Pros
hard to tell from the real gun
Cons
a cavity with a buryed magnet to hold the allen tool
I waited to review this M1 carbine to give a fair opinion. I received it mid September. If you think you can blast away on the Co2 cylinders, think again. If you are concerned with Co2 cyl. cost this M1 is not for you. That wonderfull blow back action uses a lot of co2. With an extra clip or two I get about 36 accurate rounds max per cyl. Phone calls with AGD confirmed this issue. They sent replacment magazines fast to confirm if there was a problem. I will not buy any air gun except from them. As for the Magazine I do sets of twelve rounds to keep count, then let the Co2 Cyl rest and recover by shooting the second clip. RWS silicone chamber oil is by far a better product than The infamous Crosmans "Pell Gun oil", In my opinion. Umarex is adding it to their air gun Maintenance instructions. "Air soft" oil is proving to be the same to me in performance. This improves the seal of the Co2 in the magazine greatly. keeps the action smooth.
Pros
Love this M1. I have two real powder burners, one is a 1943 original. Other than the size of the magazine this is a fine reproduction. The blow back action of the bolt is spot on with real M1. Including the push button pin on the slide to keep bolt open. Even the original GI bayonets fit nicely. The accuracy is nice and I am getting about golf ball groups at 30 feet. Military peep sights are tuff on these old eyes. All my air pistols shoot the Black Diamond BBss the best. Air Venturi BBs are a very close second but have pop ups. I belive the anodized surface of Black Diamonds holds the BB in the magazine better at the feeding position. Disassembly is just like original GI model. The plastic stock is nice, wood would be better. I used a painted wooden dowel as the oiler for original GI sling to preven scratching up the stock cavity. This air gun is now one of my all time favorites. AGD is the best customer service you can find in my opinion.
Cons
They need to make the wood stock available. They also need to make elevation adjustments for the rear sight, it only has windage. It also would save a lot of co2 if the bolt would stay open when last BB is fired from magazine. As of now you have to keep count of shots fired.
Love the gun
Pros
Great gun
Cons
None
Pros
I purchased with an additional CO2/BB magazine with BBs included 'COMBO PACKAGE'. When installing the CO2 in 'either Mag' lots of CO2 escaped. No little "FISS SOUND", more like a "Whoooose Sound". There was very little shooting due to escaped CO2 after that. I returned the Entire combo, rifle/Mag/BBs. Airgun Depot refunded my money.
Cons
I may purchase this again. "Buyer Beware". AirGun Depot did the right think for me. Thank you for that.
I was a bit cheap with myself. I should have bought the model with the wood stock. The faux wood stock in acceptable, but real would is better. On a side note, an original bayonet fits without modification. Expect 3 magazine shots out of 1 co2 cartridge.
Pros
It is a very good reproduction of an M1 Carbine. The feel is right. When compared to an original M1 Carbine, it is only slightly longer, perhaps 3/8 of an inch. Accuracy is better than I expected. I was able to get a 1 1/2-inch group at 8 yards. This was my first shooting with the product.
Cons
Nothing.
The plastic stock is awesome just as pictured in the catalog
Pros
OUTSTANDING LOOK-A-LIKE REPRODUCTION
Cons
The action is flawless but as a rule I prefer no action.
Call to verify any descriptions as most are cut/paste, omitting details or just plain misleading.
Pros
Same as the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine model for Much Less
Cons
Not real wood stock, faux wood stock grain. Box clearly states synthetic wood. Description should reflect the truth as I purchased believing it was real wood (i.e. walnut, birch, maple, anything but fake plastic).
My grandson loves to shoot it & its realism. Is like the real one
Pros
Well made
Cons
To bad you cant get a replica bayonet to go with it.
This airgun is probably the best reproduction I have ever seen. It looks and feels exactly like my real M1 carbine. I opted for the wood stock and at the new lower price point , this would be my recommendation. The rifle shoots well and seems to be close to the manufacturers specs. The first time I installed a co2 cartridge, I could hear a slight leak. A drop of RWS air gun oil on the brass valve located at the top of the magazine, stopped it. The blow back action is great and adds enjoyment to the shooting experience. The downside is that you will only get two magazines of shooting before the cartridge is empty. I bought this primarily as a replica and already knew about the co2 limits. So if you want something for longer shooting sessions between co2 swaps, you will need to pick something else. I was considering the Crossman M1 , which probably shoots better, but this one looks fantastic.
Pros
Realistic feel and well balanced.
Blow back operation.
Cons
Limited number of shots per co2
Question?
Login to ask someone who bought this product.Does this gun have a piccatiny rail? I see in the description it says no rail but in the pictures it shows a piccatiny rail on several of the pictures
asked Jimmie from USAIs it field strippable
asked Theace 508 from USANo, not very authentic in that regard. But, it can be disassembled should you need to do a deep clean.
Brian from USADo all the synthetic wood models have weak fore grips and sloppy recievers for the magazine? Are the wooden stock models any better construction and assembly wise? Hope get a response here shortly. So, I can make up my mind and order this. Or finally get it off my mind. Thanks.
asked Ed from USACan the hand guard be replaced with a metal ventilated one's like the ones on the aftermarket versions of the m1 carbine?
asked Dennis from USAYes. They sell it here at airgundepot "fwd optic rail" https://www.airgundepot.com/springfield-armory-m1-carbine-optic-mount.html
James from USAIs the action and barrel metal or plastic?
asked Raymond from USAMetal
James from USAfor the loose stock, get some "microbed" it is same color and permanent..use wax to keep the stock loose from the metal.. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS ABSOLUTEY.
asked Robert from USAi bought the Umarex Legends cowboy .122 pellet rifle and the lever is very loose.. Drops looking at it.. Is there a quick fix or is it a legit defect? let me know if it can be fixed..
asked Nicholas from CanadaI'm buying the synthetic stock version. But I have a wood stock from a real M1 carbine. Will it fit this rifle?
asked Rick from USAYou can make it fit, but once you change it it will be weaker.
Tom from USAHandguard is loose fitting, does it come off to see if I can find a way to fix it. If yes how do you do it? I just got it don't want to break something.
asked Mark from USAAir Venturi tech support is creating a video to show the proper way to install the Fwd Optic Rail (sold here on airgundepot). They were very helpful assisting me in swapping out the forward hand guard for the rail. Sent me step by step images. Really simple process and it does tighten up the rifle, much less rattling.
James from USAThe ad say it shoots PELLETS Does it shoot .177 pellets or just BBs ?
asked Ricky from USATitle of page clearly states BB gun...
James from USAJust BB's
Mark from USAThe M1 shoots BB's which are .177 cal/
Mark from USAI noticed it is possible to install a sling and oiler combo, is it possible to install the buttstock pouch? The real steel rifle the entire barrel, receiver and trigger assembly is removed and the pouch is slide down from the foregrip end and not from the butt end. Is all possible to remove?
asked Charles (Mike) from USAThe mag buttstock pouch has to slide down from the barrel end. If you remove the rear sight it will slide down easily. There are two Philipps head screws on the rear sight. Just turn the sight adjustment all the way to left to gain access to the screw, then move it to right to remove the other screw. These screws are in tight with Lock Tight so be careful removing them so as not to strip the slots out. Also, the bb magazines will not fit in the buttstock pouch since they are longer than the original 30 cal mags.
Marshall from USAThe front hand guard on faux wood version is loose and rattles. Any way can this be fixed. I’d take it apart but would be afraid of it not going back together right. Any suggestions?
asked David CarwayDoes this rifle shoot pelets.
asked Mark MitchellHow do I order extra mags and how much are they?
asked DEAN from USAWill you be offering the version with the wood stock?
asked Douglas Kinneycancel my order for springfield Armory M1 Carbine BB Rifle to long of a wait.
asked Thomas from USACould you post this to the UK? Regards Rob
asked Robert PerryI had a Universal M1 carbine and i’d like one of these if and when they put a real wood stock on it. My question is How accurate is your gun?
asked Eugene RaymoPictures look better than real item, shot show guy said it shoots 45 bbs per pull of trigger, did he mean I that to say 45 shots per co2 carteridge6or does it shot like a shotgun? Very confusing shot show video. If it's just a plastic stock, then why such a hefty price tag?
asked James from USATo bad they do not offer this with a wood stock. Or do they?
asked DonWill you offer the wood stock model talked about at the 2019 shot show by Air Venturi? Will you offer a spare magazine?
asked LarryCould a real wooden stock replace the plastic one for this carbine?
asked Frederick from USADoes it allow a Scope or Red Dot Sight to be mounted? Gary
asked Gary O from USA

Pros
Very good replica. Authentic operation. Shoots well.
Cons
Experiencing some leakage in the mag - looks like the cartridge seal is inadequate. Requires one to tighten the nut very firmly to minimize. Silicon oil on the seal seems to help. Both of these are common complaints: (1) Uses a lot of CO2 and so can not get more than 2 or maybe 3 mag loads worth. (2) Upper handguard is loose.
