I have owned this rifle for 4 years now and found very easy to pump and seems durable even though it is mostly plastic. The thumbhole stock is comfortable and easy to point right or left handed.I have 4 variations of the vintage 880 models with the metal receivers and pump handles which have more weight to them and seem more substantial , this plastic model is very light so i added a clamp -on bipod and a better scope.About the scope it is not good so i added a Leapers 3x9x32mm with an adjustable AO and a one a piece mount. Loading a pellet is an adventure, the port just isn't large enough . It takes practice. Some have said this model isn't as accurate and i think that is true , maybe because of the lighter weight ,who knows ? Where it really shines is the ease of pumping and light overall weight excellent for younger shooters with good power output. The trigger is stiff but you can't expect a world class trigger from a 80.00 dollar rifle it might loosen up with use.

Pros
Light weight easy to pump.

Cons
Needs better scope, larger port to load pellets.

Really love this gun, it is one of the very best air rifles I have owned, considering the price of it. It is hands down one of the best if not the best. Excellent for weeding out them little nasty varmints and even better for plinking with your buddies,

Pros
Balanced very well, Extremely accurate, Rifled barrel, Easy loading, Dual ammo, Just a great all around rifle

Cons
My only complaint would be that I wish it had fiber optic front sight, and that they would bring back the metal receivers.

Accurate enough for close range starling killing. Loading g pellets is a pain but not awful. It's a cheap, powerful small bird killer just but it.

Good gun for the money, fairly accurate with the regular sights, scope takes some adjustment to dial in.

Pros
Accurate Quiet Light

Cons
Not so smooth trigger pull

Great gun overall. Sub par accuracy with BBs but with the right pellet it is impressively accurate. Several hundred shots through it now and no problems. Scope holds zero well. Great buy for the price point.

I bought this version of the venerable Daisy 880 design to compare to my recent Daisy 880S and my 70's production 799 Sears/Ted Williams Special. The old 799 is needing some TLC, but the 77XS and the 880s are closely matched. Basically is comes down to stock preference - I like the thumbhole design of the 77XS. The scope is cheap, but scaled to the price point of this gun. There are plenty of good low-price scopes to replace it, is needed. Power and velocity are good enough for basic practice, and small varmints up close - but this is NOT a true hunting pellet rifle. The barrel is not real quality, but is adequate. I shoot only lead pellets, NO BBs. Overall, it is a good buy for the money, and a good stepping stone to a better air rifle later on.

Pros
Stock design, light weight.

Cons
Cheap construction, cheap scope.

This gun is very inaccurate. Bought it for my son who was a sharp shooter w his daisy red rider and he couldn't hit anything with this piece of junk. Winchester or Daisy is trying live off the Winchester name but got very cheap on us. Ill be calling and sending this junk back. Ill bet they give me a hard time but ill be posting my experience with their customer service.

Pros
Looks cool. Would be great if you don't want your kid killing the local wildlife.....haha scope is not good either.

Cons
Very innaccurate

What a sick air gun. The dual ammo option makes target practice or small game hunting all worth every pump with excitement. I personally have been using 'extra point' pellets with no regret of pulling the trigger. This gun has great distance once the scope is leveled in and with the multi-pump feature, it makes shooting the gun extremely addicting. A light weight body and short cut barrel makes transporting or aiming the gun rather controlled and comfortable. Keeping a low profile and hitting your mark with massive force is nothing out of nature for this gun.

Pros
Quiet, 800fps, light weight, dual ammo

Cons
The scope is not the best, but with love-and-care to get it sighted in, it could easily be a new best friend.

I have bought many multi-pump rifles in the past and loved them, but not quite as much as I'm loving the 77xs. Its very accurate and super powerful. i have the 760 pumpmaster and a 66 powermaster and this gun is stronger/quieter than both. as well as quieter. I bought this gun to take care of the larger pests that those other guns couldn't quite kill cleanly. I dropped a large wild pigeon with a bb, yes a bb to the upper chest from 20 yrds on the first shot after sighting in my own scope. All in all, this rifle is probably one of the best 17 cal multi-pumps out there!

Pros
sweet design lightweight, but well built powerful, high velocity accurate dual ammo easy to pump

Cons
nothing really........ stock scope wasent the best..

JEFF from USA

Is the gun returnable? Basically if something were to happen that would make me no longer want the gun could I return it and if yes, by when would I have to return it? Just so you know, if i did return it it would be unopened, exactly how I received it, when you got it back.

asked Tyler deDianous
