Bought one refurbished. Very accurate, cheap, plenty of power.

Accurate using Crosman or Benjamin Hollow Points, 1/2 inch groups at 25 yards. Using JSB RS pellets 1/4 inch groups at 25 yards.

Trigger is not very good.

The gun I received was the crosman fury NP (Nitro Piston, I think). I don't know the practical differences between the gun pictured and the one I received, but they are different. My gun has different stippling on the fore end, and the rest of the stock is shaped differently as well. Mine has a couple of minor scuffs on the plastic stock, but otherwise is in perfect shape! This is a GREAT gun for the money, and is a lot of fun to plink around with. Seems to be very accurate, scope is all right, some distortion around the edges of the "picture." Most fun you can have for $70!

I purchased this air rifle after an exhaustive review of lots of different brands and models. I was looking for an entry level air rifle. What I got was an incredibly powerful shooter. Other reviews have called the included scope crap. Maybe compared to an African big game rifle. I've owned and shot guns all my life and there's nothing wring with this scope. I managed to zero it in with about 4-5 shots and with the right pellet this gun will shoot dime sized groupings at over 50 feet. I tried Crosman Ultra Mag, hollow point and Destroyer pellets. I found the hollow point (dome shaped) to the most accurate and cause the most destruction in clay. I bought this in .177 cal so there would be no problem shooting in my back yard. All I can say is make sure you have at least an inch of hardwood. I used a 1/2" hardwood ply backstop at first and found the pellets were blowing right through this and embedding into my fence. This is one powerful shooter. If your shooting varmints use the hollow points otherwise the pellet will simply pass right on through - especially the heavier ultra mags. Sweet gun, decent scope, lots of fun. I paid only $79 + shipping for this refurb. Looked new out of the box.

inexpensive, hard and straight shooter, decent scope included

can't think of any for a gun this inexpensive.

Arrived well packed. Overall appearance was actually quite good. Initial inspection found everything functioning as it should be. Piston and spring are quite dry though- will resolve after break in. Not as loud as some report- slight honk on cocking, smooth long trigger w/crisp release(Wha Wha Whaaaaat?!), very slight dieseling for a few shots then settled into a nice dull thunk. Despite leaving the scope in box was able to reference 30 shots off hand at 8m into an inch. Hmmmm. Speaking of the scope? at 3x seems to focus well at short range(8-10m). Can't wait to get it mounted and wring it out. Airgun Depot people- ya got me a good'n! Thank You!

Looks great! Trigger isn't as terrible as some say(Yes I have several HW's and have had TX look alikes- B40) Easy handling and shooting. Decent inexpensive scope.

No iron sights on this one- nor holes to add them on.

Absolutely love this gun, the scope is crap but I can't complain for the price. Someone mentioned that this was not for hunting..Rubbish, I've hunted tons of Possums, Iguanas and Scaly napped pigeons not to mention tons of other birds and small game. The gun shoot a far distance as well, if you know how to use it.

Hard hitting.

Could of come with a better scope!

Could not tell the rifle was not new. Shot well right out of the box. Much different rifle than the Phantom. Looks the same, but it ends there. Internals are completely different to the Phantom. Much better hinge on the Fury with no sideways play that the phantom is known for. The Fury lends itself well to tuning. A lube tune turned my gun into a very sweet shooting rifle. Standard terrible crosman trigger. The rings supplied with the scope are four screw rings and hold the scope in place when used with the locking pin. I have since replaced the scope with a 3-9X40 AO and it stays put. Heckuva lotta gun for $70. I recently bought a refurb phantom directly from crosman. In my opinion, the fury is a much better built gun than the phantom. The phantom was $59 and the fury was $69. Both guns are worth at least double what they sold for. I have 50+ years of shooting and gunsmithing experience.

When I first got this gun I was messing around to see if the accuracy was any good and when I tested it on my targets it was great, so then I tried to shoot at a PENCIL and hit it! I was only about 10 yards away but I was very impressed. The power is good too. I've shot about 12 squirrels, loads of birds, and about 5 chipmunks and it blew some apart from 15-20 yards

Accuracy, power, the look, easy to cock

Loud at first,pretty heavy

what type of bbs does it use,is it blowback.

asked john

This rifle is not blowback. It is a gas piston gun, not a C02.

Hi, This gun does not use BB's but pellets, it's a really super hard hitting Air rifle, well worth the money. The best pellets for it that I've tested is the Crosman Destroyer .177 Cal Hunting Pellet.

Allan from Grenada

Hi there, I am wondering as to whether you ship to Ireland or is it only America? Regards, Seamus

Could it take down an armadillo?

asked Will

I've taken down woodchucks with is air rifle

I really have not tried with an armadillo, but I'm sure it can, because I tried with a 3/4 inch plywood with a Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum and it passed through easily.

Is this the same gun as the Phantom? And could it take down squirrels and birds at 20-30 yards?

asked Jon

No the fury is not the same. The phantoms have a different guide diameter and spring size. The fury has a higher pitch spring yielding more energy. And yes it has the punch for tree rats. I limit my shots to 50 yards.

J.B. Roche

It should be the exact same gun but with a different name on it. Even the model # is only one letter off. I don't care for the stock, but otherwise I'd totally buy it. And yes, it'll smoke squirrels and birds at 30yrds, Crows and rabbit too.

I can not speak for the Phantom, but the Crossman Fury will take down a squirrels at 30+ yards. I have made this shot many times and the squirrel never knew what hit him. The old question is; "Would I buy this same gun again?" and the answer is YES!

Is this a loud rifle?

asked Mike,liberty

Not overly loud about like a 22 short or cb cap.

Pete from USA

Is this a loud gun.?

asked Kordell s

not if you use the heavy Crosman pellets.

Is it a very loud gun? Is it good for a suburban area with close neighbors?

asked Jack

No I would have to say. It shoots @ 97-108 dcb. And the gun has the power to inflict injury at 150 t yards. Look at the Stoeger x5. That would be your gun. Super sweet btw. Very accurate ;)

J.B. Roche

Is it an accurate gun for squirrel hunting, pest control and all that? Thank you for Answering this question for me.

asked Jp

Is this refurbished rifle in good condition?

asked ANDREW from Ireland

Yes it is, it looks like new and works perfect.

Santiago from USA

Item came in like new, works like new, can 't even tell the difference. Its flawless......

Does it come without the scope? The pesky rabbits usually are very close range.

asked Richard

You have some options: One is what Daniel said, but the muzzle brake is much nicer for cocking than the open sight version. Two is just use the scope but adjust the parallax down to a closer range. Lastly is put sights on this gun. Use a regular rear sight and either glue it on or drill/tap it for screws. For the front you can attach a sight to the end of the brake, as far fwd as possible so it isn't in the way when cocking like the normal sight is. It won't need to be very high since the brake is already adding height. You could cut the top of an regular front sight off and glue it to the brake. Or glue something similar there. I would use a screw like a 10-24 so it can be threaded into a hole on the end of the brake. I would cut the head off and grind the threads off leaving a smooth shaft except for 1/4" on one end, then flatten two sides of the shaft a little bit until it's about 2mm thick. Screw the threaded end into a hole you drilled in the plastic brake about 1/4" from the tip. Cut it to the correct height and leave the thin side lined up with the rear sight. Either cold blue the screw or paint it flat black. Now it should look no different than a normal sight from the shooting position, but otherwise it should pretty look cool. Being further forward than a regular sight it will give you more leverage to cock, plus you have the brake to grip which I can tell you is much better than a bare barrel. If you do that you could also buy tall "see-thru" scope rings so you can use either the sights or the scope.

Yes, it does come with a 4x32mm scope.

Andrew from USA

You would be looking for the Crosman Phantom then. Same gun as the Fury but has iron sights instead of the scope.

Daniel from USA

It comes with a very useful scope

It does not come without the scope. However, you can take the scope off. It is actually shipped with the scope detached. The only problem is that the rifle does not have its own sites. The scope works great, very accurate. It can be used for close range. Good luck.

Hello!!! I wanted to know when you say refurbished, in what kind details shape it was in? Because Wal-mart has the same one put all the boxes has been opened for $98.00. I don't want my first air rifle to be a bad experience. Now I've had pistol and it was a good one, and past it down to my oldest son and we are both are looking at rifles for small game just to start out. So please point us or give a father some good advice on a beginners rifle for small game.

asked Palmer from USA

Palmer, Refurbished air guns/rifles are like new. They may have been returned to the manufacturer due to any kind of issue. They are tested, fixed, and tested again to make sure the problem was corrected. I encourage you to read through some of our customer reviews regarding refurbished products to get a better idea of their quality. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Scott from USA

Is this gun a good bang for your buck or would you recommend something else? I am looking for a good air rifle or sniper under 90$.

asked abdiel

Either this or a wood stock version like the Quest which is even cheaper, but yes, Crosman is the gun to buy imo. Other guns may be similar, but even for twice the money you can't beat a Crosman. If you wanted more power you'd need to step up to a magnum which are usually a lot more money, much larger, heavier, and much harder to cock. These guns are surprisingly easy to cock yet very efficient so you get max power for that effort.

What is your opinion of this rifle? I'm looking for a good rifle to play with and use for pest control, etc. I don't mind loud rifles, as I live in the country. Does it shoot straight? How's the power? Thank you for your time.

asked wiley

Crosman are excellent for the money, I'd highly recommend this for pests. You'd need to spend considerably more to get a better gun. Basically most all the Crosman break barrel guns have the same performance, so pick the cheapest one you like. The exceptions are some special low powered versions, and the considerably more expensive magnums; the Benjamin XL series. Any of the referb guns like this are great deals, can't tell them from new. The Quest is another excellent one and even cheaper.
