Replica airguns are a specialty of Umarex- and the Legends M712 just might be the paragon of all firearm lookalikes. There were several variations of this pistol (commonly called the "Broomhandle Mauser" because the grip looks like a broom handle)- and this is a copy of the Schnellfeuer (German for fast or rapid fire) version of the pistol- which was produced from 1932 to 1936. Pick up this amazing firearm lookalike- and you'll be hard-pressed to admit it's a BB gun! The heft- the feel- the metal- the action -- it's everything wanted a BB gun to be. Nothing stopping you from buying it. Not even the price. A real bargain!

Legends M712 Pistol Features
  • Uses a 12-gram CO2 cartridge
  • Full-/semi-auto
  • Blowback*
  • 18rd removable BB magazine
  • Manual safety
  • Fixed front sight
  • Elevation-adjustable rear sight
  • Plastic grips
  • Single-action
  • Full metal

*The blowback on the M712 CO2 pistol functions the same as it does on the firearm. There's no slide. The only thing that moves is the bolt. The purpose of the bolt's movement is to cock the hammer (because this is a single-action pistol).

I agree with everyone saying this pistol is wild, love it, I collect WW! and @ weapon, like he said, I found wooden hostel for BroomHandle, only problem is it made for real one but the gas one won't goes all the way in, the button selected switch from semi to full stop it going in, I going have to file inside but did find a leather hostel for it, also I love is the wooden have slide to pistol as a stock. I use it as home defend, if someone break in my house, I shoot full auto in their legs, they think they walk into a hornet's nest. Don't want use real gun, hate to clean up blood and skin parts.

Pros
rate of fire, it impressed everyone I show it to. They say they must get one.

Cons
nothing much, only load the magazine

I collected WW1/WW2 weaps, for decades. I never found a "Broomhandle" that I felt was in the condition that made the price tag viable. This was like finding one of my "Holy Grails", as it feels exactly like the real thing! I had a blast with this lil thing. I am now hooked on the "Legend Series", and will probably buy them all. I highly recommend this lil dumplin', but, be ready to buy A LOT of cartridges, If you don't buy them by the big box, don't bother. I use about a cartridge, per magazine, even tho the mag will actually hold 21 BB's. I predict that the cartridge manufacturer's will LOVE ME! I blew thru 3, within 20 minutes of receiving mine. VERY fun lil pistol!

Pros
Beautiful! Just like the original. I am hunting for a shoulder stock/holster, as was issued with the original.

Cons
I would love to see the at a lower cost, BUT!, I realize that it is a well-machined, integral part of this things action. It is what it is.

Had a chance years ago to buy the real thing but passed on it, after receiving this I wish I would have bought the real C96 for my collection.

Pros
Looks like the real deal.

Cons
None.

Pros
Definitely has the look of a C96, for those of us who can't buy the real thing.

Cons
But, $50 for a single spare magazine ????? That is almost half the price of a new gun.

get extra mags, 1 Co2 per mag and after bbs are gone the gun empties out the Co2 so reload bbs and reload Co2. check your item upon receipt to make sure it works ect before warranty runs out and then you can go ahead and put it away or display it.

Pros
awesome replica! i recommend. shots great, works well.

Cons
jamms do happen just correct it and keep going, its only a bb gun and with automatic dont be surprised.

Pros
Looks cool

Cons
Bought two of these and gave one to a friend. Very hard to load and worked about 10 percent of the time. Mine leaked air until it was empty. My friend gave up the first five cylinders of air. Looks cool but extremely unreliable.

I bought this air pistol back in 2016. Of course I first encountered the loose barrel problem that I struggled to solve. nothing stopped it forever. The latest thing I've tried is permatex orange and surface prep cuz its zinc. If I'm able to update I will. the magazine starting to leak (me around the 16th co2 cartridge). My solution was ordering co2 pin seals. But the problem of no easy replacement is a worry with the cost of magaizines. Of course my main reason for finally writing a review is the death of the pistol. I had fired 86 co2 cartridges through the gun. The breech spring plate broke, the full auto catch spring is weak, the trigger spring and assemble in the frame are worn and starting to catch instead of release for semi auto. But the worse is the chassis inside the frame has worn and weakened and no way for it hold the barrel accurately. So a gun that could shoot easily within 1.5-2" cant say in within 4" anymore. I've enjoyed it but it's full of headaches

Pros
Accuracy, feel and handling

Cons
Air gun and magazine construction. The gun will shoot itself to death and you will lose that easy 2" circle to become all over the place because of the way the barrel is secured. Also the pin seal in the magazine shall wear out without a available replacement. My own pistol "died" (became so inaccurate from the chassis frame that holds the barrel in place wearing from use) within 90 co2 cartridges.

have any updates on this gun fixed any of the early issues, like the barrel or magazines

Is this for Airsoft?

asked Clayton from USA

do you sell the wood stock for this

asked gene from USA

no

Val from USA

can you put a stock on this kinda like the one that was a holster/stock?

asked gene from USA

I've found that using Pelloil on the tip of each CO2 cartridge will almost end the leak issue. It keeps the seal lubricated and if you put a drop on the base of each CO2 cartridge it helps with the ease of the process.

asked Timothy from USA

Is this gun a full automatic from your distribution center? Or something like that uzi I purchase for my nephew, it doesn’t even sooot a single round, just lets all the air be expelled from the co2, Again and aging, I am not angry with y’all, I am very happy with everything else I have ordered. from arrgundepot , just wish I could be privey to wish one like the unimax still storm, that’s so much fun I a I ordered a second one,

asked William from USA

anyone chronographed it? should I buy the umarex of kwc? thank you

asked adrien from USA

Does it have a slot on the back of the grip for a shoulder stock to slide into it. I realize there isn€™t a BB gun version of the stock being sold but i know you can find reproductions. Just curious if I bought this if it would be worth getting a repo holster/stock

asked Sam

Can I put a stock on it?

asked Tucker

where are these guns stocked in [email protected].

asked RAY ROCHE

There seems to be multiple variations of this gun in .177. Is there any difference between the Umarex Legends M712 and the KWS M 712?

asked a from USA

I am considering this but there are a few complaints about a loose barrel or leaking CO2 seal. Have these issues been addressed? Is there a fix for it?

asked Hal

Pelloil. Follow instructions. Will help prevent leaking and keep seals lubricated.

Timothy from USA

i was thinking of buying the mini uzi with mock silencer not the full metal blowback version its the plastic version but is still blowback and shoots 50fps higher then the metal version at 390fps.Then i seen the legends m712 full auto and i was blown away my question is the uzi is only semi auto and the legends is full auto and all metal with less fps what would you choose if you could only afford 1 at the moment?

asked emit

I'd go with the M712. Full auto is just plain fun. And you can practice firing short bursts.

Keith

The Legend's is TOTALLY REALISTIC ! You will not be disappointed. Buy a box of CO2 as they go thru them pretty quick on full auto. But SO much fun. As far as 50fps here and there? You'll never notice that. I have hunting bb/pellet guns and they are SO much higher and more powerful. These are for fun and plinking. Full auto is a LOT more fun and a great experience than semi-auto. I say metal all the way, full auto all the way. If ya want to kill a rabbit cleanly and humanely ? There are many other options. Have fun, hope this helps.

tim from USA

If it's a choice between airsoft plastic and a good metal bb or pellet gun...get the bb or pellet gun instead. The M712 is too much fun to shoot and very heavy. I had a magazine failure after 10 loads. I have the KWC metal uzi too and it is a blast.

Michael from USA

are extra magazines available?

asked duane from USA

Umarex has not yet made extra magazines available.

Scott from USA

Anyone figured out a way of fixing the free-floating inner brass barrel within the shroud? The set screw simply joins the shroud and the gun body and if screwed in totally actually just goes through to the inner barrel and leaves the shroud unconnected to the gun body.

asked Steven from USA

How many feet per second does each round travel? Is 350 fps correct?

asked Hunter

I DON'T HAVE A CRONO BUT SHOOTING SINGLE SHOTS IN MY BACKYARD I COULD SEE A DROP STARTING AT 20 YARDS. STILL VERY FUN TO SHOOT. YOU'LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME LOADING IT.

JOHN from USA

full auto?

asked JEFF from USA

JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES....WOW

JOHN from USA

Yes, these have full auto capability, and they are a absolute riot to shoot full auto! Our only complaint is that we run through BB's and Co2 to fast.
