I wanted to try something different and i'm glad i did, this is a great pellet rifle, who cares about the plastic sights or the trigger pull, this is a very accurate and quite weapon. I'm not sure about the 600 fps but it packs a punch, it will bury it's self in my neighbors fence and did i say it's super accurate. my backyard is around 15 or so yards and i'm getting nickel size groups. first of all i also ordered the crosmam optimus combo along with the raven youth rifle and took the scope from the optimus and put it on the raven and since the very small recoil doesn't affect the accuracy it's a match made in heaven, i have a couple bags of army men sit up through out the yard and some spinners too. the raven has no problem knocking down the army men and spinning the spinners. i will talk about the crosman optimus in another review later. so too wrap things up yall should maybe try this rifle, for the price of 3 cases of beers you could have this in your collection of fine pellet rifles. hope this might get ya to maybe look into this rifle... SEE YA!!!!
Pros
quite, accurate, light weight bla bla bla.
Cons
none, nada, zip..
bought this for my grandson to replace his daisey 880 pump. After receiving the gun I cleaned all the oil off the gun and cleaned the barrel then the fun started. I went through 5 different pellets types and could not get a group smaller than 2" and was starting to think this gun was going back, then I tried the last of the pellet type I had which was jsb exact dome 8.44 grain. Would not believe the surprise I got ,started stacking pellets on top of each other. This gun is pellet picky but once you find the right pellet you can not find a better shooting gun. I'll post a pic of the group I shot. I love shooting this gun, going to hate to see it go, My grandson could not be getting a better gun.
Pros
easy to cock , light in hand shoots great when you find the right pellet
Cons
tigger is a little stiff but you get used to it.
I bought this as a trainer for my six year old. He loves it and it's exactly the accurate and easy to use rifle he needed. He can cock it by himself.
Pros
Inexpensive, accurate, lightweight and fun to shoot.
Cons
I'd like to see a Nitro Piston option in the youth size. But, for a springer, this one is smooth and easy even for a little shooter.
This is a nice gun for the money. Had to make some adjustments so it would cock. Sites are cheap.
Pros
Lightweight.
Cons
Sites
i have shoot competition air rifles capable of putting hole in hole accuracy at 10 meters i got this air rifle and bought a 3-9x40mm scope for it and i could shoot birds squirrels and the pop tabs off pop cans at 15-20+ meters this rifle is easy to cock takes a very cheap ammunition and can deliver accurate shots at 15-20 yards perfect spriger even if the muzzle velocity is 600 feet per secondbut the trigger might not be the best its appropriate for the price
Pros
range,accuracy,easy to cock,good pest control/target air rifle
Cons
muzzle velocity
I bought this gun for my son for his 9th birthday, it was an upgrade from his Crosman 760 Pump Rifle, and is easy for him to pump himself. We have added a BSA scope to his gun, and with the Crosman Destroyer pellets at 15 yards, the gun shoots true, grouping 5 shots within 3/4" (not bad for a 9 year old).
Pros
Excellent Youth Gun (good size and weight)
Easy for a 9 year old to pump
Shoots true
Cons
Open sites are made of synthetic materials (not iron sites)
This gun is amazing
I got this for my son. It's his first pellet rifle and he loves it. It's light and very easy to cock. The trigger needs some work.
Pros
Light
Easy To Load
Cons
Trigger
Sights
Gun was bought as a step up from Crosman 2100 Classic ,pump up rifle. We shoot targets and cans only. It is more of a one step forward, two steps back. The open sights are not usable, rear sight flops around every time you reload! Should not have to buy a scope for a beginner rifle! Trigger is also not good as a 2100 Classic. Point of impact 8" below point of aim at 100 feet. Plastic trigger and safety mechanism are scary. Keep pointed downrange!! Use only with adult supervision!!!!
Pros
Looks real cool! Break barrel is easy for an 11 year old. Shoots pellets.
Cons
Bad open sight system. Trigger not up to snuff. Made in CHINA.
Question?
Login to ask someone who bought this product.Could I eliminate rabbits out of my garden at 25 yards? Quietly? My neighbor loves those little produce eaters!
asked Francois this legal in england and can it be shipped to england
asked johnTry checking out at the sight and if there is a restriction you will get a warning before you purchase the product. There are a lot of different regulations for all different countries and they are always changing, so we have set up an automatic warring if there is a product, based on your location, that is forbidden. Shipping price always changes, but you should be able to see the final price before you complete your purchase.
Scott from USAWould it be good for doves and squirrels?
asked chalrieFor doves and squirrels, they have to be in season, and you have to follow all state regulations regarding hunting. But as far as power, this really doesn't have enough to really take them down one shot. If you hit them with this, you will have to chase them for a ways to finally put another shot into them. Personally, I'd get something with a little more power (800-1,000 fps range).
Conor from USAIs the barrel rifled?
asked chrisRifled Steel, overmold
Scott from USAWould this gun be considered reliable, safe, fun and overall a good weapon for a beginner?
asked JonhYes. It was my brother's first gun and we still have it (bought it 5 years ago). It has seen many thousands of rounds through it.
Conor from USAhow do you cock
asked coreyCorey, The easiest way to cock a break barrel pellet rifle is to sit down and place the gun across your lap, with the barrel overhanging, hit the barrel near the front sight with the palm of your hand and it should open up. Sincerely, The Airgun Depot Customer Care Team
Steve from USAwould this rifle be better than the youth Gamo gun with pellets scope and targets? Obviously we would have to purchase everything else, mount scope pellets and target which would step up the price.. Any thoughts?
asked laneIf you are simpoly planning on using the gun for target plinking, this gun will be perfect. It's power is a bit weak so if you plan on killing squirrels or other small animals, the gamo would be better.
