two 50 shot groups the extreme spread improvement was only different by 6. It decreased my average speed by almost 50 FPS It also used far more air with the regulator and overall grouping of my AT 44-10QE so it just wasn't better in my opinion. It's already a great shooting gun. Whats bad about it is the regulator comes with no directions on how to adjust it so that made me reluctant to do anything to it. The installation was simple if you follow the video by Airgun Depot online and that was great, but not so easy to get it back out if you want to remove it or want to adjust it. Fine tuning it would be a definite task. Over all it just didn't seem worth it to me to lose several shots for minimal improvement.

Pros
Easy to install

Cons
No directions at all, Hard to remove.

The installation is fairly straightforward for this regulator (see attached instructions), but there are a few pretty big things to keep in mind (that aren't mentioned in the instructions) or else this will be a huge disappointment... First: the AT-44 cylinder has a valve return spring that pretty much relies on having 170 - 200 bar. This means that if you just pop this regulator in (set to 125 bar), you're going to waste a LOT of air due to the valve staying open WAY too long... Like going from 25 - 30 shots per fill down to 10. So what you need to do is find a heavy spring to replace the factory spring with... I got a pack of heavy springs from Midway USA a while back and just cut one down to the right size. Now I'm getting 25 - 27 shots per fill again. Second: this regulator is slightly oversized so you will most likely need to either widen the back of the valve assembly a bit or sand the regulator plug down. This means you pretty much have to void a warranty (and possibly a return policy) either way. Third: this regulator appears to be non-vented. I'm not sure if this is the cause of a relatively high Extreme Spread (ES) or if this is just a rough first try by Hatsan or if I got a lemon (see my second point about voiding your warranty and return policy). I get a 26 FPS ES compared to 5 - 10 with other brands of regulators. This product works moderately well once you get it tuned in just right, but it's a big headache to get working and not much cheaper than alternatives.

Pros
Much more consistent than unregulated valve (once tuned) Cheaper than other regulators

Cons
Difficult to tune Needs heavier valve return spring (not included) Higher ES than other regulators Installation by uncertified personnel will void your warranty

Will this regulator fit my Bull Boss?

asked Kyle from USA

Hi, can you adjust the pressure? for example, set it to 110 bar .... sorry I'm Argentine and I do not speak English .... thanks

asked jose

Will this regulator works on the bull boss cylinder i have all ready got one

asked Gianfranco from USA

You said the AT 44 valve spring relies on 170-200 bar and if the reg is set to 125 it will waste air. Instead of putting in a heavier spring why not just weaken the hammer spring so it does not hit the valve as hard? that should do the same thing no?

asked BJ

How do you adjust the regulator
