NEW! .177 caliber Benjamin Dual Fuel PCP & CO2 rifle. Includes easy-to-use hand pump.

Airgun Depot Review:

We've been testing the new Discovery PCP now for a few weeks and boy, have we been impressed! We were up and shooting in less than 5 minutes. PCP airguns have been way too complicated in the past with a vast assortment of probe adapters, pumps, attachments, hoses etc. With the Benjamin Discovery everything has been simplified. Simply hook up the gun to the pump, give it about 100 pumps to fully pressurize it and your're ready to shoot. We were able to get about 35 full power shots before the FPS started to drop off. That's enough for any hunt or pest control outing. Another aspect of the gun that really impressed us was it's accuracy. Groupings were well under 1 inch even out to 50 yards! you can expect .3" groups at about 25 yards. We also liked the fact that you can leave this air rifle charged so it's ready to go whenever you are. It's actually better for the airgun to have pressure in it.

We mounted our test rifle with a Centerpoint 3-9X40 scope with illuminated reticle and with this scope the gun is a joy to shoot. No recoil and near hole through hole accuracy at 25 yards. The gun is lightweight at just over 5 lbs and with a scope mounted it brings it to about 6 lbs which makes for easy handling and enjoyable shooting. If you're looking for a great gun for pest control or small game hunting this is the rifle for you. It's also a fun gun to just plink around the yard with.

Info from Crosman:

Get into precharged guns at an unheard-of price and also get the accuracy of an expensive European target rifle! Benjamin has bridged the gap and taken the pain out of PCP guns. Not only is this as low a price as you'll ever find on a PCP/hand pump combo, but it's so easy to pump up that a wispy teenager could do it! The Discovery has raised the bar for PCP guns because it uses only 2000 psi of air. What this means for you is less pumping! You can have your gun fully charged in less than 5 minutes. While the European companies race toward higher and higher air pressures, Benjamin is going the opposite direction and making it easier than ever to use a hand pump. If you want to use a scuba tank or carbon fiber tank, you can do that, too.

The Discovery gives you a choice! The gun comes with a magnificent walnut stock made especially for it. It also has Williams fiber optic front and rear sights and a built-in air pressure gauge. Included in the package is a hand pump that's easy to use and very clear on showing you when you've reached maximum operating pressure. When you open your box, you'll see easy-to-follow and easy-to-understand instructions that'll lead you step-by-step. If you're an experienced PCP user, you'll soon see that the Discovery is the easiest PCP you've ever used. If you're new to PCPs, you'll become a pro in just a few short steps. If you want to switch to CO2, that's easy to do. There's a special tool that lets you quickly and safely exhaust all the high-pressure air (or you can just shoot the air out). Attach the optional CO2 adapter (separate purchase), connect it to a paintball CO2 tank and fill 'er up! Now, commence to shootin'! With high-pressure air, you'll get about 35 powerful shots before you need to pump up again. On CO2, you'll get a lot more. The Discovery is manufactured and built in the U.S.

Like the size and the weight, feel good just to hold it.Bought this gun for back yard pest control but can not use it due to loud noise..I have neighbors all around.Don't know if the gun is leaking or not,I lost about 250 psi or more in 24 hours.Love the way it shoot..penny sized group @ 25 yards every time.
Good looking little gun and shoot very nicely...thank you.
The gun is loud and seems to be leaking.

Best buy ever!

I bought my Benjamin Discovery on one of AD's "Lightning Deals" for about $75.00 less than a computer's list price. I LOVE THIS GUN. I just got into airguns about a year ago (not counting my Benjamin pump I had as a kid). I first bought a Umarex Octane which was hard to cock, heavy, and difficult to shoot accurately. Then bought a Crosman Vantage, which was a AD refurb "Lightning Deal" which I liked much better. I kept reading about the Discovery and determined that I needed one. I jumped on it when AD did the lighting deal. It is much lighter than the break barrels, and easier to shoot more accurately. FYI I got the 177 caliber. I did put a TKO muzzle brake on it which quieted it considerably.
Price. Light weight, accuracy. I have read complaints about the trigger but I like mine fine. The included pump works great. I am 74 years old with a bad back, bad knees and severe corporal tunnel syndrome in one hand and I have no problem pumping it to 2000 psi. About 50 slow steady pumps from 1000 to 2000. It is not pellet picky. Can get sub .300 five shot groups at 15 yards with JSB Exact Monster Diabolo 13.43; slightly over .300 with Crosman Premier 7.9 HP, and similiar groups with a couple other brands and weights of pellets.
A longer hose on the pump would be good. If someone would offer an optional longer hose I would happily purchase it. Other than that everything else is great.

Great Starter PCP

This gun has been extremely accurate and is very light to carry. A lot of fun to shoot. Very accurate at 120+ yards. I added a 4-16x50 scope and a bipod to the gun.

this is a great combo. I have the .177 cal version. I have had this gun & pump for 1 year 2 mos. no problems at all. accuracy I was getting 3/10" on somedays to 1/2" on others at 25yds. that's scoped and on 3 sand bags. about 3 mos. ago I sent the gun to mike at tko airguns for the discovery tune. now the gun will shoot 1 pellet hole at 20 yds. not 1 raged hole I am talking 1 pellet hole 5 shots through 1 hole the same size hole as the 1st pellet. accuracy is incredible now. I shoot house sparrows now out to 55yds and kill them every time now. that's with no or little wind. I also have the tko muzzle break that really quiets it down. very loud without it. also I strongly suggest you put a scope on the gun. the barrel is really weak or flimsy so you kind of have to protect it from bumping into things or you will have to resite in . I have a scope on mine so I keep mine in the gun cabinet with the top turret on scope against the back of cabinet . and the barrel not touching anything . my point of impact never changes. I never have to re sight. don't hesitate to get this combo . if it doesn't shoot send it to tko air guns $120.00 for a tune and shipping both ways. pumping the gun not bad at all . about 2 pumps a shot. I get about 20 shots from 2000psi to 1000psi then 40 pumps to get to 2000psi. this was my only order from airgun depot I got the gun in 4 days and I live in Delaware so it was quick service. would order from them again.

My First PCP
December 28, 2013
I have shot Benjy Air Rifles since I was a kid. This really a great rifle. Excellent trigger. Easy to fill. The air pump is great and quickly filled the the air reservoir without any difficulty. The Stock is really beautiful. The Disco is a well balanced rifle even when I put a scope on it. I have shoot mostly Springers and Pumps but will stay with PCP. I was always concerned with buying a PCP was keeping the air tank filled but I haven't seen any pressure loss so far.
Well made rifle. Easy to shot. Accurate to shoot. Well worth the the money. Easy to set up for a scope. I really like the Fiber Optic Sights. You really can go wrong with this rifle.
The only complaint I have is the rear sights. They are too low for bifocal glasses.

I put just under 1000 rounds through this gun in the first two days I owned it...enough said?

First off, to the staff at Airgun Depot, I am actually the proud new owner of a .22 cal Disco, but since it's out of stock now your site, it won't allow me to write a review on it. So please, I hope you still post this completely positive review on this gun, even though it's not the exact product I own. That being said, I've owned nine air rifles (not including my new Discovery). They have all been spring, or nitro pistol guns, ranging from my first rifle, a Crosman quest 1000 that I payed $99 for, to a Benjamin trail NP .22, to a Gamo socom extreme .177, to a benjamin trail 1100XL .22, a Walther talon magnum .25, a Hatsan Striker 1000S .22, a Ruger Air Magnum .177, and finally my favorite out of the group, my .22 caliber Benjamin Discovery. I am literally unable to put this rifle down, I hope it's not the catalyst for the end of the relationship in in right now lol she's getting jealous that I love my Disco more than her! This gun took 110 pumps with the included hand pump to fill, and I generally shoot it 25-30 times. To pump it back up it only takes about 40 pumps to top it off. I've shot CPHP 14.3s, Crosman pointed pellets (cheap, $5.00 for 175 count tin) Eun Jin 32.4 grain, and predator polymag 16 grains. They all shot exactly the same, 100" consistent. This is the least pellet fussy gun I've ever owned. I can put any of these pellets through the hole in a life saver from 10 yards. I don't have the room where I am to shoot anything more than about 15 yards right now so I'm a little limited, I know this rifle is a good long range performer. Well, I'll stop rambling, bottom line is: BUY THIS GUN!!! I like the .22 cal, but I'm sure the .177 is just as perfect.
Accurate Reasonably priced, allowing the "every man" to own a PCP Lightweight without feeling cheap Easy to fill with the hand pump (i.e. no expensive add'l equipment needed) Dual Fuel flexibility Not pellet fussy at all Virtually endless list of aftermarket add-ons available for reasonable prices.

Benjamin Discovery Dual Fuel Air Rifle
June 6, 2012
I needed an accurate air gun for pest control, have had other air guns but accuracy was always a problem. This gun solved the problem, it will drive tacks at 25 yards with a good scope, I can reproduce dime and quarter size groups with out any problem at 25 to 35 yards. Have not had time to do 50 yard targets yet, but I know this gun will do those with out any trouble. I have a 3 x 12 x 40 mounted on the rifle, my vision is too poor for iron sites. Have used several different pellets with out any noticeable decline in accuracy. Will do about 25 rounds before it needs air. Very pleased with this unit.
Accuracy is tremendous Great wood stock Well made
The hose on the air pump is to short, you have to lay the gun on the ground to air it up.

Benjamin Discovery .177

I love this Air Rifle. I seem to only get 20 shots per fill but that works for me. The sights are accurate but I added a red dot scope. Either way at 17 feet I'm hitting 1/4 inch groups with five shots. Faster using the scope. And yes you can use a speed loader on a bolt action rifle. Target practice Indoors ! I love it.

I am very pleased with the accuracy, finish, weight and ease of use. I have had other brand single pump spring air rifles that didn't seem to shot any where near the same place each time fired. The Benjamin lays them to shame.

This Rifle is accurate and powerful it hits my metal swinging style targets so hard at 33 yards instead of them locking in the upright position they bounce back down and up a couple of times. I haven't even tried they iron sights yet I am using a Centerpoint 3-9+40 scope and mounts that is for a 22 rimfire seems to work fineand will place one shot after another right through the same hole.

Excellent Rifle
July 17, 2009
I purchased this rifle several weeks ago and have yet to put it down. It's just too much fun to shoot. It's accuracy without any scope it great, however, I have it equipped with a UTG 6-24x50 full size AO scope for extremely long range target shooting and the accuracy is phenomenal. I', getting ~ 0.75" clusters at 75 yards. The rifle is quick and easy to pump up, generally taking about 90 - 100 full pumps to reach the suggested 2,000 psi. I have found that this pressure will allow me to shoot at least 50 or so shots before I really start to lose power and need to recharge. There is little to no recoil when the rifle is fired which makes shooting for extended periods of time far more comfortable on the body than if I'm shooting one of my break barrel rifles. I also have an Airsoft sniper rifle but it doesn't even compare to the Benjamin Discovery in any category. I would highly recommend this rifle to anyone who is serious about accuracy. I only use it for target shooting as I do not hunt at all but I am extremely pleased with how accurate this rifle is.

Benjamin Discovery Dual Fuel Air Rifle
March 17, 2008
Lets start with getting the shipment double boxed and in great condition. The pump looked nice and heavy duty and the scope a 3-9 x 40 center point looks like a monster on this gun I like that look myself. It take 100 pumps to get the gun to 2000psi and I got 40 shots indoors in a real warm basement but 35 outside at 41degrees. So we all know what a Benjamin looks like it's not a $1000.00 fancy stock gun it's the gun in your collection that you will pick up and go for a day of shooting just for that reason. After doing a laser sight in of the scope @ 25 ' that is all I can do in my basement I took 2 shots of every pellet I own I was really surprised how well they all shot many in the same hole all of them all shot groups touching each other. I did get to move outside @ 35 yards that when I was able to see the difference in the pellets the wadcutters did the best @ 25 ' and 35 Yards the Crosman competition did the best and the RWS MEISTERKUGELN were exactly the same the RWS high point also and believe it or not the Daisy precision max did just as well. Pointed and round nose group as well If that is what you like to shot you just have to do a slight reset of the scope and I do mean slight I was Hitting dead center with the flats @ 35 yards and the rounds nose pellets were only 1/2" high but in a tight group all groups with all pellets were less then a nickel @ 35 yards. I have been shooting a .177 cal super tuned Beeman R1 for years doing 15 shots in the same hole the .22 cal Benjamin matched that without the recoil. My opinion about this gun is a 10 accurate and powerful. Oh I didn't say anything about power I don't have a chronograph but it disincarnates a pellet in the trap instead of just flatting them out like most others.Lighter and shorter then most Springer's so it make for a gun that you can carry for a long time if out hunting. I may have to put the Beeman on eBay I think this is going to be my favorite gun for awhile!
