Advertising states it can be fired in single or double action modes but I could see no way to fire it in single action mode. I am disappointed to see that bit of misinformation in print.

This low cost pistol has been an excellent shooter, not my only Umarex product. My Dad and I both have one and with some minor tweaks you can't beat it, (see Cons). Both are very accurate, approximately 60 accurate shots per canister. Out of the box was very accurate and no problems with my Dads, with mine I oiled and has been shooting greate, with no real complaints about the trigger pull. The Trigger pull is more than some but still very good for someone who knows their way around a double action, not a deal breaker! I have approximately 200 rounds through mine and it just keeps getting better. Get one you won't regret it.
Cons
With my Avera the brass insert for the handle was pressed in to deep and I had to trim some plastic out of the treads to make the handle tight, not a big deal, especially for the cost. I also had to adjust the rear sight and it would not adjust do to the set screw having a point and when inserted created a divot in the pistol body not allowing for small adjustments. I ground off the point of the set screw and filled the divit, now I can adjust the rear sight with no issues. The accuracy of this pistol is amazing out to about 25 ft, hitting consistent quarter sized groups.
