Just imagine the joy on the face of the favorite kid in your life when they open that box and see their very own BB gun for the first time. The excitement they will have when they realize they can learn to shoot and p[practice their skills anytime. Their joy will warm your heart with memories from the first time you got your first Daisy BB gun. You'll get to share your experience with them and make memories together over plinking cans and punching holes in paper.

With the Daisy Red Ryder BB gun, you'll get 650 BBs flying across the lawn at 350 feet per second per fill. You'll want to stock up on extra BBs to keep the fun going all day. Just don't forget to have everyone wear shooting glasses, because bbs tend to ricochet when they hit hard surfaces.

Good company to do business with and very fast shipping.

Pros
The gun is exactly the same as the one I had as a kid. My grandsons love it. I functions well with no problems.

Cons
I wish it wasn't now made in China!

When they turn them out with wood stocks and all steel parts I will buy one for my grandson.

Pros
I loved my old Red Ryder...wood stock, steel lever, etc. It drastically increased grip strength. After a while I could cock it with ease and I am sure that those bb's were exiting the barrel faster than 350fps. punched holes in old steel cans as far away as I could hit one.

Cons
Looks "classic" on web page and the hype is exemplary. This one is NOT a classic; composite lever?? plastic stock?? Not worth 40 bucks!

It's pretty cool.

Pros
- A good bb rifle to introduce a new young kid to shooting. - A classic. - Cheap bb gun. - Easy to cock. - Fun to plink with.

Cons
- Has trouble shooting at times. - Ricochets everywhere due to it's lack of power.

The Red Ryder is a good shooter and I’m surprised at how much fun it is with a scope. The mount and scopes are sold here. I had to turn the back of the scope several turns to focus the cross hair for my eye and put two washers totaling 3mm under the rear of the scope mount to bring the impact where I needed it so I could adjust the cross hair right on target. It shoots one big hole at 5 meters and at 10 meters its much better. At super long shots it’s really fun to shoot cans.👍

Bought rifle for grandson for Christmas. Was able to use it first time Memorial weekend on family vacation.Loaded it and used it for 10 shots and missfired 3 of 10 times and than would not shoot over 5 feet. My grandson was just heartbroken and had been waiting to shoot since Christmas.Thought Daisy was a good product.

Pros
Looks nice

Cons
Broke after 10 shots

I bought two of these Red Rider rifles, one for a prop with my Christmas Story leg lamp decoration along with a framed picture of the Parker Family. The other Red Rider rifle was for me to have some fun with. I received both today with ammo and I have to say I am very impressed with this air rifle. After adjusting the sights I was able to hit every can target I set up. Plus I was impressed that with 25+ feet away the BB went through the empty beer can target. Highly recommend this as a beginner's target air rifle for the price.

Pros
Looks great with my Christmas Story leg lamp

This was most people's first BB gun, and got many started in their fire arms training. A classic. I bought mine to hang on a wall with a Buck and a model 25. This is America's roots when it comes to air guns. For Shooting I prefer pellet guns. BBs ricochet too much. Don't have the accuracy, and even a Red Ryder can't produce the power of a cheap CO2 pellet rifle. Nor the accuracy of a rifled pellet gun. But these are cheap, fun and nostalgic.

Pros
Cheap Classic

Cons
BB gun No power

I loved my Red Ryder but after probably 500 shots, it no longer loads a BB. Looks pretty much like a closed system. How do I fix it?

asked Jerry

You may be able to use a gun cleaning rod or a pipe cleaner down the barrel because it may be jammed. But the best bet might be to contact Daisy.

James L from USA

Hello, can this be shipped to the UK?

I heard that on some of the Red Ryders the lever was made of plastic but was later changed to metal. What year did they go back to metal and how do I make sure I am not getting the model with plastic via an internet purchase ?

asked Bob

I would recommend calling Daisy and seeing when stopped making them with plastic. Daisy 800-643-3458

Is it possible to put a scope on it?

asked Toubouc

No.

My little brother has a 70 year anniversary red ryder and i was wondering if he can kill anything with it. I think its the same exact gun as this just says 70th anniversary. If he cant kill anything what is a good gun i can buy him to kill a squirrel maybe for under $50 a clean kill. He is about 80 pounds and 4' 10" tall if that changes anything. I really dont want to give him a .177 silent cat becuase i dont think hes ready for it but i would like to get something for him that is large enough and strong enough to take down a squirrel from about 20 yards. Or should i just let him use one of my rifles?

asked andrew from USA

Hello Andrew, You would have a hard time killing any animal with the red ryder since it is a bb gun. Pellet guns hit much harder. The Gamo Recon is a youth pellet rifle with fairly low FPS (525) that is still powerful enough to kill small animals like squirrels. The rifle is a bit smaller than adult rifles so your son would have no problem using it. The gun is $75 which unfortunately is a bit higher than your desired $50. I hope this helped
