A gas-piston powerplant should be high on your list if you enjoy hunting or eliminating pests with our air rifle. Crosman's Nitro Piston is reliable and lets you hunt in the coldest weather without slowing down. Guns with metal mainsprings have lube on them- which thickens in cold weather. If it's cold enough, that thick lube slows down the gun so much that it doesn't have reasonable power. Don't depend on a powerplant that's weather-sensitive if you can have one that works the same regardless of the temperature. Crosman Shockwave NP air rifle is suitable for dispatching small critters at close distances. Get rid of squirrels, rabbits, rats, mice, gophers and more. If hunting is going to be your main use, get the .22 caliber for max power. Besides critter control, this gun makes a fun backyard plinker.

Crosman Shockwave NP Air Rifle Features
  • Nitro Piston (gas-piston powerplant)

Hold it to your Shoulder
When I first put this to my shoulder, I couldn't sight the gun because the stock was against my cheekbone when trying aim through the open sights, rather than my cheek. It seems this is made for scopes only, though I didn't try that, because I wanted to be able to shoot with open sights.

Bottom line, hold this gun as if you're going to shoot it before buying. This Depot is rather unkind, because if you open the box, you can't get a refund - only a credit to buy something else. Very unkind.

Wish it had worked out, because conceptually, it could have been good.

Best for Money
Thing is a hammer. No problem taking squirrels and rabbits down from 30 yds with proper pellets. I found best weight range to be 14-16 gr in the .22 cal, mainly Crosman Premeir Hollowpoint. Scope isnā€™t bad.
ProsPrice, power, super quiet, light
ConsScope, no way to mount rifle strap
Best UsesHunting

Delivers as promised
With two plus acres of woods, we have plenty of squirrels. Not that I want to kill the little critters,I want them to leave our deer feed alone. This pellet rifle has the power for long shots and with the included scope, it will reach out and keep the squirrels scattering. Great product and would not hesitate to recommend it for the price/power. Thanks

Excellent all around air rifle
This is a great air rifle for the money. Perfect weight and power. The accuracy is there too. Prior to this purchase of the .177 Cal., I had bought the .22 Cal. version. both are great air guns. AirgunDepot does a great job packaging their product for shipping. A box within a box... so no damage, excelent.
Prosa great all around gun for weight, feel, power, and accuracy.

great gun for beginners
i shoot at 25 yards and this gun will do the trick. my brother got me into this pellet gun shooting.don't use the scope that comes with this gun, don't need it. i liked the .22 so much i bought a .177 also.i'm planning on putting a good scope on it soon and see just what it will do. for the money you can't go wrong. i gave it 4 stars but when i can hit the x ring 10 out of 10 with open sights i'll gladly change it to a 5 star
Prosthe stock on this model keeps me from worrying about dents and dings. it is a very hard hitting gun and accurate after one gets used to the sights
Consain't no cons about this gun

First air rifle.
I have just got into air gunning. I grew up hunting with modern guns and compound bows. I was really shocked by the crosman shockwave .22 cal. I cant believe that ive been wasting money on .22cal lr ammo for squirrels and rabbits. I use benjamin discovery hp and gamo red fire pellets. Ive found those to be the most accurate. Dont buy those pba bullets for this gun!!!!! Highly inaccurate!!!!!! Im so impressedwith this rifle that im about to buy the benjamin trail xl .25 cal. I have a little coyote problem. If that doesnt work ive always have my old trusty 30-06 as a go to for the coyotes.
ProsGreat everything.
ConsI havent found any. Even the center point scope is suficent enough for 60 yd shots. Ive killed rabbits at that distance and get 1 inch groupings with the discovery hp's.

Good bang for the buck
Picked up a 22 caliber Shockwave locally as I had a discount to use. Mounted the scope and started shooting. Got it dialed in quickly. It holds pretty good groups, within an inch at 25 yards. I am not as steady as I used to be so it can probably do better. I am using Crosman Piranha hollow points and it shoots awesome. Premier hollow points work well also and use the same scope settings as the Piranhas. I wanted something with a little more punch than my Beeman RS2. The Shockwave delivers! I live out in the boonies and am over-run with squirrels that are trying to chew into my house. No more squirrels! They drop like rocks with straight through head shots at 20-30 yards.
ProsHard hitting - NP2 nitrogen piston! Accurate Weight is just right for me Less recoil and sound than my springer Good price point
ConsA little hard to cock, definately requires more effort than my Beeman RS2 springer. Scope is not great, but it is useable. Mine seems to be holding well so far. Trigger pull is heavier than I like. It is not nearly as nice as the real two stage trigger in the Beeman RS2. I wouldn't hold back on buying one based on these cons, just the reasons I didn't give it a full 5 star rating.

Good gun for the money
The gun is very easy to shoot and my wife and I shot it a bunch after mounting the scope, my wife was shooting better than me and at 25 yards all the pellets were within 1 inch with most touching each other, I like the trigger and the only thing I can think of is if the gun after being cocked went to safety would be better.

Brutal Beast
ordered this rifle and received it 2 days later, got it for a 15yr old who lives in Arkansas. set up a pepsi cans about 30yds out and it took him about 5 shots to get on target, after that he was dinging the cans all afternoon. as far as the scope it will look nice on the crosman 1077. i didn't clean the barrel or adjust the trigger or any other crap like that, it's a pellet rifle. this would be a great turkey rifle if it's legal in your state. this is a powerfull beast so get the heavy pellets we used 28.4gns and they blew up cans ,no mercy at all. as far as cocking it's not a problem for a grown but you youngens might have a problem with it so just think of it as workout. all in all this rifle is a beast so be safe and enjoy...
Pros.accurate, deadly, priced right, bla bla bla!!
Consiron sight would be nice.

Pretty Darn Cool
First up: The shipping was incredibly fast. I think I ordered on a Wednesday and it was at my doorstep on Saturday. Next up: The rifle handles well. Those accustomed to shooting a long rifle will appreciate the trigger grip and the comfortable cheek rest on the stock. I shot about 50 pellets the first day, and I was more than impressed with the power. You'll like this little air rifle. Big bang for the buck.... pardon the pun.
ProsPrice-point for performance. Fast shipping.

Feels solid. Hits hard.
Nice solid gun with a good action. The noise is very different from a magnum springer but not much quieter. Good velocity. The stock on the gun makes it very hard to use the fiber optic sights, but that is the only thing I have found that I didn't like.
ProsPower, shooting action, rifle feel.
ConsStock design

Powerful and accurate
First, chunk the scope. The rifle is excellent, with a lot of power. Once you get the trigger adjusted, and the irons sighted in it's a joy to shoot. I debated for a few weeks between a few models and don't have any regrets on this one.
ProsAdjustable trigger Plenty of power Light Accurate
ConsScope is trash
