If good things come in small packages, then the R7 is a really good thing! Compact in size but not in performance, the Beeman R7 is often called the "little R1." It's that good. Other than size, there are very few differences between the R1 powerhouse and the R7. Through the double-jointed cocking lever, the R7 delivers a reduced cocking effort (almost half the R1). That makes this the perfect gun for smaller shooters, women or anyone who wants an easy-cocking spring-piston gun. The R7 is 5" shorter than the R1 and over 2.5 lbs. lighter. Don't worry about marring the finish, because the satin finish on the stained beech stock resists minor scratches. Sight up your target with the open sights, or mount a scope 11mm dovetail grooves in the receiver. The checkered pistol grip gives you a solid hold, while the rubber buttpad adds even more control. Like the R1, this gun has the famous Rekord trigger, giving you a predictable, crisp, adjustable let-off. The R7 is a German-made engineering marvel that will deliver decades of shooting pleasure.

This was a great rifle when new. However, I had it in the gun cabinet for several years (~5). When I took it out to use it it would not fire with trigger. It would fire if I pressed the safety release instead of the trigger! Clarification: One cocks the gun, presses the safety release, then pulls the trigger. No good. trigger does nothing. Pressing the safety fires the gun. Trigger does nothing.I have another Beeman that also would not function after sitting in the gun cabinet for the same time. I have no idea what could have caused the guns to malfunction just from sitting in the cabinet, but for the price paid, it should not have happened.

Pros
Very good when it was new!

Not many reviews on this gun. Have had the R7 for eight months, quick review This gun received in perfect condition, pre ordered out stock, waited one month 10% off deal. It is .177 cal., with deep blueing, nicely even stained stock with nice figure. Beautifull ! Mounted Hawke 3x9x40AO scope with Hawke med. mounts. Had to put one small shim in rear ring to get scope aligned. Warning these mounts and scope set it very close to the receiver. They gave two dollar bill clearance. Perfect ! Sighted in at 10yds. with JSB Exact 8.44, after slight adjustment, one hole. My range is limited to 25yds..Moved to that distance first 5 shot group under 1/2". No break in out of the box. Tried 12 different pellets in gun most shot well. Does not like heavy pellets, likes lead light to medium weight. Loves all JSP in this category. After about 100 shots, gun was smooth as silk, easy to cock, quiet. Groups had dropped to 1/4" or less, no uncalled flyers. Some groups are one tiny whole. It needed no break in and after 1500 pellets it still shoots that well. I did take the gun out of stock to adjust trigger. Warning this may void warranty. Im not concerned with that. Will tune this one myself, when needed. Trigger now breaks safely at 14oz.crisp snaps like glass, good as any I have seen in any target gun. You can not adjust screw without straightening the detent inside gun. This is the perfect backyard target and plinker out to,saaay, 35 yards. Has enough power to take small varmits at that distant. Good job AGD!

The Beeman Air Rifle is awesome. I have the .22 cal version but it has to be almost identical. I went to a barn this morning and tried to shoot pigeons but their weren't any. Since there were no pigeons I shot some targets and was amazed at how powerful it has. I put five foam coffee cups and a water bottle in a line. The pellet went right through everything and went into the hay stack beyond it. I was using the .22 Hollow Point Pellets and think that they are great.

Pros
Accuracy.

Cons
Cocking the barrel gets a bit tiring.

I purchased the R7 and received it 3 days later with standard shipping! Airgun Depot allowed the use of the 10% off coupon on the R7. Some other online air gun suppliers will not allow their coupons to be used with the R7. I purchased a Bushnell Banner 4-12X40 from another internet merchandiser for $83. The entire package R7 with scope totaled $433 delivered. Compared with the $366 I was planning to spend from the other online air gun supplier for the Weihrauch HW30S with the same Bushnell scope, I was very happy to select the R7. Being left handed I preferred the ambi R7 vs the right handed HW30S with open sights. (really liked the idea of open sights tho). Also the back order status for the HW30S put my delivery off by approximately 1 month. AGD customer service was terrific, identifying the gun in inventory and available for next day mailing. Put approximately 1000 pellets through the gun in the first week. My gun is extremely accurate with RWS Superdomes 8.3 gr up to approximately 75 feet. Drop requires compensation beyond 25 yds. The gun also likes CPL hollow point 7.9 gr and believe it or not Beeman .177 hollow point 7.2 gr coated. The Beeman pellets are most accurate from 75+ feet. Did not perform as well with JSB Diabolo Exacts 8.2 gr, despite all the online rave reviews. I will soon also try RWS Diabolo Basic 7.0 gr Wadcutter and the JSB Match Diabolo Exact RS/Air Arms Falcon 7.33 gr, Domed. I highly recommend this gun for casual target and plinking. Very smooth, easy to cock and accurate. I enjoy shooting this gun all day.

Pros
Accuracy (1/4 inch groups at 25 yards) Size/Weight (small/light) Cocking effort (light) Noise level (quiet) Stock design & checkering Trigger (allows amazing trigger control) AGD allows 10% coupons to be used for R7

Cons
Lack of open sights
