nice gun, nice blowback, shot accurately, bought mine from amazon a while back but it broke, trigger kept getting stuck for some reason, but overall a great gun when it was working properly

Overall, I really like the pistol. It has flaws like they all do as mentioned above but it's still very worth the money. If they improve the areas noted, it would get five stars plus.

Pros
Good power, decent accuracy flawless function in well over 1,000 rounds.

Cons
Make grip handle more grippy. Make piercing screw with better finger "purchase" in mind. Make mags steel. Make power level just a bit higher, 450/475 fps would be sweet. It's nice to shoot plywood without having bbs bounce back at you and that's where the power level would probably need to be to achieve that.

Pros
Looks, Quality, and trigger

Cons
I wish it was more accurate. Although others have said it is very accurate, I have e a different experience.

The recoil is realistic and the feel of the gun is too. Extremely compact.

Pros
Incredibly accurate and lightweight

Cons
Would be better without plastic mag and grips. They are flimsy

Just like you, I too had my eye on this gun hoping it'd be the perfect buy for my plinking needs. I watched youtube videos, read countless reviews, but you can trust me. This gun is magnificent! Very realistic weight, the nickel gives it a shiny and realistic look, very fun to shoot and the blowback adds so much realism to it. A blast! Especially for the price, I'd recommend this gun to anyone! Whether you're a new shooter, or have an experienced trigger finger

Pros
Fantastic weight, realistic look, good blowback, a blast to shoot (no pun intended)

Cons
Takes about a full minute to 2 min to reload the clip

I bought different kinds of airgun. This Daisy powerline 5501 is my favorite and its easy in loading BB's.

Great gun. Metal, solid, functional blowback. My only problem with it was it jammed permanently after about 50 mags. But I mean I put that thing through hell. Rapid fire, dropped it, I mean its great.

Pros
?Blowback ?Functional slide release ?Metal

Cons
Jammed after about 50 mags(that's a ton of rounds fired)

made in japan with the very high standard of manufacture its just a great hand gun best on the market for the price range

Pros
quality

Cons
mag could be metal but it seems to function well as plastic

For the money you wont find a better bb gun. Its got realistic blowback action, a locking slide apon empty mag. Its probably the most accurate gun for the price. And I tend to get between 130 and 150 bb's per co2. Depending on the ambient temp.

Pros
Great accuracy and function. Have put over a thoisand bb's through mine and never had a malfunction.

Cons
None. For the price its the best possible experience.

I bought this gun and fell in love! Awesome look great trigger response overall very satisfied! But as of lately ive been experiencing a problem....mine consistently de-cocks itself after every shot....when i first got it i didnt have this problem i was capable of shot, shot, shot, shot but now its shot,de-cock then i have to pull the action as if getting a bb into the firing chamber then i shoot again and same thing....i hate it because i love thia gun sp much! Anyone have any ideas on what the issue could be? I use only daisy bbs and daisy co2

Is there a laser sight that would fit this pistol? If so, please feel free to suggest a few... and thanks.

asked Richard from USA

Is there a specific laser sight I could use with my 5501 pistol?

asked Richard from USA

Is it blowback?

asked Matthew from USA

Does this take steal BB's as well as pellets?

asked Tasena from USA

The Powerline 5501 is a BB only gun.

Mark from USA

Why is this a double Action only trigger if it's semi-auto,blowback ? Is the slide just for amusement ? A working blowback slide that just moves back and forward again but does not index the next shot or cock the mechanism is USELESS !

Does this have an orange tip?

asked Nick

No it doesn't. try an airsoft if your looking for a airgun with a orange cap. you could possibly paint it on.

Ron from USA

No Airguns don't have orange tips compared to airsoft guns.

Brian Yong

No

Tristan

No it doesnt because its not a toy

Zach

No, it doesn't because it shoots steel bbs, not plastic.

Zach

No, It has a false metal internal barrel covering the smaller BB barrel

Josef

No it does not. These are dangerous realistic weapons which could cause serious injury unlike airsoft guns which generally dont do more than just sting.

Sheepdog

No, it does not have a fire orange barrel tip.

Rich

No, as it is a BB shooter

Will

No

Deandre

What does blow-back mean?

asked David

Blowback means the slide moves back and forth when the weapon is fired.

My son is 14 years old and he really would like a BB pistol. Would anyone think this would be good for him? I don't want too spend too much, my budget is $100.

asked Michael

No it is a realistic looking gun I'd wait a couple years before you buy him one like this I would suggest a soft air pistol with a orange tip my neighbors child was shot for just waving one around like this one not recommended for children this young

Steven Densmore

No it is a realistic looking gun and you should wait until he is a couple years older before you by him a blowback bb pistol. My neighbor son at 15 was shot for waving a bb pistol around I would suggest something that doesn't look as realistic as this gun maybe a soft air pistol they have a orange tip

Steven Densmore

I would start with an air soft gun that has an orange tip and is spring. They are good starter guns and just as fun.

Josh

I recently purchased one. Although I haven't fired it much it works well. A new one should cost between $50-$65. Mine came from Wal-Mart for $58. It looks and feels like a real hand gun.

Pete Lacasse

Very powerful air pistol I have one

Frank

Absolutely. I am 14 and I definitely enjoy it. It's a great starter gun, easy to load, good on co2, and accurate

Andrew from USA

It's a really good gun my friend has one and he loves it so It would be a great first gun for him I think you would buy it for him.

Austin

Careful giving a young guy a pistol of any kind. Check out the news. Just offering a word of caution. I'm sure you are a good parent. My Dad gave me a BB rifle that I learned to shoot with. A pistol got me picked up by the police even though I was just plinking cans.

Anthony from USA

No I have this pistol. It is really fun but its for at least 16 yr old and up. The blowback action I believe is inappropriate for age level Get a nice pump action pellet or bb rifle.

andy

The Beretta M84FS would be a nice first bb gun. The STI Duty One .177 cal would also be a nice one. Both in the 80$ range.

Will

Where could I buy a replacement magazine for the 5501?

asked BRUCE

You could get them on Amazon but I recommend going to pyramidair.com for cheaters magazines.

Chris
