I found the cross hairs on original scope were too thick. With a scope change this is one of the finest break barrel pellet rifles I have ever shot.
Pros
Great consistent power and accuracy!
Cons
Stock could be a little longer.
I have just got this Airgun today. I like this rifle great buy. It has great power , I was happy the see that it comes with a working suppressor. I first bore sighted both the open sights and then the scope. Open Sights are good it takes a little to get use to but once you get there I was putting 5 shot in a nickle size group at about 10 yards. Using Crosman premier 14.3 gr. pellets , the scope is what it is ok. I think I had to raise the elevation to its max. But now able to put 5 shots in a dime size group at 20 yards.
Pros
Power , working suppressor , Bipod
Cons
scope
This is a great pellet gun. I like the 22 call better, It gives you a different suppressor, and fixed sights. this is a true hunting pellet gun. The scope that came with the gun was better then a 35.00 scope that I had bought, it would not keep the mark once you found it. this one seems to be better. But for serious shooters I would buy a better scope. Even with the suppressor this gun is loud,so I would ck in with the Neighbors before starting any shooting, just to let them know so they don't panic. lol
Pros
Clean the pellet gun when you get it. get a pellet gun cleaning rod. the gun has a lot of build up inside, by doing so you will keep the gun from dieseling.
Cons
Heavy
It is said it is a heavy gun, well not so much, maybe it is for some. I am still working to figure out what pellet it likes. It is very accurate at 20 yds with the Crosmans but at 50 yds oh boy, huge drop. It doesnt shoot as fast as my Hatsan 95 Vortex so that may make it not great at 50 yd ranges. I do not have a chrono but I have spinner targets, and can tell by the revolutions upon a hit. And as said by many ...the scope sucks, good enough but well 4x magnification just isnt enough.
Pros
-The bipod, its a nice feature, do not have to bring out the styrofoam block for the front rest.
-accurate at 20 yds, deadly accurate.
Cons
-scope, its good enough but you will buy another one, 4x magnification isnt enough.
-not sure how it will do at 50 yds yet, still working to find its favorite pellet.
Great kick, awesome accuracy, I hit a bulls eye 3 times out of 8 shots from 55 yards with no scope!
Pros
? Accuracy
? Weight
? Manufacturing
? Firepower for pellet size
? Quality build and easy to clean
Cons
Factory sights are too tall for 100% accuracy. Bought an aftermarket scope and sight for practicing before using a real sniper rifle.
the rifle if it is very precise with a different scoop
Pros
Good rifle
Coolest hottest looking air gun out there, can trough lead on target, good killing power
Pros
Hot gun would recommend to anyone
Cons
No cons
This gun is deadly accurate. I mean pellet on top of pellet accurate. Just make sure your first move is putting a nice quality scope on it. The one included works but this gun will not perform to its full potential with the included scope. The weight of the gun lends to its ability to remain accurate through the shot as these guns have a lot of recoil. If you only plan to purchase one pellet gun, this is the one. Just an absolute 10 in terms of quality. I have 3 Spring piston rifles but this one is my go to gun for rats and small animals that require precision shots for a humane kill. I set it up so I'm able to be seated and just make headshots. I just can't say enough about how accurate this gun is. I have probably put 10 or 15 thousand pellets through it and I still shake my head in amazement after each shot. The pellet goes EXACTLY where the crosshairs are! Exactly! Just a rock solid, high quality gun that is priced way, way under its value.
Pros
Unbelieveable quality, great feel, great weight, a pure pleasure to shoot.
Cons
Other than upgrading the scope there is not one single thing I would change on this gun. It is absolutely perfect.
Great feel and way more power than expected. But after twenty shots barrel fell apart and James pellets in the barrel . Haven't called yet to see what air gun Depot will do. I'll keep you posted
Pros
Good weight , strong kick, great look.
Cons
Pricey, broke first time out , chin guard won't tightin , cheap scope low magnification,

asked Jakeit is a standard weaver 1 in. mount for 1 in. scope tube. i have 2 black op guns 1spring 1 gas both love crosman holopoint and crosman point pellets .they both shoot .20 center to center at 20 yards . i bought them used at kock shops. iwanted to see how they were for the money extreamly acurate and powerful . but stay away from tin pellets with the spring mod. you will blow the spring at about 900 to 1000 rounds.....

Chip from USACan you recommend a rifle case that fits this air rifle?

Chip from USAWill this kill a bobcat or coyote
asked AjWith this rifle (.22 cal) you would need to be within 10-15 yards of the coyote or bobcat for a clean kill, so I would say that is pretty unlikely. So, not a good choice IMO.
Dennis from USAThe wary bobcat are territorial and can be both stalwartly defensive and aggressive: you should not wish to encounter a merely defensive or, worse, wounded bobcat with only your .177 rifle: the rifle may look mean to you but the bobcat would soon disabuse you of that notion. At about -30 lbs. a bobcat is a small creature, yet it is powerful, with claws and fangs, and it moves faster than you. Be prudent. Finally, the wariness of both bobcat and the coyote translates as "it's unlikely you'll see either;" however, if you do consistently observe either of them I suggest you know the game laws in your state and bring out the smokeless powder guns before you intentionally tangle with either of them: I recommend .22 magnum and larger. If you are seeing them, something is cockeyed, and you should _observe_ carefully before getting your self close enough to shoot: rabid animals don't act normally, which is one reason why you might eyeball one of these stalkers. Finally, you're not going to eat either of these creatures if they do not pose an imminent threat to you, your family, your pet/s, do you want the pelt? If the answer is no (there is hardly any animal more difficult to skin than a coyote and it requires an experienced hand to mot make a mess of it), why trouble them?
Russ from USAMost .177 caliber guns do not produce enough knockdown power to take larger game such as coyotes or bobcats. Your best bet is to look into a large caliber air rifle of .25 caliber or greater
Scott from USACan u hunt small game with it or is it unlawful
asked tyler nyeI think that would be a good question to ask your wildlife agency in your state.
Steven FitzgeraldCALL THE PA. DIVISION OF FISH AND GAME.
Mario from USAAs of this date it is against the Pa. game laws to hunt small game with anything other than a firearm using gunpowder powered projectiles. Of course bows and crossbows are nor prohibited. Think Pa. is now only one of two states where this still applies. Sorry.
William from USACan't see any reason you couldn't use this gun for small game. The stock makes this gun look out of the picture for hunting, but I have another gun with a different stock with the same barrel. The same gun with a different suit. Gas Piston, Spring action or Compressed Air, doesn't change the title Air Rifle name so why would the Stock. You may want to check with your local game warden, they are the pros. Hope this helps.
Don II can't see any reason you couldn't use this gun for small game. The only difference is the apparatus that holds the barrel. You may want to check with your local game warden. A dog in a dress is no different than a dog in jeans its a dog. By the way this is a great gun.
Don IThis air rifle is certainly powerful enough to kill small game when the pellet is properly placed but it is important to read your specific state's rules about caliber and type of weapons allowed for the taking of specific game before going out and hunting with it. These types of rules ensure a clean and humane kill.
Al from USAWhere do I load the bbs into the gun I just got it today and I am confused
asked ConnorThis is not a bb gun, it is a break barrel pellet rifle. You need to pull down on the barrel to break the hinge, this will cock the spring as well as allow you to load the pellet. Do not attempt to fire bb's out of this rifle as they will not properly fit in the barrel and may cause damage to the gun.
Scott from USAAre you SURE this is GAS PISTON? Two websites say it is Spring Piston and Two say it is Gas Piston. I am confused, thanks for your help
asked JohnMan3There are basically two versions. The original "Black Ops Sniper Rifle" was a spring "(springer") type power plant, and were mostly sold by "Walmart" (circa-2010-2015). Now they are harder to find, and they have a gas piston power plant. From what information I have gathered, the original source company was sold, distributionof this air-gun was limited, and a small number of changes were made to this product, (i.e. the stock was no longer adjustable). One of the principals of the original company is attempting to re-acquire the rights to produce this item. GLM
G-Mog-1953This one is the Gas Piston, I bought the previous model which is the Spring moder on sale for $99.99 delivered to my door. The first thing I did was to put away the scope that came with it and bought and installed a nice 3-12×50 illuminated retical with sun shades along with a Red/Green/Blue dot scope a Green laser and a Tactical light. It shoots and looks great even though with all these additions it's so heavy I need 2 mules to carry it to the bench/ table to shoot/ play with it. I have 8 other 177 cal./ 6mm airsoft that are also decked out but out of all of them this has been my favorite from the beginning. I would recommend this to any adult but I would say try before you buy if you can to be sure it's right for you because it's heavy, large ang takes a little effort to cock it. All in all AAAAA+++++
Robert from USAthe 2013 model is spring powered and the new 2014 model is gas piston
PhilThe box/manufacturer lists it as 'Power Piston Technology'. Not sure if this is the same as what other manufacturers call Nitro Piston or not, but all the sites I've found list this unit in the same category as their Nitro Piston guns. It may just be Black Ops USA's trademarked name for the same thing.
Curt from USAIs this really GAS PISTON or is it SPRING?
asked John ManIt's a gas piston. I doubt you could get 1250 fps out of a spring powered rifle.
Kerwin from USAI e mailed black ops this question. They say it is a gas piston

Most part I’d give this an A-
Pros
Outstanding... love how solid this is! Quite powerful
Cons
Don’t care for the optics. Took too long to zero. And still isnt. Bipod is flimsy
