AVOID this -- It's PURE JUNK -- ZERO stars
TRIGGER - TOO STIFF and Travel is TOO LONG - Non-Adjustable. Even with Controlled Breathing, Trigger Release PULLS gun OFF TARGET... EVERY TIME.

CO2 SEAL - It LEAKS. Have to Load a NEW Cartridge Every time you want to shoot.

ACCURACY - This Pistol has NONE. The SMOOTH BORE is TERRIBLE. Barrel is SO WIDE, when a BB is Inserted into End of Barrel, it FALLS OUT. Cannot hit the OPEN end of a Box.

ProsPrice was Cheap... Any MORE would have been ROBBERY.
ConsSee Above Comments... It is NOT worth the Postage to Return it.

Balanced, effective and cost efficient
Fairly accurate, easy on the air, and fun to shoot around. I bought it because it was so cheap, and it's a pretty good little pistol.
ProsLightweight (if you prefer it that way), compact, decently accurate, and doesn't use too much co2.
ConsThe screw for the co2 looks tacky, and sticks out underneath the gun.

Quite good for the price, but nothing more.
I've had it for about a year and shot approximately 3,000 BBs out of it, mostly good quality steel. It was working alright and fun to shoot for the first thousand or so - then it started developing loading/magazine issues. It now needs to be loaded carefully by releasing the spring only after the magazine is in the gun, otherwise it spits all BBs out. It's also prone to double-loading BBs, i.e. shooting two at once. I attribute all that to poor magazine material/design combined to soft metal of the block that holds the BB in place when the barrel moves forward (the barrel wears it a bit with every shot, especially if dry fired).

It shoots accurately and powerfully enough to be fun, but doesn't last long if you don't avoid dry firing.
ProsGood ergonomics. Feels right in my hand. Points fairly naturally. Decent, albeit non-adjustable sights. Good power, as advertised. Pretty accurate. Shoots about 200 BBs with good power on one CO2 Double action trigger pull is a realistic 6lb and feels OK
ConsThe magazine and loading mechanism wear off pretty quickly. Avoid dry firing to extend it's life, but don't expect it to last very long. Double action only. All plastic, so too light for a realistic feel.

XBG BB Pistol
I bought this gun at a store somewhere just to have a little fun. At first I thought this gun was going to be a price of junk after a few weeks, but to my surprise I have had it for over two years and have had no problems. Its not very heavy in fact i think its a bit light for me. The trigger pull is a bit long, but for just buying it to have some fun in my backyard plinking cans its great. DO NOT BE AFRAID to go ahead and buy this gun, its fairly cheap for the quality it has. Also found another use for this gun, whenever I go pigeon hunting I take it along in my holster just in case I need to finish them off with a round in the back of the head. No need to wast more more expensive pellets. I can normally get 4-5 useful mags per 12 gram co2 on a warm summer day. like the experts have said co2 is almost useless on a cool winter day. Found this gun to be very accurate at ten yards which also surprised me for being a $30 Walmart gun. Be sure to buy more mags to increase the fun level!
ProsVery light, accurate, $30, Fun
ConsAlmost too light, trigger pull is a bit long but pulls very smoothly

Happily surprised
I didn't buy this gun from here because I live in South Africa, but I love this sites reviews - thought I'd contribute by adding one of my own. With an ABS exterior, and low price, I had expected this gun to perform in a manner indicated by it's price range, but I have never been so wrong! This little thing is light, but tough where it counts. Shot after shot, my little XBG sounds more like a BFG. Consistent accuracy, whacking bb after bb at 1 inch grouping from bb competition distance. Co2 lasts for 100 shots with good power. don't waste your bullets shooting with a near empty gas cartridge though. This gun is perfect for plinking and mild target shooting. GET AN EXTRA MAG. Trigger feels very long before a few hundred shots wear it in, after that, you truly don't regret the double action functionality. Beware, this gun seems to store pressure for each shot just before firing at the last possible moment before discharging, so don't pull the trigger to the edge of shooting unless you're going to shoot! (needless to say, but worth noting). Double action makes one hand shooting a little inaccurate if you're a bit of a noob, but the two handed feel of this gun is perfectly ergonomic. Gas can stay in the gun for a while without shooting, just pot off a few every so often to get through the cartridge... Hmm what else? oh yeah, safety is in a really decent place and has a solid feel. Happy days.

cool little gun
This item arrived very quick and was packaged good. It's small and easy to use. I personally think that getting a refurbished one is better than a new one because all the bugs have been worked out. It shoots straight and fast. No co2 leakage. I would recommend this item to anyone. I've been able to chase several pesky critters out of the yard with it.
ProsNice design. Easy to use. Great fun. Shoots straight and fast.
ConsClip is hard to load.

Refurbished XGB
Light & plastic feeling, but l expected that.
A little small for my hand, but fits my wife's hand ok.
Molded parts look ok as well.

Fun to shoot; Fun for the price.
ProsLightning Deal + Refurbished = $16 !! The three l bought looked as new. :-) Airgundepot handles returns / refunds like real pros.
ConsSome refurbished CO2 pistols fail to work at all. Of the three l ordered, one was A-OK, one was the same but shoots low, and one just explodes gas out its' handle top / framework every time when piercing the cartridge. Pellgunoil used every new cartridge. I will salvage the magazine & throw the ($16) bad one away.

Compact, accurate, great value!
Although I have several CO2 pistols, this is only my second that is not all metal. My other is an Umarex M&P 40. By comparison the XBG is more compact, and has a stick magazine with much greater capacity (M&P has 8 shot rotary drop-in mag, and therefore also has pellet option). The XBG pistol I purchased refurbished from Airgun Depot last week. I really like this pistol, mostly because of the accuracy power, nice and easy to load metal stick BB magazine, and the white dot sight. The refurbished deal was icing on the cake. Thanks Airgun Depot, what a deal!
ProsSize, accuracy, polymer durability and cool look. Good power and lots of shots per CO2 cartridge, easy to load metal magazine. And it's an Unarmed, which make great value airguns.
ConsNot blowback, but what do you expect for this price.

I bought this lightweight carrier as a side defense against varmints and rodents in the woods. Has came in handy for local stray pests, if not to permanently solve the stray problem then a damn good noise maker to deter small game. The price is absurd...I mean, this much quality for such a small price? I am tapping less than inch groups at 35 feet easily. People, if you want a .177 sidearm for what purpose you have going on or coming up, even as an instructional on safety for the up and comers, well, this is definitely the one you want!
ProsFrom price to durability, and accuracy to comfort and simplicity.... outstanding weapon!
ConsWould be nice to have a holster included with mag pouch and extra mag for say.... ten more dollars each unit.

Perfect starter gun
I bought this and a H&K electric with blowback gun and I don't regret my purchase at all, this one is not too expensive and a great starter gun
It has a good feeling to handle and looks realistic. It is accurate and even thou this one does not come with blow back effect the good side is you don't waste CO2 too fast and the trigger isnt that hard to pull when you get use to it which is done pretty fast
ProsGood feeling and realistic Good accuracy Inexpensive Combat gun style
ConsProbably not as beautiful as a PPK or PP49 but near Would pay a little more for more metal construction and blowback effect to make it ultimately realistic

Guaranteed... you WONT REGRET buying this gun
This was my first air pistol and it is flawless, especially for the price. I can aim dead on with it now, its been two months. It doesn't consume co2 fast at all!!! im absolutely satisfied with this little pistol. Sure its plastic and people will want to complain about that, but considering the price, its amazing. It the best pistol you can buy under the 40$ rangem, and it even beats my recent Walther PPQ. 2 thumbs up, for the price, enjoy it !!!
ProsPower, 19 shots, Accurate, Sturdy, and absolutely fun!!
ConsFor the price, absolutely nothing what so ever

Very good for a cheap BB gun
For this price, it's an excellent buy. It's plastic, but doesn't feel very cheap. Has a good weight (not too heavy, not too light). The accuracy is acceptable.
ProsVery cheap Lot of shooting with one Co2 cartridge 19 BB's magazine
Consheavy trigger pull not adjustable sights

Good for the price but trigger is very uncomfortable
If not for the very uncomfortable trigger, I would give it 4 stars.
ProsCheap Accurate enough for 25 feet ranges Compact Looks OK Good grip
ConsTrigger is very hard, long, and not adjustable. The trigger located too far from the handle for me so hard to achieve nice triggering action. Comes with just 1 magazine and its hard to find and buy additional ones. Sometime the last BB gets stuck inside the gun so be careful and make sure the chamber is clean.

Umarex XBG
Gun reminds me of the Crossman C11 only slightly less powerful and more of a box shape instead of rounded off. The trigger pull is long and hard. Weight of the gun is balanced and light. Mostly plastic except for the barrel and inside of the grip where the CO2 is housed. Metal clip is the same that is used for the Crossman C11 as well. Bottom of the gun exposes twisting mechanism where you twist to pierce the CO2 (Leaves sharp corners exposed so its something to keep in mind). Great gun to get if your not trying to spend too much.

Accurate right out of the box.
Excellent little pistol. Accurate right out of the box. First BB nailed a noxious exotic norther curly tailed lizard at 20'. Long CO2 life. Magazine doesn't let BBs jump out as others have.
ProsAccurate. Good sights. Simple.

Is the gun metal and what size and kind of ammo should I get for it? Also, how's the accuracy? Does the slide move when shot. Last question is, is it better than the colt defender?
By Jordan from Alabama on July 17, 2012

The gun is not metal except for the barrel and CO2 cartridge holder. The best ammo is a steel BB like Daisy provides. Great accuracy with a steady hand. Slide doesn't move. I have never used a Colt Defender but my guess is no.
