Many airgunners think a multi-pump pneumatic is the ideal powerplant since the effort to power the gun is user dependent. Wherever your strength level lies that's good enough for the gun. Use from 3 to 10 pumps. This pistol comes with a blade front sight and a fully adjustable rear and the rear can be quickly switched from a notch to a peep by loosening a screw.

Optics can be mounted too if you buy the optional 459MT intermount. Add 3/8-inch dovetails on your pistol by upgrading to the steel breech. Although that upgrade removes your rear sight, there's a kit version that includes the LPA rear sight that fits on the steel breech dovetails.

Use 1377 American Classic air gun for plinking, paper targets, spinners and tin cans.

New grip and pump-lever configuration, same great pistol!

rough rifling
April 26, 2018
the rifling in my P1377 is really ragged. Looks like the cutter was run thru once with
too deep a cut.
I would recommend this one only if the bore is checked.

Needs magnet to use BBs ;)
February 15, 2018
Very well working handgun. After sights adjusted, its pretty damn accurate. It isnt designed for BBs, they just roll out of the chamber, but thats easily fixed by using a strong magnet and rubbing the loading tip good untill it slightly magnetizes. Ordering online is cheaper than in stores.
Pros-Multi pump. Easier to create pressure. -accurate -Feels solid
Cons- wasnt made for BBs, but easily worked around.

Get the stock with it. I have a 25 yard range laid out in yard, this pistol, once sighted in using peep sight, does not miss. I do. Shooting it is addictive. 5 star rating because it is what it is.
ProsA basic, no frills pistol. Extremely accurate at 25 yards with "peep" sight, I drilled it out a few sizes. I pump it up to 8 or 10 pumps occasionally, but 5 pumps is all that is needed for cans.
ConsCould use a better system for keeping rear sight open/peep tang tight. The small screw on mine was stripped, used duct tape to hold it on til I found a little bigger screw and threaded it thru the plastic base.

I really liked this gun, it's indoor friendly and outdoor plinking is fun. you get to control the speed and power of the gun and overall a fun gun to play with and plink! I recommend getting the stock for accuracy and stability
Prosvariable pump means you control the power not pellet picky in my case upgradeable to put a scope in FUN FUN FUN
Consloud at 10 pumps for me

Versatile little fun gem, wow.
October 7, 2017
I admit I didn't buy it here, even if I planned to, I bought it from my local Walmart it was on clearance there for $25.00. This was a steal, I did modify the front side and the pump grip a little. The pictures are in this review, I took some green spray paint and painted the view part on the back with it, for better contrast, and filled the hollow part of the pump handle with some foam out of an electronics packaging to the loud pump clack down. Succeeded with that two little homemade mods. I can shoot this pistol all day long and hit soup tin cans up to 90 feet dead on only with open sights. I anxious about how good this little gem will shoot after I installed the crosman Steel Breech for installing a little scope and the crosman custom carbine stock, I'm pretty sure it will be a tack driver. I shoot mostly crosman 7.4 gr. Pointed pellets and crosman 7.9 gr. HP pellets all day long with hits dead on. A lot of fun an cheap to shoot, for everyone in the market for a pistol like that don't hesitate get it. Also there is tons of mods and info all over the internet to mod it homemade or commercialy, so if you want you can make a little power carbine for hunting or Target shooting out of it.
ProsVery accurate, easy to pump, easy to mod, really versatile and a lot of fun.
ConsThe sights could use a little overhaul, but still usable.

The sights could be improved
June 26, 2017
The standard open sights particularly the front blade sight is too narrow. In the shooting position the front blade should almost fill up the full width of the rear notch sight. I used to be a competitive pistol shooter. When I was in the army back in the 1950s, I rebuilt a standard issue M1911, 0.45 caliber pistol with fixed iron sights with a wider notch rear and a wider blade front sight along with other changes which greatly improved the accuracy.
ConsToo barrel heavy

ProsSimple to upgrade.
ConsPlastic grip and forearm.

Very versatile and accurate.
March 6, 2017
The ability to shoot either a low or higher power shot is what makes this gun so versatile.
I use it at low power, (3 pumps) to dispatch mice and at 10 for larger pests.
You can even get the Crosman shoulder stock for this gun and make it even more accurate than it is, and it is plenty accurate as is with that long barrel to put the front sight out farther to lessen the natural aiming inaccuracies you get from a very short barrel.
ProsVersatile, accurate, good price.
ConsThe trigger is a bit stiff, but that can be fixed rather easily if you carefully follow the tips available on Youtube. The fixes only require a minimum of mechanical skill. (A screwdriver and a pair of pliers essentially). I did the basic trigger spring modification that involves compressing the spring in a vice a little bit to shorten it and lower the strength of it a bit, and also adding a spent .22 Long Rifle shell to the top of the spring and it now works much better.

great fun at a small price
November 7, 2016
I was really surprised at how well this shoots at such a modest price. It needs fibre optic sights to make it a real tack driver for a fifty dollar pellet gun. I'm going to improvise some for this little jewel to really make her shine.. Crossman has a ton of upgrades for this classic let your wallet dictate your mods. This model appears to have a cult like following
Prosprice. available upgrades from Crossman, reputation as a classic
Consplastic parts most of which can be replaced with metal ones from Crossman for a price. But she shoots great just like she is but needs fibre optics to really excell

most expensive 59 dollar gun
January 15, 2016
There is a reason this is called the most expensive 60 dollar air pistol in the world. It is probably the most upgradeable pistol there is. I bought over $300 in upgradeable parts before i ever recieved the gun. I bought it for my left handed wife and got walnut grips and pump handle along with an aluminum left handed breech. I added about a dozen performance and aesthetics parts and the gun looks amazing. It shot very nice with no upgrades at up to 30 feet which is my max distance and is accurate. Aftermarket parts are everywhere on the net to customize this gun however you want when you are ready. So far my wives gun is our most expensive and im jealous!
ProsGreat price for an accurate gun. Extremely upgradeable beyond any other air gun that i know.
ConsPlease there are none

If you don't mind pumping it up this is a great gun. Pop can at 20 yards takes no time to be hitting. I', able to hot at 45 yards 80% of the time. The guns a blast to shoot.
ProsCost, different level of pumps for power.m

1377 American Classic
August 15, 2015
It seems like I've always owned one of these magnificent single shot pump air pistols from Crosman. The out of box accuracy of this pistol is phenomenal. I honestly believe that nothing can touch it for the price. My latest 1377 has despatched many tree rats and 1 nasty possum, all kill shots through the head, grosses out my wife but she's amazed at my shooting skills, lol! I would highly recommend this pistol whether you're a new beginner or seasoned shooter.
ProsCan regulate power of shot by increasing or decreasing times pumped. Very accurate right out of the box. Single shot forces you to make every shot count. Powerful and high FPS on 10 pumps. Tough design doesn't break.
