3 rounds of .22 to zero the scope out of the box. First pest got hit exactly where aimed at.
First sping gun and very pleased with it.
Pros
Shoots well, scope is good . Overall accurate and well made.
Cons
Wish it also had iron sights.
This was the best investment I have made for urban varmint control, the squirrels had basically taken over and chewed up everything around the house to include our Christmas lights. When they started running my laying hens away from their feeder that was the last straw. I purchased the Beeman Kodiak and bought 500 rounds of .22 pellets, with in the first 8 shots it was dead on at 20 yards. I sat in my lawn chair and waited the next morning and it did not take long. In the first 45 minutes I took out 11 squirrels with 11 shots at 15 yards, all in the head! I plan on taking it hunting in the fall for rabbit and squirrel (like I have to go far for that).
Thanks Beeman for an outstanding air rifle.
this air gun shoots dead on right out of the box... if you change the scope that is i just love shooting this air gun..
sgt. Smith USMC.....
A bee landed on my target board while I was standing 25 ft. distant. I put the bee in my crosshairs and let a Crosman 14.6 grain 22. cal pellet fly......whack.. Beeutiful accuracy and hard hitting....scope would not adjust for elevation so I use the iron sights which are very good. Cocking is no problem ..... Weight of gun is equal to a M1 Garand .....low recoil ....supersonic noise if you don't clean shipping grease from barrel.
Pros
Beeutiful accuracy....good quality....hard hitting
Cons
Scope is not good quality
Nice, scope not great. Hits hard. And only $98.00 at Walmart
Pros
Power is very good
Cons
scope not great
I've enjoyed this rifle since I opened the box. It only took a few shots to sight in the scope. I've tried different pellets and all shot well in this gun, from Crosman pellets to RWS and Gamo. Now naturally you'll have to adjust the scope for every type of pellet. Lately I've been shooting the Crosman destroyer pellets at 7.9gr. They've been amazingly accurate. Just took a raccoon an hour ago using this pellet with the Beeman! The Beeman Silver Kodiak is an excellent gun for the price. I'll be trying out the .22 barrel shortly. But so far my experience with the .177 option has been excellent. It shoots hard and accurate!
Pros
Very accurate, powerful, decent trigger pull.
Cons
Longer rifle, may be harder for smaller shooters.
Powerful and accurate if you can get it sighted in, Beeman Scope is not the best. Had a hard time adjusting wind-age. It would not adjust, so a slight taping on the scope and that seemed to work for now. Do not know if it will stay adjusted, time will tell. Elevation no problem, just wind-age. Other then that a great air rifle.
I'm 62yrs. an outdoorsman. I haven't been around air rifles in a few yrs. but the power of this rifle is just AMAZING! It's not as quiet as I would have liked but, I guess with the power it's an ok trade off. The scope is ok, and the accuracy is unique to the pellet you use. The price is the best buy you'll find for a weapon of this quality. The trigger needs work. All in all I'm extremely happy with my purchase.
Pros
Power, Penetration, ease of barrel switching, and operation, low maint.
Cons
I've never squeezed a heavier trigger, but perhaps it will smooth out after time.
This is a great rifle for any avid shooter.
You must sight the scope per pellet being used.
No air rifle will shoot with the same accuracy when changing between high velocity light weight pellets to heavy hard hitting pellets between every shot
Decide which avenue you want to take with this sight it correctly then have fun
Make sure all fittings (scope, barrel, etc) are snugly in place or accuracy will suffer
This is NOT a toy for youngsters, this is a serious air rifle that can cause serious injury or death in the hands of the irresponsible.
Mine is sighted for heavy hard hitting magnum pellets not high velocity, regular, light weight or pointed pellets.
Pros
Absolutely the best for controlling pests, varmints and aggressive canines (coyotes, foxes)
great target and plinking
A great beginner strong air rifle
Good quality rifle
Cons
This will be hard to cock for any youngster (should be accompanied by a responsible adult at ALL times) or many females. However with powerful rifles some compromises have to be made
Question?
Login to ask someone who bought this product.I am curious about the thread size/count on the muzzlebrakes, my brother has one of these rifles and I was amazed by it's quality and accuracy compared to my crosman F4 nitro piston I had at the time. I am curious because I'm thinking of getting my brother a moderator or different style muzzlebrake, if anyone could give a measurement of the threads it would be greatly appreciated
asked Josiah from USAWhere can I get a gas piston for this? I love this rifle but I'm over the clunky spring in it.
asked Joshua from USAIs there an owner's manual for this gun? I would like to know how to change from one barrel to another.

Josiah from USAIs the trigger adjustable? Also how is the noise level for city shooting? Thank you.
asked TimNoise level is pretty high, not very stealthy. If you are looking for a silent shooter the umarex fusion 2 would be a better choice

This is listed as a silver Kodiak however on the rifle itself it says Sportsman RS2. So what is it?
Just did another pellet test on this one. I know it does better with heavier pellets. So pellets in order lightest to heavier.
Crossman Destroyer 7.4 gr
Gamo Red Fire 7.8 gr
Gamo Rocket 9.6 gr
I had to adjust the scope a bit as the rifle is sighted for Gamo steel cats at 10.4 gr. This was also a test to see how hard hitting each pellet was against 1/4 inch plywood backing. 3 shots apiece at its own target. As expected both Gamo pellets were more accurate and were able to start splintering the back of the plywood after the 3 shots. The destroyer hardly bubbled the back. The next rounds of three shots apiece the Gamo pellets started to break through the plywood and the destroyer started to splinter the wood. The next set as expected, Gamo's shredded through the wood.
The destroyers highlight it did hit 2 bulls eyes in a row by the time this whole thing was over.
Pros
All of it except scope is OK. Strong gun, good for varmint control.
Cons
Scope can be better
