The Umarex Gauntlet 2 is the next evolution of the airgun that changed the industry and raised expectations about what was possible for performance without breaking the bank. This upgraded model reaches speeds up to 1075 fps in .22 and 985 in .25, plus energy up to 33 fpe in .22 and 51 fpe in .25, so it gives you plenty of power for small game hunting, pest control, or target practice.

The air tank is the upgrade you'll spot right away, since it's noticeably larger than the one on the older model. At 24 cubic inches, it has almost double the volume of the previous version, so you'll get more shots, with over 70 shots in .22 and over 50 shots in .25. It also fills to a higher pressure of 4500 psi, which lets the regulator operate at 1900 psi in .22 and 2100 psi in .25, so you get higher power as well.

Another improvement is the use of a four baffle design, so you get shots that are 8 dB quieter than before even though they're faster and more powerful. There's also a larger bolt handle with knurling that's 15% easier to cock, plus the lighter and slimmer all weather synthetic stock, which is now flat dark earth instead of black.

The airgun now features a Picatinny/dovetail scope rail, plus M-LOK slots on the bottom and sides of the forearm so you can add accessories like bipods, lights, and lasers. If you're ready to experience the new developments in this line of consistent, accurate, and affordable airguns, get an Umarex Gauntlet 2 at Airgun Depot now.

You will not be disappointed with your purchase.

Pros
This is a really amazing air gun for the money I don’t think you can beat it..I have range finder verify 100 yard head shots.

Cons
Hard to cock…wish it was easier to cock it’s hard to get a fast reload if your in a difficult shooting position and need that next shot.

Deciding what compressor and tank system to go with is the only thing delaying my purchase. Regardless, it will be THIS airgun.

Pros
I don’t own this gun (yet) but I used it on a guided iguana hunt in south Florida recently. This air rifle is AMAZING. Absolutely AMAZING. I harvested nearly 100 lbs worth of iguanas in a 3 hour hunt from a boat, including a rangefinder-verified 79-yard headshot. This air rifle totally changed my mind about PCP airguns. I have several gas piston .22’s and thought they were an adequate representation of what an airgun could be. Until I used this. I have no idea what other PCP’s are like, and don’t care. I’m buying this one, because I’ve used it and that’s enough for me. The accuracy of this airgun is astonishing. It’s also very rugged and durable, and holds up to hard use under real world hunting conditions in a marine/tropical environment.

Cons
The safety arrangement is odd and takes some getting used to. Also, the bolt requires a great deal of effort. It is NOT like you’d expect coming from a bolt action rifle (firearm), it requires MUCH more effort to cycle. This makes rapid follow up shots difficult but with practice you can be back on target quickly. The pile of iguanas in the photo are testament to what an effective hunting tool this airgun is.

If you don't care about tuning or shooting very heavy slugs its a good option. I've had this and the Umarex origin. Going to try the Avenger next.

Pros
Shot count is awesome. Over 100 from full to empty in .22. Fairly quiet. Has lots of power.

Cons
Can't shoot very large slugs. 23 gr is the biggest slug you can shoot out of it. Shoots light pellets too fast to stabilize. so you either shoot expensive pellets fairly well or light pellets accurate out to about 40 yards. This gun does not have an adjustable regulator or hammer spring. very frustrating if you want to tune your gun for different pellets. bolt was fairly heavy initially. Very heavy gun and difficult to maneuver. The fore end causes point of impact shifts. You can sight it in and set it down and the next time you pick it up it hits in a different spot. If you take the fore end off it helps, but you can no longer attach a bipod. If you are not going to shoot heavier slugs and don't care about tuning, this is a good option.

I do recommend this Umarex Gauntlet 2.

Pros
Correction: On November 12, 2021 I wrote a review on my Gauntlet 2. I wrote that I got 3 shots at 1012 psi, using 8.18 grain Winchester .22 MaxSpeed Tin alloy pellets. It should have read, I achieved an average of 12.10 fps from 3 shots.

Cons
None.

This is my second pcp. The first one was the 1st Generation Gauntlet .25 caliber. I purchased it 14 months ago. This 2nd Generation I purchased in .22 caliber. I purchased in 1 month ago. I didn’t see a need to have both in the same caliber. I now fill them with my Umarex ReadyAir PCP Air Compressor, which I purchased 2 months ago. The 1st Gauntlet I was filling with my Hill Hand pump. It would take me about 250 pumps to fill it from empty to 3,000 psi, a great excercise and workout for arms and shoulders. I have no ambition to pump the Gauntlet 2 by hand pump to 4,500 psi, for obvious reasons. The Generation 1 fills in about 7 minutes from Empty. The Gauntlet 2 takes 19 minutes to fill from empty. When they get down to 1,000 to 1,500 psi I will top them off. A full bottle from each, or whichever I chose to shoot that day, is more than I need, as far as shot counts. Today I shot The .22 Gauntlet 2 with my lightest pellet, 8.18 grain Winchester: 3 shots averaging 1210 psi at 26.61 fpe

Pros
Power, velocity, and accuracy, using Competion Electronic for fps measurements of 3 the Winchester .22 caliber MaxSpeed 8.18 grain tin alloy pellets. Shooting these light grain pellets will definitely disturb some neighbors. After zeroing in the pellet, shooting about 20 pellets, I put the last 3 pellets in a dime size hole at 90 feet.

Cons
Nothing I can currently think of.

For those who are new to PCP like me. Buyer beware, you will need a High Pressure Pump for these Rifles. The Hand pump is not the best option in my opinion. Do your research and get an electric pump and plan on spending close to the same amount for the pump as you will for your rifle.. (depending on brand and quality.)

Pros
This is my 1st PCP, so keep that in mind. I have had a lot of other pump and break barrel pellet rifles and I wanted to try the PCP, so the first Pro. for the Gauntlet 2 is cost, for the money this seems to be a really good value, (time will tell how well it holds up). I need to run more pellets through it to really do a good review, but the power is amazing in comparison to other Pellet rifles I own in my experience. (and it is surprisingly quiet.) Thus far, out of the box, I am very happy with the quality and feel of this rifle. It is comparable in overall length to my Benjamin Trail NP rifle, but is significantly more powerful in my experience. First Impressions: I'd recommend the Gauntlet 2 to anyone wanting to try out the PCP world.

Cons
I would like to see a better safety on the rifle, the one it has is a bit clunky, but manageable

When unboxing i noticed the tank would rotate ,not firmly screwed in tight, thought that was normal,my first pcp and all.Filled to 4500 went out to the field to sight in scope. Click, just the mechanism, thought this cant be that quiet.Racked a second round,click.....oh no......Tried using weed whacker line to push pellets out.Nope.Started googling....tank not screwed in enough.Grabbed tank and got 180 degrees tighter, heard woosh of air,ok now have air.Dry fired with 2 pellets, launched out...Whew. So fill port was opposite of of bolt at first, now its the same side.Newbie sharing what i learned. 300 rounds in,all 18 grain barracudas.I work nights, i wanted the 25 cal, but surfing umerex directly at 3 am they dropped the 22 and jumped on it.The shipping address was from dicks sporting goods warehouse, said 3 day shipping, got it in 7 days. All and all this is pretty awesome, still want the 25 and waiting patiently.Scored two more magazines from amazon for 9 dollars more retail each. Buy it:)

Pros
Wow, this is my first pcp, this is super accurate, dialed in my bugbuster, and couldnt believe i hit targets at 50 yard with an inch group, mind you ive never owned a rifle with a scope before,so its a new learning curve

Cons
The magazines look flimsy, it came with 2 ,the second one was hard to reload on 3 fill, a little piece of rubber came out and now when im down to two shots it it wont advance unless i remove the mag and put it back in,then the final 2 shots go

I've only shot it a few times so far. Awaiting a compressor. This is a 4500 PSO tank. Pumping is a PIA!!! FYI

Pros
The whole enchilada. I am tall with long arms etc. this is a long rifle. It fits me perfectly. Shoulders well.

Cons
Maybe a wood stock option. Better mounting brackets or a actual Picatinny mount on the bottom of forearm.

Bad quality control,if yall would like to be in this game, please sell and ship a decent product,I get it a 399 dollar gun, what should you really expect, the thing is my 299 dollar hatsan is still going and going, haven't had an issue with it yet,I think unmarex spend more money on advertising than they make money with these guns, please go back to the quality board and try again, was willing to give yall another chance after the first gun debauchery, but I will no longer buy yall product,I can pretty much guess yall can careless tho, probably because yall make your money on the volume of people that don't send your guns back......yall do me a favor and call HATSAN,and find out how they make cheap guns that works (reliable, cheap, well made, and accurate, this product 8s pure garbage that's my overall

Pros
Only liked the reveiws, reviews, I guess that what they people for,to tell lies to sell a product,or send their spokesman/YouTube people the best product so they can sell..........

Cons
Gun was damage upon arrival, didn't have a pressure gage, and the bottle was lose and falling off,I would recommend this gun to any one,I guess I should have learned from the first gauntlet I bought the first one they made didn't last 4 months

Have they fixed the Stiff bolt action? I understand that it is quite difficult to operate on the #1 model?

Not really. It's a little better but not much. Read the Gauntlet 2 review in Hard Air Magazine on their web site. They comment specifically on this issue.

Hello, I am new to this world of air pistols and I was thinking of buying a PCP rifle and I like this model, can it accept a muzzle break to make it look a bit long?

asked Cesar from USA

Not familiar with M-lok, does will this rifle/package come with this and what Bipod can be used? Also, adding a Bipod, will this get in the way a sling stud, thanks David M

asked David from USA

M-lok is the standard made by Magpul for adding rails to real gun (usually AR15) handguards. For people that already have a bipod that goes on a pic rail, but doesn't want to buy another one, add a rail and put on your favorite bipod. I have an Atlas. They also sell m-lok quick detach points so you can match the QD point on the back of the stock.
