Good Not Great
The price was the major selling point for me. I shoot international pistol nine or ten times a year so I didn't want to spend a lot on an air pistol. The gun is very accurate.

The biggest negatives are the trigger and sights.

I am tall (6' 2"), but not abnormally tall, so the distance from my eye to the sights is probably a little longer than it is for most people. Out of the box, there was no light visible between the edges of the front and rear sights when the sights were correctly aligned. I filed the notch in the rear sight so that it was a little wider. This was not easy to do neatly because the rear sight is plastic.

The trigger pull is 2# and is not adjustable. This is a hard trigger pull for an air pistol.

I also have trouble getting the pellet in the barrel.

In a thirty round match, fatigue from cocking the pistol does become a factor and you do have to be careful not to get any part of your hand caught in the pistol when cocking it.

Maybe this is not the gun for me
The gun is accurate and once I got used to it, the grip was fine
ConsHard to load. It took way too long to try to get the pellet in the gun. On several occasions, upon pulling the trigger - nothing happened and I would have to repump. HOWEVER, when I released the barrel to reload, it would sometimes fire. Safety hazard if I were not trained to always keep guns pointed down range. I wish I could love this gun, but it just isn't happening yet. I am thinking that maybe I got the one gun that was bad in all that were made.

This has been a great air pistol
It hangs on the coat rack by the front door, it gets a lot of use, and has had many, many thousands of pellets through it. Even at my age I can still split a 177 in half on a knife blade at 20 feet with it ( 30 years ago I was a professional trick shot ). Mine can still put them in one hole at 10m from a rest, and is still shooting 400 fps

Good first target pistol
It has the accuracy. It has an adjustable trigger. The grips are large, but easily sanded down to fit your hand. The contour of the grips, and the palm shelf make getting a repeatable grip easy. My rear sight needed to be widened a bit.
I couldn't get myself to modify the OEM grips, so made new ones. This is an impressive pistol for the price. Still my Avanti 747 out shoots it and cocks and loads easier. However the grips on this pistol, and it's smaller size make it a winner too. This pistol has shot well with RWS 7gr match pellets and only a little less accurate with Gamo match wadcutters. Mine came with a case that also has room for a tin of pellets. I would rate it 5 stars if it were easier to cock and load.
ProsPrice Size Accuracy Grips
ConsHard to cock and load for a 10 Meyer pistol.

Good entry level 10meter pistol
Call it whatever, it's a Gamo and I have used them in postal matches. i am not a fan of mixed metal/resin platforms. I love a quiet pistol. This one isn't. But it is a good platform for target practice and the price is right.
ProsGrips can be filed to shape
ConsNot heavy enough

Don't waste your money
I probably scored this higher than it deserves. Maybe for a beginner it would be ok. If you are serious about target shooting buy a FAS 6004, you get what you pay for.
ProsGreat boat anchor. I bought it for my wife and I have a FAS. I am trying to return the Gamo and will purchase another FAS for her.
ConsVery heavy trigger. Tried to adjust it but the adjustment screw was stripped. Sights don't show you what direction you are making adjustments. Grip is very blocky. Very difficult to load. Line of sight is high compared to the FAS. Plastic construction, I tried several different pellets and it didn't make any difference on accuracy. I had several of the game pellets that came with the gun that would even shoot out of the gun. I had to push them out with a cleaning rod.

Gamo Compact Target Pistol .177
I bought this pistol about years ago. I used it for a year or two and then put it away. It was in its case in a closet. I forgot about it until a few months ago. I was looking for something and came across it sitting behind some stuff. I took it out of its case and setup a cardboard box down the hallway, about thirty feet. I used a quarter to draw a circle on the box for a target. From a rest, I put 5 shots(Beeman hollow point pellets) into that circle.
Totally Amazing!

Bought this pistol so I could practice in my backyard. Set up bench with sand bags to sight in at 10 yards. Out of the box, 5 shots, one ragged hole. Repeated several times. Unbelievable!

Target Pistol
Once you sight it in. Right on! Love the grip, sanded it down a bit to suit my hand. adj. trigger is a big +. Not a fast loader , shoots most .177 ammo- not all. Quiet and looks mean....

Pretty good
Couple of things to mention.

They should list that a can of 250 pellets and a plastic case is included. I purchased a case for no reason.

The documents on GAMO site mentioned a safety this model pistol has no saftey.

If you have large hands, need a lot of adjustment on palm shelf ( shaving ) for a comfortable grip.

Otherwise dead on after break in.

The customer service from Air Gun Depot is five star.

It is possible to use GAMO PBA non lead ammo? What speed increase is possible, if any?

By Staff on January 9, 2012

The Gamo PBA Raptor pellets are rated to Increase Velocity 25% (On guns whose speed is rated with normal lead pellets)
By Carter from Washington on February 15, 2012

Yes you can use the PBA, and it should increase the fps by at least 50.
