Recieved this gun yesterday and already fell in love with it. The gun shoots phenomenal. With some cheap Crosman Premiere Hollow Point pellets, I'm shooting quarter sized groups at 20 yards with iron sights. When I received this gun, the scope Crosshairs were broke, but hoping to hear back from Hatsan on the warranty.

Pros
-Shoots amazing (knock on wood) -Balanced -Easy to cock for the amount of energy this thing produces -Comfortable to shoot -Great iron sights -Smooth trigger

Cons
- Scope seems nice, but was broken out of the box - A tad on the heavy side. - Not as quiet as you'd expect

I've had my striker 1000s for 2 years and I LOVE it. I see all these reviews saying it has terrible accuracy or a crappy scope but I know better. It did take about 400 shots to break it in and it was slightly erratic before that, but after break in it has become superb. I go to the dump and shoot rats regularly...at 100 meters or so. I rarely miss and when I do it's due to the rat moving as I pull the trigger. If you want a reliable, accurate, and very affordable single shot air rifle, the Hatsan Striker is the one for you.

Pros
Price, accuracy, power, comfort, reliability

Cons
You need some upper body strength to cock and load the rifle. Not really a bad thing as you don't have to worry about the kid getting hold of it

I have three Hatsan rifles. This is very accurate at 15 yards. That H&N Baracuda shot a very tight pattern. It has a strong recoil. It seems my trigger is more than the rated trigger. I haven't addressed it yet but it seems like it's closer to 6 lb. Of all my air rifles this carries the most energy at the muzzle.

Pros
Accurate, it's light, and it's inexpensive.

Cons
The trigger on my rifle it is a hard trailer to pull. The recoil is very strong.

received the gun and shot it soon after without attaching the scope, the fiber optic sights were dead on at 30 yards but don't like the trigger, after turning the screw clockwise to shorten the trigger pull length the trigger became too hard to pull and so went back to the longer pull and easier trigger, being used to having a moderate hair trigger will take some time to getting used to,now the bigger problem, after shooting the gun around 30 or 40 times while cocking the gun, which i do by sitting the butt of the gun on the ground between my feet and pushing forward, the screw on the left side of the receiver pulled thru the polymer material, managed to screw it mostly back in but it still won't tighten down like the right side so cosmetically it affects the looks of the gun but did not affect the cocking mechanism, knowing what i know now i would have bought the 1000x with the wood stock so other than that i like the gun,not to loud shoots hard.i would not buy another airgun with the plastic or whatever material, would stick with wood and probably go the the air piston instead of the spring piston

Very happy with this purchase. It's a nice light gun to shoot.

Pros
Good power and accuracy.

Cons
Synthetic stock has absorbed gun oil in places so has lost its asthetic appeal.

Its very powerful, can easily take a squirll out of trees from far away. Its a bit hard to cock and a little loud but because of all the power it has I dont even mind it because its worth it. Scope is also not so great.(needs better mount because my scope is always off).

Pros
Powerful Sturdy Stable Not too heavy GREAT PERFORMANCE FOR THE PRICE

Cons
Kind of loud Hard to cock Should get better scope

I really enjoy this Hatsan. It has a ton of power. Nice looking rifle. Not a fan of the hollow stock. Makes kind of a ping sound. The scope isnot great, but ok.

Pros
Power. Sleek. Accurate at approx 25 yards.

Cons
Scope. Hollow stock.

Have shot it a few times . Does not seem to scare pets like a normal 22 rifle sound. Trying to sight in scope that it came with. Not sure about it yet. Power seems OK. I got the .25 cal. It sinks pellet into a hard maple stump I cut for back stop of targets. Have not seen ground hog ,now that I have a gun that I can shoot in city limits. (No discharge of Firearms) Neighbors call the cops. When you shoot ground hog eating the garden.

Pros
Does not seem to scare pets. Like normal rifle shot sound .22 firearm VS .25 air

Cons
Need to have a sling. Or optional mount .

Nice .177 rifle with a nice feel. Very accurate, even without the scope. This is a powerful air gun that has great penetrating force. Varmits beware!

Pros
Great value for a very well made air gun.

Cons
A little loud and powerful for the neighborhood(not really a bad thing). Harder to cock than other air rifles I've used.

good noon sir, asking how range long the scope to catch the point target?thanks

asked ruben a. fronda

I would say probably around 25-35 yards. I never used the scope I saw that it's crap and removed it and I only shoot it with the sights and the scope was thrown out completely.

Andy from USA

To be perfectly honest I removed the scope. For the effective shooting distances of a pellet gun the iron sights are just fine. When I purchased this fun I had read many reviews essentially discounting the quality of the scope; I was not expecting much and it isn't. . Heck, what does one respect for this price point?!

Alan from USA

It's good for about 30-40 yards

Cutting down the butt stock- Does anyone know if the butt stock is solid or hollow? (I always need to cut off about 1 1/2 inches to match my short-arm trigger pull.) Thanks, Joe

asked Joe

Cutting down the stock on a synthetic stock wont work because you will cut off the threads for the recoil pad

Scott from USA

Can you kill squrriles with it

asked Zac

yes

omar from USA

Yes, it will definitely take out a squirrel. However, I believe that you will need to get a hunting license if you are going out to the back woods to take some out, if you get caught without one, there will be a fine. If you live outside city limits, and squirrels are eating your cat food, dog food, bird food, etc. they are legal to shoot without a license. This is the same for any nuisance animals, including most birds. If it's a crow or magpie, it's fine, but do not shoot Ravens, as they are a protected species. Check http://wildlife.utah.gov/rules-regulations/46-rules/rules-regulations/953-r657-19--taking-nongame-mammals.html for more information.

Layton from USA

It has the capability of killing squirrels, yes. You will experience 12-15+FPE at the muzzles with various lead pellets. Its limitation as a low end, although great rifle for the money, will be distanc and accuracy. If you can do your part, you should experience consistent shot placement and takedowns within 25yd, though some might be able to extend that in knowing your rifle, pellets, optics, and shot placement.

Christopher from USA

absolutely, this is the rifle I use just for that purpose... I like round nose pellets, it works great.

Jim from USA

Can you kill squrrils with it its not listed

asked Zac Dolan

Yes

Patrick

You could easily kill a squirrel if you shot it in the head. 1000 FPS is plenty for small animals. You might not be able to use hollow points with it as well as you can some other guns. In my experience the barrel is a little "snug". What ammo you get will effect how close your spread is. That's with any gun, but the hollow points I purchased, as well as the heavy pellets (15.8g), needed a fair amount of force to get into the barrel. On the other hand I've used two different semi wadcutter pellets and they fit excellent and shoot extremely accurate. It could be a tight fit because of the riffling.

from 1 to 10 how loud is the gun?

asked Eugene from USA

It sounds like any other 1000 fps shooting gun. The first couple shots will be loud, but once the gun is broken it it won't be bad at all.

Kenrick from USA

its listed loud

Zac Dolan

What pellets are recommended for this gun?I have the gamo bull whisper extreme is the hatsan striker 1000s a better gun.

asked Kendric Haley

I have not used the gamo but the Hatsan seems to be a great Air Rifle. It is quiet and seems to have less recoil than my Ruger Airhawk (.177) I am using at the moment Benjamin (crosman Premier) hollow points. Due to weather, I have only been able to shoot in my shop. about 20' to target. With open sites i can put 5 pellets in the same hole The rifle is light and fun to shoot.

Jason from USA

Regarding pellets, it is a matter of use. I'm a fan of RWS wadcutters for close range, and I am now a fan of their new hornets, expensive, but lethal. I have 2 of the Gamos in .177. In my opinion the Hatsans outperform the Gamos in every respect. I have 3 of the Hatsan 1000s models - 1 in each of the 3 calibers - .177, .22, and .25. They all 3 exceede the advertised specifications. Hatsan quality and performance leaves the Gamos in the dust. Feel, weight, loudness, sights, safety, trigger, are all what I wanted in an air rifle. The scope is adequate, but can easily be upgraded.

Paul from USA

anything .22 is good. I'm not sure if it better than the gamo bull wisper though.

Garrett from

It is an awsome gun!!! The Hatsan striker1000s is a good hunting gun With a lot of knock down power. The pellets I would recommend are the Hollow point or domed pellets. I have hunted rabbits and crows with this gun. You might want a better scope and it is dead on. The bipod is for showing off the rifle or displaying It. Over all a great gun and a hunting rifle.

Will from USA

I've only used Crosman Domed Premier Pellets, 0.22-Calibre and they shoot well in this gun. Shooting from 30 feet, these will go through a 1" pine board like it's butter. This is a nice quality gun. I bought one for my son, also, and we are pretty happy with the quality and firepower. Nice gun.

James from USA

I have used The Beeman dome pellets, RWS Super-point and the RWS Super-H point with this rifle. The Beeman pellets turned out to work well for target practice with close targets but once I started shooting from about 50ft out, the accuracy started to drop off. The Super-point pellets worked very well and the groupings with these were much tighter for me than the Beemans in addition to being more accurate at longer distances. My favorite so far would have to be the Super Hollow points as they performed the best while shooting from a distance as well being perfect for hunting. I harvested a squirrel using the Hollow points from about 40ft away, first shot. As for whether or not the Striker is better than the Gamo, I would suggest you try it out and see for yourself. The Hatsan Striker 1000s is made by a company in Turkey known for their high quality firearms and air rifles. It shoots very straight and hits really hard! If you are thinking of upgrading, go for it, you won't be disappointed!

Is the stock hollow or solid?

asked Adam

Hollow, which allows for me to add weight if needed to balance the rifle.

andre from USA

The Stock is Both lol it does have some hollow but it does not feel or sound like it.the walls are thick and there just isn't any bad feel to it. it's solid and strong. I bought one for all my son's they have several gun's Hunt daily deer and all game. My son's age from 34-22 they love them keeps them sharp with a real feel and weight and affordable plink in..

Ed from USA

The stock is solid. Is a airguns accurate and potente developed with 16 grains 750 fps. Ideal for pest control and target shooting. It is a very good buy. There will regret.

Germán Andrés from Argentina

I think it's hollow, but feels pretty solid. Not plastic.

Garrett from

Is the scope and mount on this gun any good?

asked Cesar from USA

The scope is fine for the accuracy of this gun, but I would buy new rings for the scope. The recoil tends to make the screws come loose. Blue loctite thread locker seems to help keep the screws tight though.

Mason from USA

The scope and mount on this rifle is fine. I'm certain there are better ones out there, but I bought all three of the calibers for this model. At this price, I figured I couldn't go wrong, and I am pleased to report that I made a good decision. I will not replace the scope on any of them, and they are a welcome addition to my growing arsenal of air guns.

Paul from USA

seems good to me. I'm sure There are better ones out there, but for shorter range shots and targets this seems fine. the scope doesn't zoom that much, but is pretty clear.

Scott from USA

How loud is it

asked Louie

On a scale from 1 to 5, 5 being the loudest it's about a 3. Not so great for urban use

Mason from USA

I have all three of the Hatsan 1000S Models - .177, .22, and .25. My aged ears (without the hearing aids installed) tell me that they are all three equally as loud. I've never run a sound meter around them, and I wear hearing protection so to me the sound that I hear is very muffled. I do all of my shooting (targets and 50% of the time via a chrony to evaluate several pellet types and weights) at my home in an urban area. I have set up a small shooting area in a breezeway between the house and garage. No neighbors have ever complained, and I shoot at all times of the afternoon and early evening.

Paul from USA

Will this kill rabbits?

Jake, Yes, this rifle does have enough power to take down a rabbit. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Sincerely, The Airgun Depot Customer Care Team

John, The Hatsan Striker 1000S fires .22 caliber pellets. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Sincerely, The Airgun Depot Customer Care Team

What kind of warranty does my rifle come with?

Ray, This air rifle is guaranteed by the manufacturer for 1 year by a 1 year limited warranty. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Sincerely, The Airgun Depot Customer Care Team

Scott from USA

Is it good for a 12 year old?

asked Sam

No, in terms of your age i would recommend a youth gun such as a Daisy Red Ryder or a Daisy Grizzly.

kyle

How is the trigger on this gun? I have the Beeman RS1 and its trigger is so hard to pull I cant have fun and I want to make sure that I get a gun with a soft trigger?

asked Javes

Hi there, which is a superior gun. The Hatsan Striker .177 or the Hatsan Model 70 1.77? I would like to know because they are selling for the same price and want to make sure I get the better rifle.

asked Tyson

What kind of groups can I expect from this gun at 25 yards?

asked Asher Evraets

I get 1/4 inch groups if I use a bench rest or the bipod. This rifle likes heavier pellets, my experience is stick with lead pellets for accuracy. I like RWS. The alloy pellets are not near as accurate in any rifle. This is a great rifle, it was replaced under a recall and the second one shot as good as the first. Very light barrel oiling followed by a dry swab will get you the best groups. Enjoy!

Gregg

When will this item be in stock?

asked Asher Evraets

Estimated in stock date is 2013-03-03

Scott from USA

Will this gun kill woodchucks and raccoon? We have bad problems with them.

asked steven from USA

Woodchucks yes. With raccoons, only if you were to hit it in the head. I would say no on raccoons.

hunter

How is the accuracy and sound of the rifle? What are some pros and cons?

asked trey

Pros- cheap, decent power Cons: horrible construction as with most low end hatsan guns, hard to cock, can't count on quality control to catch anything so it's a toss up. My hatsan had screwed up sights, wobbly trigger guard and the scope exploded.

Jake from USA

I just wanted to know if this model shoots accurately and also how quiet is it? Does it have a pretty loud pop or is it more like a whisper when it shoots? Thanks.

asked Jim

You would this a good first rifle? I'm 13, but really tall (about 5 foot 9), and used to using .22 rimfire rifles.

asked Thomas

What is the actual velocity with formal lead pellet?

asked azfar

Around 900 fps.

Conor from USA

What bipod does it come with? What is is like and is it quality?

asked Avery

The gun is very good quality. If you are asking about the bipod, it is as cheap as it gets. It works like a pair of wooden clothes pins and has similar clamping force. f you want a usable, nice bipod get one that clamps onto the gun with a set screw or C-clamp.

Kenrick from USA

It is cheap plastic so nothing to brag about, but is helpful occasionally.

Garrett knorr

It comes with a Bipod that Hatsan makes. It can be folded when not in use. Hatsan guns do not feel flimsy or cheaply made. They are very sturdy guns that can take a beating.

Scott from USA

Is it too heavy? Is it too loud? Is it powerful enough?

asked Greg

it is only about 6 and a half pounds,it is fairly loud with a bit of a kick, and it is pretty powerful (1000 feet per second). It is also good for hunting rabbits and squirrels

---------------------

I've been looking for an air rifle that fits my needs for a while and I have almost came to a decision. I have found the Remington Vantage and I also found this Hatsan 1000s Striker .177cal with a bipod and scope for the same price. They both seem good for pest control and plinking. For pest control, mostly bird and squirrels up to 30 yards, and common garden pests up to 20 yards. I will be buying Cosman Destroyer pellets for the gun I get. If you have used pellets that you believe are better, please include in your answer. So in the answer please include good things and concerns about each rifle. Then in your opinion state which gun you would pick.

asked Kyle

is this a pump or does it take co2

asked Brandon

Brandon, Our Hatsan Striker 1000S Synthetic .22 Caliber Air Rifle is a break barrel. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Sincerely, The Air Gun Depot Customer Care Team

Steve from USA

are you able to delever the itme in India.I am 30 year old

asked Bhoopendra singh

Thank you for you interest. For questions about international ordering/shipping please email us at [email protected] This so we can better help you. The need for licenses and permits are determined by you local city officials. You will need to check with your city to know if you will need any permits, though in most cases no permit is needed.

Steve from USA

Does Hatsan manufacture 0.25 caliber?

asked samuel zulu

YES IT DOES. ITS AVAILABLE IN MOST MODELS AND IS AVAILABLE IN THE STRIKER. CHECK THE HATSAN WEBSITE FOR COMPLETE INFO. GOOD HUNTING!

HARUE from USA

how loud is the gun? will it desturb neighbors? i live in a suberbon neighbor hood so there house is like 25 feet from mine. also, does it have kick back?

asked griffy

I would consult your neighbors first. This gun is kinda loud.

Scott from USA

How reliable is this gun?

asked Benjamin

This is a decent quality Brand. We haven't been carrying this gun for long, but there have been very few returns on these ones. They are pretty reliable.

Scott from USA

Can this gun take an oppsum, raccoon, rabbit, crow?

asked Kyle

this gun can kill any of the animals in question. Raccoon and opossum may have to be a bit closer than rabbits depending on their size though.

Scott from USA

how much is the killing range?

asked clinton antony

there are a lot of variables that come into whether or not your gun will kill an animal at a certain range. Pellet type and what you are trying to kill are the main variables. Since it is a .22 caliber, It will probably kill most small animals within 20-30 yards.

Scott from USA

How does the Htsan compare to the more expensive Gamo 22 caliber pellet rifles?

asked David

We are relatively new to using the hatsan products since we have only carried them a short while. They seem to be pretty great though but I cannot say at this point if they have the same durability as the gamo guns. They work great though.

Scott from USA

It is said in one of the reviews that the gun is heavy. It obviously must be a misprint in the description of the rile. It states a little over 6 lbs. How much does it really weigh? 6.4 lbs is definately not heavy IMO, for a rifle rated at 1000fps with lead pellets. And do you find that the clamp on bipod affects accuracy?

asked Gabe

Yes it weights around 6lbs....not heavy at all unless the person isn't very strong....

Conor

I don't have a scale, but it weighs more than my 22 rifles. I have not tried the bipod. The scope is cheap, and you need to adjust the rear sight to a high setting to site the gun in. I spent some time with the gun shooting at a target at 15 yards and with the rear sight at the lowest setting the shots were very low. With the scope mounted and the rear sight adjusted up you really can not use the iron sights and also the scope, unless you could lower the front sight.

William Wilkinson

why would this not be good for kids

asked doug

The gun can be hard to cock for kids especially if they aren't very strong...

Conor

Like I said the weight bias is forward and small kids lack arm strength.

Bill

What is the trigger pull like? Does it break clean with out creep? Is the trigger adjustable?

asked Scott Saunders

No creep as from the factory, the trigger is adjustable. This model does not have the new quattro trigger which has more adjustments

Bill

Is the single-stage trigger in this model identical to their old problematic single-stage or has it been truly improved both in function and adjustability. I've been tuning Talons and Falcons for 5 years and they have come a long way. Is it possible to adjust the trigger to it's lightest safe setting and measure the trigger pull? The Striker models have the lowest weight and the highest power to weight ratio of all the models.....close to my BSA Lightning XL but with much more power. That's a 5yo pic of a Hatsan made Walther Talon and a Hatsan Webley Patriot.

asked Ray

Don't know if it is the same as the old triggers, but this one is adjustable. There is even a hole in the trigger guard to adjust the pull (neat).

Bill
