bought this for my husband new and he shot it for a week and within that time frame the recoil as little as it has beat the scope to pieces in the inside

I got mine a week ago and I love it. It's very powerful and accurate. After a couple of screws were tightened and torqued down, it drew the groups up to about a quarter size at twenty-five yards. I really like Crosman Premiers and also the cheap daisy pointed. I got a couple of big blue jays and some squirrels with it over the weekend and the scope broke. I switched it with a soimons blazer 3-9x50 that I had on my muzzle loader and it only took nine shots to get right. I took it out and tried pba's today and went right through a 3/4 in thick piece of plywood. I can't wait to go hunting tomorrow with it again. I might get the .25 cal next.

Pros
accurate powerful fast trigger

Cons
The scope shipped with it was nice but it was trash. It is very heavy and feels like you're toting a cinder block around the woods.

where can I buy one new

asked Charles from USA

Not a question but an answer to a common problem with this scope: The gun is known to break the scope, and the weak link is the part that holds the LEDs for the reticle. If you have a problem, like a partially blocked view and/or marks on the lens that look like scratches but otherwise the scope seems fine, then read: First unscrew the focus all the way out, then turn it in 1/4 turn. In the gap created by unscrewing the focus you should see a little lock-ring with a small notch to unscrew it. Unscrew that, then you can unscrew and remove the focus lens assy. The part that holds the LEDs is a short black plastic tube maybe 1" x 1", it's obvious, can't miss it. It isn't attached well so carefully epoxy or silicone seal it back into place. You can also remove it but you will no longer have an illuminated reticle. Don't touch the reticle wires, they're extremely delicate! You may have marks on the inside of the lens from the loose part touching it, so carefully clean that off as best you can and reassemble. Many scopes, not just this one, can have other problems; like the lens pops off the ring holding it, or the ring holding the reticle starts to rotate, both can often be solved in a similar manner. Sometimes the windage/elevation return spring breaks, this is a tough one to fix but possible with a home-made spring or alternate method, use your imagination. You can usually see the spring (or it's absence) by looking into the objective lens (front) with a flashlight. If your scope is broke and out of warranty there's no harm in trying to fix it first. Hope this helps, and good luck...

asked ROBERT from USA

What does the refurbished mean? Really like this gun but not sure about buying a refurbished rifle.

asked Logan from USA

I always go for the referb when available, and they always look and function like new. Your odds are probably better because if it had a flaw it had has been fixed. They're not somebody's old gun they traded in, they're a new gun that the owner found a flaw or realized he didn't want it. Sometimes people return because they don't like the cocking effort, or it's too loud, too heavy, maybe they don't know how to shoot it correctly and can't hit anything. Could just be a damaged box so you get a plain brown box instead, or damaged in shipping which would've been fixed. Read reviews on other referbs and most everyone says the same thing, very happy. The only real difference besides the price is the warranty, so shoot it a lot before the 30 days to be sure it's ok and you should be good to go.

Scott from USA

Can you or is it advisable to add a gas piston like a nitro piston to this rifle?

asked Stuart from USA

Yes you can put a nitro spring in it. Either pay the big bucks to have someone do it, usually $100+, or buy the spring direct from Crosman and do it yourself. You might need an extra part or two, but not sure so check with Crosman. I can't say if it'll give you more power or be harder to cock because I haven't tried one yet. Not sure if I will because my coil gun is just fine as-is. I'd recommend that you try tar on your spring, and maybe a slight tune while you're in there. You'd be surprised at the difference it makes. If you shot my gun you'd assume it was nitro because it's so smooth and no spring twang. By the way, my other guns that have a nitro are harder to cock but very little extra power, something to consider since it's already hard to cock. You can't believe the advertised cocking effort so maybe someone who has both can chime in.

ROBERT from USA

Can this kill a bobcat?

asked joe

It probably can, but it won't on the first shot. Use something like a .223 or something bigger as after the first shot with this, the bobcat will be chewing on you before you can load the next pellet.
